Descent of the Demon God

Chapter 5

A young man with long black hair was glancing around with sharp eyes that resembled a sword. He alone seemed to be in a different historical period. This man was Chun Yeowun, the 24th Lord of the Great Demonic Cult and he was also nicknamed as the Demon God in Jianghu Yulin. He was cold-hearted and not much bothered him usually, but he was quite irritated at the moment.

‘We… are in the future?’

If what ‘Nano’ said was true, this here was surely a far future from his own time. Everything here was awkward. From the asphalt ground to the highrise buildings built with concrete, everything here was something that did not exist in the time where Chun Yeowun used to live.

‘What’s up with their clothing?’

Most people were wearing very tight clothes with varying colors and various looks. And for some women, skirts were so short that their thighs revealed a lot. It was as if Chun Yeowun had reached an imaginary place.

‘It feels weird.’

And there was one more thing Chun Yeowun that thought was very weird.

‘The air is dirty.’

The surrounding air and all the energy in the atmosphere felt dirty. He felt as if there were all sorts of dirty elements in it. Chun Yeowun was now a Heavenly Master level warrior, who could sense the great nature and become one with it, so he was able to sense this clearly.

‘A lower stage martial artist will have a hard time meditating in this tainted air and gaining their energy.’

Dirty energy was actually harmful to the body. Those martial artists of the Forces of Justice who trained with their religious ways would be afraid of such dirtiness. But it didn’t affect Chun Yeowun. He had a way to purify this energy for his own, and with all the Sources of the Five Spirits consumed within him, he was able to create natural elemental energy infinitely, which allowed him to not rely on meditating.

“Aaaaaaargh! MY ARM!!!”

Yeowun looked down at the police officer rolling on the ground while grabbing his twisted arm. Yeowun just twisted the arm of the officer who was trying to arrest him just now.

‘So, these people are like peacekeepers of this era?’

[Yes, Master.]

Nano explained that these people with uniforms were peacekeepers working for the government of the era. It was close to a soldier, but it didn’t stop Yeowun from twisting the arm, since he wasn’t even afraid of the Emperor in his own time.

‘This is frustrating.’

It was frustrating because he had dropped in the middle of a crowd with so many people watching him. Over a hundred people had gathered to see what was going on. Counting all the people watching from high-rise buildings above, it was going to be a few hundred at least. That’s when Yeowun heard a man shout.

“It is illegal to attack a PSB Agent! You must get down on your knees with your arms high and surrender! I will shoot if you do not comply!”

A man in his mid-thirties who just got here was aiming a gun at him. The man was Yimyung, the 3rd Team Leader of the PSB of Simyung City. Kneeling with his arms held high was the same thing as telling Yeowun to surrender. Yeowun became uncomfortable and asked Nano in his head, ‘Nano, can’t you gather information yet?’

[There is an active signal disrupting the connection to the network. It is not possible to access it at the moment.]

‘Hmph.’

Chun Yeowun shook his head. After these ‘police officers’ arrived at the scene, Nano’s connection to the web stopped. Chun Yeowun did not know much about this world. But he had figured ‘Nano’ who was built in the future, would know about this world. Yeowun ordered Nano to extract basic information about this era and transfer it to his brain, but he didn’t imagine it to be disrupted in the middle of its process.

‘What should I do then?’

Yeowun became hesitant. It was easy to get away from the scene and just hide. Nano also said that if he can get away from the disruption range, then it was going to be possible to reconnect to the network.

‘But there’s one that gets on my nerves.’

There was one distinct person that Chun Yeowun could sense. There was a person eyeing him carefully from one of the buildings across the street. Because of that person, Yeowun was able to confirm that this world was not entirely different from the world he was familiar with.

‘I guess it’s better I get away for now.’

He had gathered too much attention. He wasn’t informed of this world yet, and it was possible that he could get into more annoying trouble if he caused more issues. Right when Yeowun was about to step out to move…

“Final warning! Get down on your knees!!”

Yimyung, the 3rd team leader of the Homicides Department shouted. He was having difficulty pulling the trigger since so many people were around, but his instinct was telling him something.

‘That man is dangerous.’
