Rent A Boyfriend!

Chapter 137 - PROPOSAL

"Aish, Baobao, even if you propose here, I wouldn\'t mind at all. Because what I want is you, to have you again, Yang Menghuo."

Meng Bao was speechless after I said that. He kept staring at me, and slowly, tears trickled down on his cheeks.

"W—Whoa, Meng Bao?! Why are you crying?" I asked. I pulled some tissue and wiped the tears on his cheeks. "Aish, Baobao, you\'re already twenty-five years old, but you still cry like a little baby. You\'re crying in front of your Jiejie as well. How could I marry a crybaby like you?"

"Wuwuwuwu… Jiejie, I\'m just so happy. I\'m too happy that I couldn\'t hold my tears ah. Wuwuwuwu…." Meng Bao grabbed the tissue from my hand and wiped his snot.. He was really crying ugly at this point, no more handsome Bao.

Just crybaby Bao who looked so happy and relieved.

I couldn\'t help but have tears welled up in my eyes because I was also grateful that Meng Bao wanted to stay with me, stay loyal to someone he fell in love with fifteen years ago.

"Ying Jie, you said that you want me to be a successful, rich person in the future when I was about to be taken by my parents. Do you know that I am quite rich now? I have a lot of money. In fact, I can provide for your family for seven generations with luxury…." Meng Bao said.

"I had many sleepless nights because I\'m worried that you\'ve forgotten about me. I want to be the best version of myself when I met you again. That\'s why I worked hard to be rich with my own handwork…."

"I\'m even richer than my parents, so there shouldn\'t be a family drama."

"Jiejie, when I say that nothing is stopping me from loving you, then there is literally nothing that can stop me," Yang Menghuo said.

I\'ve heard from Mr. Yang Zhuhuo that his son, Yang Menghuo, was a lazy guy who did nothing other than playing golf or having lunch or dinner with some people.

But I guess it was just because of generation difference.

Meng Bao worked efficiently, while his dad worked traditionally as an office worker, albeit having a big position.

I started imagining how much pain Meng Bao had to bear because he worked alone. Mr. Yang said that both he and Madam Yang never supported Meng Bao because he refused to work with Mr. Yang and take over the business. He also refused to work with Madam Yang in the fashion industry, even though he was perfect to be a model.

Everything about Meng Bao\'s facial feature was in harmony, a golden ratio, what they called it.

"Bao, I don\'t understand how you could spend so much time for someone like me…." I commented. "I\'m not beautiful. I don\'t have a wealthy family background. You have a lot of admirers, I suppose…."

Meng Bao was surprised when I said that. He shook his head many times, "No, no, no! Jie is the most beautiful woman I\'ve ever seen in my life. You\'re perfect in every way! In fact, if you went and auditioned for Miss Universe, I\'m sure that you will get the first win! You\'re Miss Universe of the Universe! Trust me, Jie!"

Okay, that one, I think if I joined Miss Universe for real, Meng Bao would find a way to rig the vote and make me rank 1. I just knew that he would do it.

I still didn\'t understand what made him so enamored with me. But I guess love was really blind.

He had countless women trying to get close to him, and they were all beautiful. Even that Li Daiyu was really beautiful in my realistic standard.

But Meng Bao still chose me over someone like Li Daiyu.

I chuckled and gave my hand in front of him, "Well, Meng Bao, you\'re the only man who wants me. So I will be yours. Why don\'t you put a ring on it?"

"N—NO! Ying Jie, plenty men want you, but I just make sure that they—" Meng Bao gulped and paused. He shook his head, "Nevermind, Jie."

Wait, what was that pause? Don\'t tell me that Meng Bao really killed all my potential suitors?

No, no, I don\'t think Meng Bao was that crazy. Maybe he just silenced them all? Making sure that they won\'t get close to me anymore?

Oh well, as long as he doesn\'t do some crazy stuff.

Meng Bao took the ring from the box and then put it slowly on my ring finger. It fit perfectly, like Cinderella\'s glass slipper.

It was a Cinderella\'s Ring.

Meng Bao kissed my hand and looked up, staring at me, "Ying Jie, I\'ve searched for you for fifteen years to no avail. But the god of fate guided us together with that application, Rent A Boyfriend, and here we are…."

"I will make sure to give you the greatest wedding, Jie…." Yang Menghuo looked around. He was grieving that he couldn\'t propose a better place instead.

"I will also propose to you twice, in a proper place that will make you see me as a worth suitor—"

I crouched slowly and hugged him gently. I rested my body on his embrace as he also responded to my hug by wrapping me tightly in his strong arms.

"Jie, you\'re so warm," Meng Bao said. "I\'m the luckiest suitor in the world."

"What do you mean? You\'re already my only suitor and the one who gives me assurance, Meng Bao…." I replied. "I don\'t need a great place, as long as I\'m with you."

"But, you\'re worth everything in this world, Jie. You should have the best this world could offer…." Meng Bao didn\'t want to yield.

I sighed defeatedly, "Alright, you do whatever you want."

"I want to plan for our engagement first. But then I realized that we\'re not yet bound together until we\'re married. So we can just skip the engagement stuff and go straight to marriage, wedding, and then first night!."

"Aish, I know that you keep thinking about the first night!" I yelled at Meng Bao. But Meng Bao only replied with a chuckle.

"I can\'t help but expecting it, Jie," Meng Bao giggled perversely. "Especially like this, your boobs are pressing against me. It\'s so soft, ehe... ehehehe..."

I immediately pushed Meng Bao and separated myself. Meng Bao fell backward, and his head hit the drawer behind him, "OUCH!"

I snorted, full of contempt, "Hmph! We\'re not married yet! There\'s no such thing as dirty talk!"

"Wu… I was enjoying it, you know…." Meng Bao rubbed his head. He got up and continued, "Well, Jiejie, why don\'t we tell your parents about this? They said they\'ll give us their blessing."

"Well, we can tell them during dinner. Now you have to take a bath, and I have to change my shirt. We will go to the store near the gate. I need to buy meat for dinner!"

"Ah, let me call my driver to—"

"Huh? We don\'t need a driver! I can just use my bicycle to go there ah!" I replied.

**

It took thirty minutes for both of us to get ready. We went out, and I took the bicycle leaning near the door. I hopped and patted the backseat, "Hop in, Bao."

Meng Bao looked humiliated, he reluctantly hopped in, and I started pedaling. I noticed that he kept sulking on our way to the store, and I asked, "Why are you sulking? Are you mad because you have to use an old bike?"

"No."

"Then why?"

"Because I can\'t ride a bicycle. I don\'t want to tire you out, Jie…." Meng Bao explained. "I will learn how to ride a bike, so we can take turns…."

I chuckled and pedaled faster, "Ah, Baobao, your Jie is a strong woman. This doesn\'t tire me at all!"

We bought the meat enough for the whole family, and we returned to the farm.

But something was wrong when we finally arrived. So many cars surrounded the farm, and many men in black were standing near the door.

I frowned and asked Meng Bao, "Are they your men? Why do you need to bring them here? You know it might scare my parents, right?"

Meng Bao went silent for a moment and shook his head, "That\'s not my men, Ying Jie. But I know who has come here."

Meng Bao refused to tell more, which got me worried.

We stopped near the door, and I threw the bicycle. Meng Bao and I went inside the house, as the men in black gave us way in.

The moment I entered, I saw a woman wearing a crimson dress. She was sitting on a chair that looked luxurious, which was definitely brought from outside because my parents wouldn\'t have enough money to buy a new chair like that.

She sat cross-legged in front of my parents, who were still wearing their regular old shirts.

The moment that woman saw me, she chuckled and said sarcastically, "Ah, so it\'s you, Secretary Shi."
