Daniel got up from his lying position in the bed then sat cross-legged on it while he took a pondering look on his face his hand was under his chin as he thought about something very hard:

"What were those images I saw during my sleep, very strange it looked like some DNA patterns?"

While Daniel had missing memories that didn't mean he did not know about basic stuff, he knew basic biology and other basic knowledge such as math basic psychics, etc., he missed most of his personal life memories and his personality was altered while his useful knowledge was left out.

As he thought more he realized those DNA patterns were DNA helixes those were the things that kept the human body whole and it pertained to the evolution of the humans!

If anything happened to the DNA at the microscopic level things would change over time in the human's body, if anything bad happened to the DNA your death was certain. Of course, some things could be beneficial to the DNA like the Z Gene, or the good mutations that strengthened humanity.

Of course, he didn't try to sleep again Ropego knew of his schedule and if he slept more he would have made the cat suspicious of him?

Then he suddenly thought:

"Wait why do I have to worry if he is suspicious of me?" It seemed some of his memories were starting to awaken slowly but surely, Daniel clutched his head as he remembered how his brain was on full view being dissected then rearranged while they stuffed strange liquids in it. Baidoa and Ropego who was on his shoulder were viewing things from behind a glass window.

Daniel shook his head as the images disappeared from his view then he became thoroughly enraged:

"That cat... he is been controlling me goddamit!" He was ready to punch a hole in a nearby wall but stopped himself at the last second, Ropego was still nearby and he wasn't sure of all the cat's talents, anything that would make the cat suspicious of him would make the cat keep its guard up around him making him unable to catch him easily then get all of his memories back with its help.

Daniel sighed then controlled his rage, it was still there but he bottled it up within himself and put on a normal face, there was nothing he could do right now, he didn't know where the other man who observed him was nor how he was involved in his brainwashing.

Daniel shook his head then left the room, Baidoa and Ropego didn't know that things were already getting sour for them, they didn't know that their plans were getting shaken at the core right now.

Even though some of his memories were back, he still had to put up the same front as ever, trying to help everyone and kill the Z Gene rogue users and zombies. He wanted answers about his memories, and he wanted them sooner than later!

Daniel met back with Ropego in the city lord's main building where Ropego informed him of all the things that happened during his sleep.

There wasn't anything big and there was some good news, Ropego found a capable secretary and someone who could do all of the paperwork after he left!

They were one woman and man from the slums, they were accountants before the tragedy that left the earth in its current state unfolded. With their meager ability, they couldn't do anything besides remaining in the slums, in this world now might make right instead of brains, the other city lord gave no fucks about the paperwork so he didn't hire anyone. He only wanted strong people under his leadership.

This lead however to the rich people of the city to abuse their power and get lots of riches and resources.

As Ropego introduced the two of them which were called Riarina and Sabat Daniel was looking at the reports of Silvester and Dabo, Ropego coughed then told the two of them what should they do and what documents they can't touch while Daniel was still in the city.

Riarina and Sabat nodded at Ropego's words not being insulted by Daniel ignoring them they were small fries who were supposed to do things that were too boring for the city lord to do, as long as they got enough food and water to live they didn't care what happened to them.

Ropego shook his head at Daniel's antics then said:

"Daniel after we take care of the repossession of goods and resources we should leave this city if you didn't know we have to get at least ninety nine more cities before we could have said we toured the whole earth, this one is a small city with only a few of tens of millions of people, there are a lot of cities like these but there are also cities with hundreds of millions, all one hundred remaining cities make up the remaining one billion or so people left on the planet since you took over one city I think you should take over more, wouldn't that be great in saving the people of the planet? We already did such a good job here!"

Ropego was trying to manipulate Daniel into capturing more cities after Daniel had a huge enough force Baidoa would make him and Costil clash killing all of the humans under his and Costil leadership which he would then funnel into the both of them making them awaken their helix tree to the maximum!

Afterward, he would make one eat the other to create the perfect being!

This was his sick and twisted plan killing the whole world population to create the strongest being on Earth then letting it leave for the grander universe! The people of Earth weren't sure if they were the only ones alive in the Universe or if there were other habitable planets out there but Baidoa thought this was the only way for the race to survive!

Daniel nodded at Ropego keeping up the facade that he was still getting easily manipulated by the crafty feline.

He decided he would take the field for the last job as the city lord, he contacted Dabo and Silvester and told them it was time to repossess all of the resources that the city lord neglected leaving them in the hands of greedy merchants and 'nobles' of the city.

Daniel left the city lord's building with Ropego on his shoulder and met in the middle of the city with his new city guard and his trusted followers, the new city guard immediately saluted him and said in a loud tone of voice in unison:

"We greet the city lord!"

The sound was so high that some nearby glass windows broke but the owners couldn't say anything in fear of the city lords power.

The middle of the city was where all of the rich people of the city where living, Daniel already had a list of people who took over resources they shouldn't have touched. The city guard already made their way towards the first house on the list with Daniel spearheading the operation.

A tiny man with a mustache and a third eye in the middle of his forehead opened the somewhat luxurious house door he was wearing a long blue robe and a gold chain on his fattish neck, he immediately started to shake the moment he saw Daniel and the city guard. People already saw the portrait of Daniel the moment he was instated as city lord, Ropego made sure that everyone knew who the city lord was and he sent the previous city guards that were under the previous city lord orders to share the portrait with everyone in the city.

Thus everyone knew how the new city lord looked, the tiny man bowed quickly then said in a low voice:

"What did this subordinate do to warrant the city lords visit?" Daniel chuckled coldly then said:

"Don't you think you are a bit brazen? Captol you should know why I'm here while the last city lord didn't care much about these type of resources, I as the city lord think that everyone should be enjoying them!"

The man known as Captol started to sweat intensely at Daniel's words combined with his shaking it was a pretty amusing sight for the city guards. The man knew that Daniel took out the city lord in one fell swoop by one of his connections in the previous city guard, he decided that he couldn't make enemies with such a powerful man so easily, even though he smuggled some resources he couldn't hire any powerful mutants to protect them, he did it covertly thinking that he wouldn't be caught considering the previous city lord didn't care about such things.

But it seemed he still made a mistake in the end not thinking about. What if a new city lord came and he was different from the previous one?

The answer was that all of his plundered resources were confiscated and distributed to the people. As Daniel made his way at confiscating smuggled and stolen resources he finally got some resistance at the end of the list.

A muscular man with a single eye and four legs stood in front of an average height man with shaggy green hair and pale complexion, both of them wore a special type of armor made from titanium alloy painted in a deep red.

They were protecting the last merchant's stolen resources, they were two strong mutants who escaped the clutches of the city lord and aligned themselves with the strongest merchant in the city.

Daniel shook his head at both of them then he looked behind them and saw the man he was supposed to confiscate the resources from.

He was extremely tall sitting at two meters and fifty centimeters, but he had no muscle mass he was thin as a match and his shifty eyes were green, he was bald and he had a tattoo on his head which depicted a burning church and devil's horns.

Daniel didn't know the meaning of the tattoo but Ropego narrowed his eyes at it immediately recognizing it, It was the tattoo of a famous scavenger organization that was almost equal to their bunker!

Of course, the bunker had better technology than the rag-tag scavengers, but the scavengers also had some strong mutants that took some strange gene liberation potations similar to the Z Gene, even though inferior to the Z Gene in the quality, they made it up with quantity!

The man is known as Bialboa and he ran his merchant company here for only a few years but he rose at the top fairly easily, it was obvious he was a mole planted here by the scavenger organization known as the Devil's burning church.

Ropego whispered all of this information in Daniel's ear the moment he examined the tattoo better and realized where he was from.

Daniel narrowed his eyes at Ropego's words and put a hand forward indicating for all of the guards and Silvester and Dabo to not interfere. He was going to do things alone!

He wasn't going to be going easy on the two guards in front of him, he directly appeared in front of the four-legged man and his muscles started to enlarge at high speeds transforming him into a behemoth of a man, he wanted to end everything at quick speeds and not waste time around!

The four-legged man's eyes widened in surprise and let out a yelp, but he couldn't dodge in time and he got squashed into a meat patty! While the two of them were strong mutants they weren't members of Devil's burning church so they didn't have their genes awakened by some gene serum.

The two of them were like children in front of Daniel's extreme speed and power, the other man could do nothing as his fate was the same as the four-legged man, both became meat patty's which with the approval of Daniel were then eaten by Silvester and Dabo!

The 'merchant' from Devil's burning church narrowed his eyes at the quick death of his two subordinates but then he started laughing ominously as he seemingly remembered something when he took a better look at Ropego then said:

"So it's you people from the Iron Bunker, do you think that we Devil's burning church are easy targets? we wanted this city first but you now interfere huh? whatever let's see how you will catch me!"

The man disappeared like a mirage but Ropego suddenly seemingly caught a whiff of something and slashed in a certain direction leaving an image of a claw speeding towards the direction he took a whiff in at high speeds, then a scream was heard as the man found his leg slashed off the bone and all!

Ropego smirked to himself, the man had awakened a speed type gene that made him extremely quick but Ropego had a similar gene himself so he knew how to counter such type of people!

Daniel appeared above the man immediately and tried to interrogate him but the man chuckled then bit his tongue killing himself instantly. While the Devil's burning church would be alerted by the man's death when they investigated Daniel had no more information!

Even though Ropego knew some basic information about the church he did not know about their inside workings.

Daniel shook his head and made his guards wrap up the rest of the resources and distribute them fairly, there was nothing he could do right now considering the man was dead or could he?

He suddenly remembered the circumstances of Dabo's revival even though the gas couldn't enter the inner city he would be able to get some gas if he left for the outer city or even outside the city.

Daniel smiled as he took the man's corpse and instructed everyone on what to do after he left, he made sure everything was going as it was supposed to since after he left now he wouldn't be coming back in a long while.

Ropego used the chip implanted in his brain to call Baidoa and make him send some gas towards the outer city so they could revive the member of the Devil's burning church.

With the help of the gas and some leftover meat from some zombies they gave him back the ability to talk, now that Ropego could also restrain him thoroughly so he couldn't take his life again they could start to interrogation process!

With the help of Ropego's expertise in torture, they made him talk after a few hours, thus he spilled the beans, he wasn't a high ranked member of the organization thus he didn't know much, he only told them a bit of the inner workings of the church as well as the ranks.

The ranks would go as follows: Deviling< Little Devil< Mature Devil< Devil Lord< Devil Duke< Devil God.

He was only a little Deviling not even aware of most of the Church's plans he was made to take over this city for reasons unknown to him, he only knew he would have been rewarded handsomely with some gene strengthening serum which maybe could even let him increase in rank and become a Little Devil.

After Daniel got all the information out of him he shook his head then killed him again and absorbed his blood, Daniel started to care less and less who he killed or what he did unless they were innocents before he had some misgivings at draining his opponents of blood but the moment he took a bite of the giants heart unconsciously his mortal compass started to haywire.

Daniel sighed then left the city leaving all of the work he did behind believing in Silvester and Dabo to do a great job in protecting the city. He also lifted the ban of them eating meat, but they couldn't eat the meat of any innocent people or city residents. They could only eat zombies or invaders!

Daniel still had a long journey in front of him, it was unknown how long it would be and how hard it would be, but he was ready to face everything that would come at him head-on with the determination to recover his memories and remember what he lost.
