The Tale Of Three Sisters

Chapter 40 - Goodbye My Love!

Kedes went to the girl\'s side, looking at her face.

Surprisingly, the girl was no longer crying and hysterical, there was a calm expression on her face which wasn\'t there before.

"Child, are you okay?" Kedes asked worriedly.

Kate looked at the old woman and nodded her head. "I\'m trying to be okay," she said in a heartbreaking tone.

Kedes took a deep breath. She remembered her past when she was forcefully married to her late husband, the former king. She felt like her world was crumbling down because she doesn\'t want to marry the late king. However, after the wedding, the king was considerate, loyal, and loving to her. Later on, she develops feelings for her husband and she was happy ever since.

That was her happy ending.

She doesn\'t know about this girl. But if she can help her love her husband the soonest possible time then she will render her assistance to her. This way she can help her grandson get the girl, and at the same time, help the girl forgets her pain and sadness and embrace her new life wholeheartedly.

"Child...I will help you fall in love with my grandson. This way you will no longer feel pain, repulsion, and sadness when you spend time with the king. The next time you open your eyes you will adore and love the king with all your heart. This is the only way I can help you," Kedes explained.

Confusion appeared on Kate\'s brows. "How are you going to do that?"

Kedes smiled. "I have my way. I have the power and capability to change your mind and heart and make you fell in love with the king trough a mind and memory ritual. It will take several hours of ritual, but will be worth it the moment you open your eyes."

Kate\'s heart lurched in her chest. "A-are you going to erase all my memory, including the memory of the man I truly love in my heart?" she asked apprehensively.

Kedes shook her head. "Not really. I won\'t erase all your memory. The only thing I will erase is the memory of your first love and implant my grandson\'s memory in your mind and heart so that you will welcome him with open arms as your lover and your husband."

Kate fully understood what the old woman was trying to say to her, she sighed heavily. She doesn\'t want to lose Ramza\'s memory... but what is the use of keeping the memory of the person that she will no longer see in this lifetime? That memory will only create a huge vacuum of sadness in her heart and mind.

She can no longer get out of this God-forsaken castle, maybe it\'s better to start a clean slate!

\'Goodbye Ramza...\' she murmured.

She looked at the old woman. "What if I won\'t agree with your intention?"

Kedes smiled and shakes her head. "Unfortunately, you can\'t do anything, my dear. If you are already under my spell, you can no longer move and talk. I\'ll give you a choice...lie down on the bed on your own accord or play hard with me?" she issued her a challenge.

Kate pondered for a moment. "I don\'t have a choice, right?"

Kedes nodded her head in affirmation.

Kate breathed deeply and shrugged, resigning to her fate. If the old woman can help her change her mind about the king... then she might as well accept her help. This way it can help her endure the unpleasant things that she\'s going to experience when she becomes the king\'s wife and queen.

She lies down on the bed obediently.

Kedes smiled in triumph. It is a great help that the girl is now willing to undergo the ritual, not only that she\'s going to erase all her memory, she was also planning to erase the memory of her family, her life outside the castle and all the people she encountered in her past life...including Esmeralda.

"Close your eyes, dear, we shall start the ritual," Kedes grinned.

Kate obeyed the old woman\'s command and shut off her eyes. A tear fell from her eyes. Her heart was revolting inside, it doesn\'t want to forget Ramza, it refused to forget her first love!

She wanted to cry right now, but the soonest possible time that she can forget about him the better it will be so that she is ready to welcome another man in her heart. When her mind and heart pointed to the king only it will make her become a better wife and queen to the king.

Kedes was moving her hands on the surface of Kate\'s face, putting the girl on a trance then eventually in a deep sleep.

Kate can feel her body undergoing a calming sleep along with her subconscious. Then her whole life flashes before her...after the memories were done flashing in her mind...she encountered a total blackout...and she fell into a deep sleep.

Kedes placed her right hand on Kate\'s forehead while her left hand was clutching the necklace that was made of animal bones hanging on her neck. She closed her eyes firmly. A bluish light traveled from the necklace down to the old woman\'s left hand and went to her right hand, the bluish light entered Kate\'s ears, nose, and mouth.

The ritual continues in the next three hours.

A few minutes later...Kedes opened her eyes slowly and looked at the girl.

The ritual was finished and successful.

When the girl wakes up in the morning, she is already a new person, her old persona was already gone.

Kedes smiled and went to the door.

She exited the door and smiled at her grandson that was waiting patiently at the door, the excitement was still flashing in his eyes.

"How it\'s going, Grandma?" King Voyen asked.

"The ritual is successful. Let the girl have her rest. When she wakes up tomorrow morning, you will be the first person that she will be asking for," Kedes smiled.

"Thank you so much, Grandma!" King Voyen gushes in elation.

"Don\'t disturb her yet, or else you will interrupt the conversion of her memory," Kedes warned him.

"Alright, I will sleep on another hut," King Voyen replied.

"I will also take my rest," Kedes said and walked to the wooden hut nearby that was assigned to her.

That night.

King Voyen was sleeping soundly in the other hut.

Kedes was already snoring on the wooden bed.

The centaur guards on duty were the only ones wide awake guarding the whole place.

Inside the king\'s chamber, Kate was still in a deep sleep.

Outside...the darkness blanketed the entire forest.
