Vengeance For Jenny

Chapter 8 - Not Your Partner 3.2

"Get any closer and I'm going to think you want me to kiss you." A seductive yet devilish smirk plays across his lips.

I start laughing, which I know is misplaced and has shocked both men but I can control my discomfort to his comment. The thought no matter how good looking he was is preposterous.

"Not in a million years." I stand on my tippy toes getting close to where my lips were close enough, he could feel my breath on his lips. "Only way I'd ever kiss you would be if I went mentally insane. I'm not like your whore last night." He lowers his gaze to my words a burning fire he was now pissed good. I step back.

"I knew you too would be a great match." Dodger announces I turn my head toward him shocked noticing Maliki did the same as we both shouted in unison.

"Have you got eyes who gets along with him?"

"Who the hell gets along with her?"

"Really, looks good to me, also as of today no more solo shit all members are required partners don't like it there's the door get the fuċk out." I feel my face flush red, was he serious. One thing I hated more than arrogant conceited jerks was have my hand forced by men.

I glare at him. "Fine I don't need G.O.D It was slowing down my progress anyway." I turn on my heal heading for the exit.

I lift my middle finger up flipping them off. Leaving the building I know I went overboard but when it came to being told what to do, that impulse in me, it's like I'm spectating from outside my body and it's someone else piloting my body. Standing outside my truck I take a deep breath my hand grapping the door handle. I should go back in my shoulders dropped. My phone rings I see the name on the screen as I quickly answer it. Phone to my ear only few seconds I hear my name called out. I spin around to see Maliki walking towards me. The words being spoken on the other side of the phone sinking in. My mind freezes the phone slips through my fingers hitting the pebble parking lot. I don't even bother to pick it up as I jump into my truck the keys in the ignition and peal out of the parking lot.

A new fear consumes me as I race in the direction of home, "Becca." I mumble under my breath.

****

Nearly getting ran over I jump out of the way. I didn't know what just happened but the little typhoon was as white as a ghost.

"Miss, Miss. Andrews, Are you there? Did you hear me?" I look down on the ground a small voice was shouting out from the phone Jenny had dropped. Talking over I hold it to my ear.

"Did you hear me? Becca, and Miranda are missing! I tighten my fist to those words I don't know who these people are to Jenny but they must have been important for to ask in such a way when she goes through the trouble to ask like she never cares about anything.

I admit I didn't know her that well as we just met there's no way that she will confide in me and it's not really my problem but I'm going to guess she will shoulder this on her own considering she's so stubborn. After a few minutes of the woman on the other end repeating herself she hung up the sound of sirens grew loud in the background before disconnecting what was happening?

I clutch her phone in my hand. I cross the parking lot to my motorcycle I slip her phone into my pocket. I shouldn't go this wasn't my problem but I can't just leave it be. Dodger had given me her address wanting me to go after her. Finding her outside I was going to tell her where bitches like her can go and leave. No way was I going to beg for her to reconsider like he had wanted me to. I hated woman who treated my friends badly and for better or worse Dodger was a friend. Soon as I saw her face though all thoughts of doing such a thing changed. I started in the direction of Jenny's house, same direction she was heading. What I'd find there when I arrived, I had no idea.

Trouble was my years with the Feng clan taught me to except ten times worse than what I was thinking. I recall Jenny's sunken in eyes the fire gone as if she had just been stabbed. I have it more gas racing to get there a second sooner.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She hisses.

"So heartless."

"Not even crying to mourn the loss."

"She's probably responsible."

"Her roommate always said she was cold."

"Look at her she looks she was out parting again, poor child having such a mom,"

"she forced her female lover to raise her daughter while she partied."

The whispers grew more and more abound us. She doesn't even flinch or react to the insults. She stood her ground glaring at me.

That her druggy boyfriend? Look at those clothes' scoundrel with a nice face. Probably one who killed them." to this insult as a reaction as Jenny who for a second looked like Anna glared in the person hidings direction.

"Miss I need your statement," an officer comes over.

"Why so you can accuse me to, Miranda Must have Ran away with my child I already told you that. Now either find her or get the hell out of my way and I'll find them." She growled barreling past the officer.

I duck under the tap and quickly follow after her. Warning the cop to stay back handing him our business card. We might be a shadow organization but we were becoming well known. He tipped his hat and backed off.

"Why are you here? You can get lost too." She spits fire with her words.

"We are partners, you got a problem then so do I." I say shrugging nonchalantly.

She spins around her fist swinging to strike me in the jaw, I grab it. I notice her blink in surprise. I was faster than the average person.

"I don't have partners and I don't need your help." She hissed.

"Actually, you do because I got connections you would only dream of having. I will help you find your child."

"How did you?"

Her voice lowers almost wavered, "I have my reasons."

"We all have our reasons." Let's give this partnership a try if you don't like my work while we hunt for your child then you can kick me to the curb, but you can't do it alone it will exhausted you.

"I'm not weak!" She suddenly shouts stepping back and spinning around.

"Never said you were but you do need proper training if you want to convince Dodger you don't need a partner and I can't go on any missions till I agree, lending you my strength will benefit us both." I say deciding to appease her rational brain.

I hold out my hand. "Partners," I lower my voice almost calling her. She looks back over her shoulder seeing my hand. I watch her bit the corner of pretty bottom lip making it look plump and juicy more. Her eye leaving my hand and up to my eyes here eye lashes batting at me a small smile. Damn that couldn't look more seductive if she tried. She slowly turns and takes my hand.

"Three days, and you bet I am going to make these three days a living hell for you." Her voice low and sėxy.

"Let's make it a week as I have much to teach that body of yours while we hunt for your child and kidnapper." I can't disguise the mischievous smile spreading across my face.

"Deal, what first?" She says loudly letting go as if my hand was poison and jumps to business.

"Give me the rundown of the situation and who this kidnapper is and also info on your child." I order telling her what to do. I watch her flinch in small movements but she says nothing. Instead she leads me into a duplex house, door wide open, things little out of place. An older woman in about forties was inside wearing a business suit with a clip board taking notes.
