[At Border land]

"Kill her.....She is devil's spawn."

"She has fallen in the abbys, let death be her release..."

"Hang her...Hang the evil witch..."

Different voices echoed throughout the place, people were screaming, they were shouting, cursing, waving torches and spears. The situation was chaotic ,a petite figure ,arms locked and chained to pillars on both sides was standing in the middle of the gathering.

She body was trembling as she forced herself to stand straight, the cold of obviously effecting her.

[God's lock of Retribution] hang around her neck, apparently the girl was a [Witch] ,the lock sealed her powers while the crowd urged Roland, the fourth prince to pass the verdict.

Roland laid his eyes on the figure before him, she had an average height and petite figure, nothing else could be seen as her body was covered by a brownish-black ragged cloak.

'So this is a witch.....' he thought while remembering the fact that this was his first time seeing a [Witch] since he came to this world.

'The magic flowing in this world is different from the extraordinary character ,but it doesn't have the risk of losing control.'

Roland's face held a boring expression on his face, he observed his surroundings and noted that everyone was constantly focusing on the figure.

"Your Highness please pass the verdict...." The ȧssistant minister who accompanied Roland to [Border-land] urged his prince, Roland to pass the verdict and end the life of the Witch.

"The verdict will be postponed tomorrow as I am too tired to pass the judgement, till then lock her up in the prison." He slowly stood up from his seat and walked towards the old castle.

The pondering expression on Roland's face appeared as he thought about getting the witch to work for him shouldn't be hard. He had used the [Coin-tose divination] to determine the success rate.

"Your Highness, please stay !!! You can't afford to joke here, we can't be sure that our prison could hold a witch." Said Sir Carter, the chief knight responsible for Roland's protection.

"She can't use her powers due to the [God's lock of Retribution], for now she is a normal individual, as for whether she dies today or tomorrow, it doesn't matter." Roland walked forward while watching the guard take away the girl.

"Sir Carter, today some guests will be coming to the castle so please welcome them and prepare some rooms for them." Kite, along with the three witches will be arriving today at the [Border town].

"Very well, as you wish....Your Highness." Said Barov as the group made their way to the castle.

Roland entered his study and asked Barov to bring the major information on the [Border-land] ,also to summon the Head jailer in his study.

Barov was an elderly man, probably in his 50s or 60s ,he was partially bald ,a little fat ,wore brown leather boots, brown shirt. His expression was passive ,he held a quell and paper in his hands.

He nodded, acknowledging his Prince, Roland's wish. He watched the prince with a complicated gaze, he always thought that this individual was a worthless garbage, but who knew that the fourth prince had always kept himself hidden, bidding time for his attack.

"Your Highness, can you tell me why save the witch ????, They are devil's spawn...If the church knew about this then it would lead to heavy consequences....." Said the minister.

Roland glanced at him and let out a smile ," Tell me Barov, for this [War for crown] who will benefit the most....????"

Hearing Roland's words Barov frowned ,but answered after thinking for sometime "The church, will benefit the most."

"Exactly, they are trying to take over the kingdom under the banner of god. What do you think will happen, I know of your ambitions ,do you think the church will let you ascend to new heights under there control.....Even if they do ,you will be nothing more than their puppet."

"So as they say, enemy of my enemy is my friend ,they think that witches are evil, then tell me how ???, The fear of the unknown is the only reason the people listen to the church."

"If we can have them on our side, not only we will be able to content against the church but you to will become the [Hand of the King] once I ascend the throne." Roland reasoned with Barov, successfully convincing him to support him.

He bowed before asking "Your Highness, please command this servant....."

The jailer wasn't quite old, around 35s or 40s but according to the report of given by Barov, his ȧssistant minister it was certain that he was a corrupt individual who has helped many death row prisoner escape.

Roland had already decided to kill every corrupt individual in the town before reforming the place into the capital, but this person still had some value.

According to Barov, traces of a large group of witches were found in the forest, the emblem of [Witch Corporation Association] were found at the scene.

According to Roland, if they knew that the girl that he had captured was alive, they would surely try to rescue her. When they do so ,there is a high chance of success of gaining more information or more witches.

Roland had already 'divined above the gray fog' and had got clear result of success with no danger whatsoever.

"I want you to find a death row prisoner with a similar figure as that witch and hang her in place of the witch." Said Roland in an indifferent tone.

Even though the jailer had heard about nobles keeping witches, he was still astonished by the fact that even the fourth prince of the Kingdom is willing to do so, moreover at this time when he needs to ascend the throne.

Still....He didn't say anything as he knew that he couldn't refuse or even his body wouldn't be found.

"Yes !!!! Your Highness, your wish is my command." Saying he turned to leave before a voice halted his steps.

"Wait....!!!" Roland tossed a pouch full of 20 gold coins at the jailer who caught it with trembling hands and bowed.

"Thank you !!!!,Your Highness.....For your generosity." Said the jailer before leaving the study.
