I prepared myself in the morning since Alex said that he would pick me up at 9. I shared my location with him and then waited in my apartment lobby.

I waited until a white Bugatti parked in front of the lobby. Alexander Priest opened the car door and then walked to me, "Ying Jie, let\'s go?"

I was dazed for a moment. Alex was really stunning today. He had his platinum hair styled, wearing a white suit and a strong but soft perfume that got me intoxicated for a moment.

I mean, he is stunning… as in… very flashy, kind of stunning.

Everyone around also had the same reaction as me. They took out their phone, intending to take a picture of Alex because he looked like a cartoon character came to life.

"Okay, let\'s just go now.. You\'re attracting too much attention," I said. I grabbed his hand, and we went to his car.

He drove to the office where I was supposed to have my interview, "Is it far?" I asked. I was thinking about moving to a new apartment or rented house if it was too far from Shi Qiang\'s apartment.

"Hmm, kind of, but it\'s still around Beijing, don\'t worry," Alex smiled. I glanced at him for a moment and then commented;

"You\'re really flashy today. Are you going on a date or what?"

"I am going on a date right now," Alex chuckled. "You\'re my date today, aren\'t you?"

"Eh? Me?" I blinked few times and then laughed freely. "Ahahahaha! Alex, didn\'t I tell you that you deserve to be with someone better? Seriously though, don\'t waste your time with me."

"Well, I\'d waste my time with you rather than wasting it on some random girls I don\'t like," Alex replied seriously.

I sighed. I knew that Alex was interested in me. But I really had no interest in him other than being a friend and coworker. Maybe because my heart was always beating for Meng Bao and Meng Bao only.

So even someone as amazing as Alex didn\'t budge me at all.

"Well, I just don\'t want you to feel like you\'re wasting your time. I really appreciate your help, you know," I said.

Alex only replied with a smile and when we arrived at the building. He escorted me to the CEO\'s office at the top of the building, and I saw a middle-aged man who was busy reading some documents.

The moment he saw Alex, his face brightened, and he got up, "Ah, Mr. Alex, welcome, welcome. Is this the new secretary who wants to work here?"

Alex smiled politely, "Yes, her name is Shi Ying. She has been working as a secretary for five years, and she is very competent. I can vouch for that."

I saw that Alex and this CEO were close friends, or at least, they were in a good term with each other.

The CEO looked at me, and he smiled, "My name is Lu Weiyang. You can call me Mr. Lu or Boss Lu."

"Yes, my name is Shi Ying. Nice to meet you, Boss Lu. This is a nice office to work in."

Boss Lu was pleased with my politeness, and he let us sit at the chair directly facing his.

I thought it would be an interview between Boss Lu and me. But for the whole two or three hours, it was just Boss Lu and Alex who talked about many things, business, hobbies, market, and such. I only answered when I got asked.

I didn\'t have anything against this though, as long as I could get the job, I will follow everything.

I checked my watch and saw that it was already three o\'clock. Alex and Boss Lu already chatted for almost four hours.

In the end, Boss Lu said, "You\'ll work here tomorrow. Don\'t worry about your salary, I will give the same amount as your previous job, and I will also include a bonus by the end of the month, is that okay?"

"Yes, sir, thank you very much!" I bowed my head again.

After the \'interview,\' Alex and I left the building, and we sat in his car. There was something that kept on bugging me for a while, "How come you know this new boss of mine?"

"Well, I have my own way, of course. I might not be as powerful as Yang Menghuo, but I also have my own privileges and connections," Alex chuckled. "Are you impressed? I can always give you a better job if you want."

We stopped in front of an expensive restaurant. It was definitely a fine dining restaurant. I got embarrassed, remembering that time I wanted to treat Meng Bao because I thought that he was a broke guy. He wanted to eat here, but I said this was too expensive for me.

Turned out he was a lot richer than me.

"Did you know that this place is owned by Yang Menghuo?" He said while we entered the restaurant.

Alex pulled the chair for me, and we started ordering for our early dinner.

Yang Menghuo didn\'t expect that his mother actually spiked his drink with Viagra before trapped him with those three girls, hoping that Menghuo would at least sleep with one of them.

But Yang Menghuo fought with his willpower and then break their door to escape from those women. In his mind, there was only Ying Jie who was waiting for him in Beijing. He didn\'t want to disappoint her.

Madam Yang was shocked when she saw her son breaking the door, his body was sweating, and his face was so red. She saw the girls behind was tied with a rope that Meng Bao found, so they wouldn\'t be able to take the initiative to touch Meng Bao.

Meng Bao glared hatefully at his mother. He thought that his mother would at least appreciate his choice to marry Ying Jie, but she did such an unscrupulous thing like this.

"D—Did you really hold yourself for that leftover village woman!?" Madam Yang asked out of surprise.

Meng Bao grunted out of pain and anger, "Mom, I will never let you decide on what\'s good and bad for me. You\'ve been missing in my whole life, and now you suddenly know what is the best for me and what not?!"

"Ying Jie raised me to be a good person. If it\'s not her, then I might\'ve killed you and dad at this point."

"So zip your mouth and let me decide for myself."
