Rent A Boyfriend!

Chapter 120 - HIDING BATMAN JIE'S STUFF!

[Yang Menghuo POV]

After having lunch as four, Aunty Shi said, "Shi Ying, you should show him the guest room. Don\'t forget to show him where the bathroom is. I will go to the front village and buy some food for dinner ah. I will cook hot pot for dinner."

"Hot pot? Do you have enough money for it, mom?" Shi Ying took out her wallet immediately and gave her mom some money, but Aunty Shi refused.

"No, no, Shi Qiang already transferred me some yesterday. She said it\'s a bonus from her boyfriend, who also apparently has the same hobby as you two," Aunty Shi rolled her eyes.. "I don\'t understand what\'s with your weird hobby. At least you don\'t turn lesbian ah…."

Aunty Shi left Shi Ying and Yang Menghuo. She went out and used an old bicycle. Meanwhile, Uncle Shi just stared at Menghuo and then said, "I will go and herd the cows. You city boy might never try doing it, but you should help me herding the cows and sheep. Shi Ying often helps me when she was younger."

"Really?" Yang Menghuo looked surprised. "Jie, you\'re herding the cows?"

"But of course! I help with everything on the farm and everything that my dad is doing!" Shi Ying said proudly. "I herd the cows and sheep, feeding chickens and pigs. I basically help with everything I can!"

Shi Ying was so proud when she said that, as if she didn\'t have any shame of doing a farmer\'s work. Which was rare, knowing that many people didn\'t want to be associated with poor village farmers, especially women.

Because it looked unladylike.

"Wow! Ying Jie is so amazing!" Menghuo\'s eyes glimmered full of adoration for his Ying Jie. He sincerely thought that his Jie was amazing because Ying Jie looked like Batman Jie.

Back then, Batman Jie said that she was busy with many things when she couldn\'t visit Mengmeng. She would usually herd the cows or helping her father to sell the chickens to the front village elder who would bring them to the city.

Honestly, Yang Menghuo wanted to try herding cows or feeding the pigs, very mundane life of a village farmer. Since his farm in Switzerland was too automatized and advanced, some activities like herding the cows were done with robots nowadays.

After Uncle Shi left, Shi Ying dragged her Meng Bao to the guest room, where he would stay.

"And here you are, the guest room," Shi Ying opened the old door and showed a very plain room. The room was painted white probably years ago because it started showing some aging on the wall. The bed was just a regular single bed with an old bedsheet, and there was a mirror hanging near the window.

Shi Ying actually felt a bit embarrassed by it. She wasn\'t embarrassed with her home, but she felt sorry for Meng Bao because this guy was obviously loaded since birth but now forced to sleep in such a shabby room.

"I\'m sorry ah, it doesn\'t look luxurious, haha!" Shi Ying laughed awkwardly. "Don\'t worry about the bedsheet. It\'s been washed before you came. It\'s just my parents who refused to throw something that\'s still usable ah!"

Yang Menghuo looked around. He didn\'t have anything against this room. Although it wasn\'t something that he used to, it was still a proper room for a guest like him.

But then he noticed few old posters that showed Andy Lau and Jimmy Lin behind the door, "Ah, Jie… what\'s with these old posters?"

"Ahh, those are my old posters. This room was my old room before my dad expanded the house," Shi Ying replied. "Uh… if you don\'t like it, I think you can use Shi Qiang\'s room. She\'s still in the city, and her room is always empty."

"No, no, no!" Menghuo suddenly refused to change room and sat on the bed. "I will stay here! This is your old room, Jie!"

"Meng Bao, you\'re weird," Shi Ying rolled her eyes. But she didn\'t care much. Meng Bao was always a little bit weird anyway.

"Do you want to come to my room? I can show you an amazing view from my room," she offered.

"I—Is this…." Yang Menghuo gulped. "You\'re allowing me to come to your room? But I didn\'t bring… you know…."

Shi Ying took the nearest stack of pillows near the door and then threw it to Meng Bao, "You damn pervert! I just want to show you the view from the window!"

Yang Menghuo caught the pillow and replied with a disappointed \'ah\' voice before following his Jie to her room. He really thought about something wild when Ying Jie said that.

Shi Ying entered her room. It had been a while since the last time she entered this room, but she was lucky that her mom cleaned the room once a week, so there was no excessive dust or spiderwebs.

Shi Ying looked around, scanning her room over something that might be suspicious to Meng Bao. Then she realized her stacks of BL books she collected since high school, including many naked men posters she took from adult magazines while she was in high school.

Her face paled as she realized that Meng Bao might saw what a promiscuous lady she was. Thus she slammed the door right in front of Meng Bao\'s face and yelled from inside, "Meng Bao, wait a minute! I\'m going to clean some stuff first!"

Shi Ying then hurriedly took down all the crazy posters hanging on the walls and put them inside a box. She stored all the suspicious things about BL as well, then realized that she still had all things about her being Batman Jie hanging on the wall.

From her mask as Batman Jie, her cape, and also stuff that Mengmeng gave her, such as a ring, bracelet, and even necklace. Shi Ying knew everything was expensive. She could just sell this for money. She couldn\'t use it anymore anyway because it was all child-sized, especially the ring and bracelet.

But Mengmeng said that she would return to her, Batman Jie, and they would get married. They would live a happy life together. It was indeed something that Shi Ying wanted deep in her heart.

So she kept these gifts from Mengmeng for fifteen years, just like Cinderella\'s glass slippers, hoping that Mengmeng would come to her soon.

\'Ah, I wonder where is Mengmeng now. If she\'s an adult now, and she saw this ring, will she still remember our promise?\' Shi Ying pondered.

These gifts were also something that she treasured a lot. Thus she put everything about Batman Jie and Mengmeng inside the big box, slid it under her bed, and then opened the door for Meng Bao.

"Come in. The view from my window is amazing!" Shi Ying said. She grabbed Meng Bao\'s hand and pulled him in.

She pulled him to sit by the large windowsill, enough to fit for two or three people to sit.

"Sit here ah!" Shi Ying patted the spot beside her, and they sat on the windowsill.

Shi Ying opened the window and showed a beautiful scenery of mountainous area around her farm.

"Wha…" Yang Menghuo was amazed by the lush greenery, followed by waves of mountains far from his sight. The air was really fresh, and Yang Menghuo took a deep breath as he stared at the view and then stared at his Ying Jie who was sitting sideways on the windowsill.

He kept staring at his Jie until his hands moved by their own and slowly hugged Ying Jie from behind. He rested his chin on her shoulder while continued watching the scenery.

Shi Ying jolted the moment she felt pair of strong arms engulfed around her waist, but then, she could feel the warm breath near her neck. It was Meng Bao who rested his chin on her shoulder.

Shi Ying smiled and then ruffled Meng Bao\'s hair, "What is it?"

"Nothing, Jie. I just want to hug you…." Yang Menghuo replied.

They enjoyed the view for a while until Yang Menghuo suddenly asked, "Ying Jie, do you ever have something that you treasured a lot?"

"Hm? Why do you ask?"

"I\'m just… curious…."

"Hmm…" Shi Ying immediately remembered the stuff that Mengmeng gave her. Also, her memory as Batman Jie was such a precious memory that she wouldn\'t trade for anything.

"I did have a memory with certain someone when I was a kid," Shi Ying reminisced her sweet memory with Mengmeng. "I often helped my dad back then because we were trying to raise more money. Because of my uncle\'s crazy spending for gambling, he sold everything that our late grandpa had. Then he just ran away, leaving his daughter with us."

"The debt collectors then keep coming to our house, demanding the money that was borrowed by my uncle in the name of my dad. So we had to sell everything, literally everything that we had until we only had enough to buy this land for us to settle again."
