Chapter 29 - Shall We Begin

As Philip relaxed in the pool, small orbs of light began to glitter in the water. The orbs swirled about and then began to be attracted to Philip like moths to a lamp. The scene looked like a gathering of fireflies as the tiny light orbs were absorbed into Philip's body through all his pores. This was the Qi in the Spirit Water being gathered as Philip meditated his cultivation technique. If other members of the Nyasanga Clan, especially the elders saw this scene they would be absolutely astonished. The could at best get three or four particles at a go to be attracted to them. They were also attracted far more slowly. Even so they were extremely proud of their swift progress and the rapid increase in their might. Of course this was due to the extremely high quality of the techniques bestowed upon them. Weaker cultivation techniques would not show such obvious and immediate effects. If anything gathering a Qi particle with their low level would take several days. One had to remember, a single very first particle was the basis of skipping a whole stage at their level. As Qi swiftly gathered towards Philip a dark cloud also began to loom over the Worlds Edge Mountain. At first it was a small cloud, but then it swiftly began to increase in size as time passed. A third eye made of blue light appeared on Philip's forehead and opened its gaze. Qi stopped gathering in Philip's body and was madly redirected towards the eye. This continued for a long while until the eye shut itself on its own and descended back into Philip's forehead. At this point the dark cloud outside was twice it's original size and thick bolts of lightning could be seen flickering inside it. A small bump then appeared on Philip's forehead, and a thin slit cut across the bump horizontally. At this point, Philip directly stood up and opened his eyes. The water in the pool settled and the Qi light orbs slowly dimmed and vanished. When Philip gazed up up and saw the dark cloud through the cave rocks, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Mortal worlds truly are different, a cultivation ordeal at such a low level, hahaha!"

He reigned in his aura, and the clouds outside seemed to have lost their target. They thunder calmed and the dark clouds dissipated as if they had never appeared in the first place. Cultivation was essentially a mortal going against the heavens and becoming a God. There were in fact natural born Gods, at he beginning of a world, born from the world. Other than these, any other creature would be considered mortal, and any attempts to become a God would receive the retribution of the heavens. This was what was known as a cultivation ordeal. Any cultivator worth their salt would have to survive them to continue cultivating. Of course failure would result in total death in body and soul, the heavens directly eliminating all threats. Cowardly cultivators could simply chose to suppress their cultivation, not daring to advance, but even with much longer lifespan, time would eventually catch up with them. Such was the sharp threat of death looming over cultivators heads. In the greater Starry Sky, [Qi Condensation Level] cultivators were still considered mortal. It was the next level that was considered the doorstop of actual cultivation, where the body could no longer be said to be completely mortal, and someone became a cultivator. This was the [Foundation Establishment Level]. Unlike [Qi Condensation] which had nine stages, [Foundation Establishment] only had four. Experts at this level were ranked by how far they were in establishing their foundation. It was split into [Early Foundation Establishment], [Middle Foundation Establishment], [Late Foundation Establishment] and [Peak Foundation Establishment] . In larger worlds, humans were born at this stage, or as peak ninth stage [Qi Condensation] newborns. As such, [Foundation Establishment] did not garner the wrath of the heavens, since it was the weakest level. In fact, most people in such worlds did not have cultivation methods for [Qi Condensation]. However,Mithamo had descended into a small mortal world in the edge of the eastern starry sky, a remote amongst remote places. Here, he was already miles stronger than any other life form just by being so close to entering [Foundation Establishment]. Hence the havens of the world reacted where it usually would not. The dark clouds that suddenly vanished had caught the attention of the whole clan, especially Chief Saito who was nearby. However, nothing really shocked him a lot these days when he thought that his son was now a God. Toying with the weather might not be too difficult, after all, stories of Gods enacting their wrath using weather calamities abounded since time immemorial. Maybe he was just too weak to pull it off at a godly scale right now, but it could definitely not be written off. Convinced by his own assumptions, Chief Saito headed into the topmost cavern to meet with Philip. He found him just leaving the cultivation pool and bowed with respect. "Young Master, the preparations are all ready now." he reported. "Wonderful, lets go!" Philip beamed a smile. A fur half coat levitated by itself towards him and he casually put in on like its normal. Paired with his leather pants and childish looks, it gave a large contrast of a cute little boy actually being the strongest being around. Chief Saito led the way and they soon returned to the central square of the clan. All the clansmen had gathered around and they all looked at the young boy with reverence. It the recent months they had all been cultivating the techniques of a God and they all felt the mighty strength coursing through their bodies. Even the old and frail clan members could now easily lift giant rocks on the mountainside. What was even more shocking was that this was only the tip of the bottomless iceberg that was a God according to the clan elders. How could they not be excited when he had summoned the whole clan? Philip lifted his hand and all the murmurs quieted down. "Thank you for your efforts, shall we begin then?" he said. "Begin, begin what?" Chief Saito couldn't help but ask.
