The Spinster

Chapter 5 - Sierra Co 2.0

Wearing a black shirt with a statement 'Beyatch' across the c.h.e.s.t area and skinny jeans paired with white sneakers, Ria Zhang was all set to visit the salon with her 'brother'.

At the first floor of the apartment complex, the brother-sister duo bumped into Danni and Lulu whose both hands were clutching eco bags full of groceries.

"Young Master! Young Miss," both lowered their heads.

Stan Co nodded slightly while Ria Zhang crossed her arms. "Don't wait for me. I'm having dinner with my brother."

"Yes, Young Miss."

Ria Zhang glanced at his brother. "Let's go?"

Her brother headed towards his car. A man in his forties got out of the car and bowed his head. "Young Master," the man bowed. He glanced at Ria Zhang. His lips were set in a straight line, contempt flashed in his eyes which vanished instantly. "Young Miss," he nodded slightly.

From one look, Ria Zhang knew that this person does not like her. But who cares? He disliked Sierra Co, not her. Aside from that, her goal was not to please other people. In her previous life, she was the queen of her clique.

The man pulled the car door open and she lowered herself inside. "Thanks." She was a  b i t c h  but she knew how to be grateful. Making herself comfortable at the backseat, she didn't notice how the two men outside widened their eyes when they realized what Sierra Co had just said.

Sierra Co, despite her identity being covered up, grew up pampered and arrogant. She doesn't know how to say thank you or even lowered her head. Why would she? She was one of the heiresses to the Co fortune. She even has her own trust fund that she doesn't need to scramble over the Co properties with her cousins.

The car stopped at one of the high-end salons in the Costa City. It was owned by the Co Industries, just like the Co TouchMe. Going out of the car, Ria Zhang waited for her brother. Although she has the body of Sierra Co, she didn't have Sierra Co's memories.

She eyed her brother approaching her. Curving her lips into a smile, she linked her arms with his. They headed towards the entrance of the salon. Inside, the beauty stylists were cutting and styling hairs of their patrons. No one paid attention to the two people who just went inside.

A tall woman took a step towards them. "Brother Stan," she greeted, planting a kiss o. her brother's cheek. The the woman looked at her.

Just like Stan Co's driver, the woman eyed Ria Zhang with contempt. She inclined her head to the side. She knew that Sierra Co chased Marvin Kang as if he was the last person in the world.

But was that supposed to earn her contempt? She needed to ask her maids about it when she got home.

However, Sierra Co became more selfish, arrogant, and stupid when she met Marvin Kang. She was always on the front page of the newspaper for creating scandals. It was a good thing the press didn't associate Sierra Co with the Co Family. Their ancestors would have turn in their graves if that happened.

"Cousin, what can I do for you?" the woman flashed a smile. It seemed to be a genuine smile but Ria Zhang spent 60 years in her previous life not to know about it. Well, this unknown woman wasn't doing anything to her so she will let it pass.

"Just a haircut. Only here," Ria Zhang point at the shoulder level. Sierra Co's hair was brown in color but Ria Zhang doesn't know if it's natural or from a bottle.

Truth be told, she doesn't want to cut it. But it was really hard to take a bath in the morning. Especially if she was in a hurry.

"Okay. I'll do it personally."

For some reason, Ria Zhang wanted to refuse but she will look petty so she just nodded.

Both Stan Co and Arie Co dropped their jaws. It was a common knowledge that Sierra Co doesn't get along with her. In fact, Stan Co was expecting a drama to unfold. His sister was not the type to do something without a plan.

Well, that was Stan Co's sister. Not Ria Zhang. He cleared his throat. "Let someone do it, Arie. I'm sure you are busy."

"I'm fine Brother Stan. It was just a normal haircut. Nothing complicated," Arie Co reached out for her cousin's hand and grasped it gently.

Arie Co looked at Ria Zhang. "Let's go to the VIP room," she took a step towards the corridor on the side of the main area of the salon.

The siblings followed closely behind. They stopped in front of a white door. Arie Co pushed it open before stepping inside.

The VIP room looked chic with the white and black interior. The opposite walls were made of mirrors. Two reclining seats were facing one mirror while a sofa in white leather accentuated the black wall on one side.

Another door was situated on the opposite side of the sofa.

"You can sit whichever seat you prefer," Arie Co told her cousin. "I'll just get ready the things," she added before pushing the door open.

Stan Co occupied the sofa as Ria Zhang sat on one of the reclining chairs. Not long after, Arie Co went out of the separate room, pushing a portable cabinet.

She opened one drawer and pulled a cape, draping it around the body of her cousin and securing it at the back of her neck.

"Is there any particular design you want?" Arie Co asked, looking at Sierra Co thru the mirror.

"Does bangs suits me?"

"A woman who will start to move on will definitely cut her hair," Ria Zhang said.

Arie Co dropped her jaw. "I asked that aloud?"

Ria Zhang arched an eyebrow, staring at her cousin thru the mirror. "Would you rather believe I read your mind, then?"

Arie Co shook her head. She started combing her cousin's hair before spraying a solution to wet the hair. Measuring it in her mind, she cut a portion of Sierra Co's hair slowly. It took a whole lot twenty minutes before the cut was finished.

The old Sierra Co has her hair reached around her waist. The new Sierra Co has a shoulder-length hair now. Not a big change but at least, there was a change.

After brushing the hairs from around the neck and shoulders, Arie Co removed the cape. Ria Zhang stood up from the seat.

"You don't look too happy, little sis," Stan Co noticed it.

"It's fine. I just don't think something has changed," she shrugged.

Arie Co furrowed her brows. Was Sierra Co demeaning her talent? She was trained in France for Pete's sake.

"Definitely not. That's your natural hair color," Stan Co opposed his sister's idea. "Mother will get angry if you do it."

So it was Sierra Co's natural hair color. Wow, this woman's genes were to die-for huh? Ria Zhang glanced at Arie Co who was arranging the scissors and brush in the portable cabinet. "Thank you, Arie. My brother will pay for it," she said.

Arie Co raised her head, clenching her fists. "Excuse me? Are you insulting me?" As expected, this woman was up to no good.

"Insulting you? How it become an insult when I'm just paying?" she shrugged before looking at her brother. "Well, it was Elder brother who brought me here so he ought to pay."

Stan Co put his arm over his sister's shoulder. "You're a member of the Co Family. No need to -"

"Nonsense," she waved her hand dismissively. "Business is business. Anyway, let's go. I still need to buy lots of clothes," she headed towards the door.

Stan Co looked at Arie Co. "Is there something wrong with her?"

"Oh, please Brother Stan. You're her brother. You can't tell?"

"So there really is?" Stan Co drew his brows together.

"What is it?"

Stan Co has a bad feeling about it.

"Madam, an attendant accidentally bumped into Miss Sierra Co. We have a lot of VIP clients. I'm afraid -"

The cousins dashed out of the door. You don't bumped into Sierra Co. Bump into the Prime Minister's daughter but not Sierra Co.

Outside, Sierra Co glanced at her white sneakers. It was the latest edition from Adidas. The shoes weren't made of canvas so it would be easy to clean them. She decided to let it go.

Until that stupid attendant opened her mouth.

"That's your fault. The lobby was wide. Why bumped into me?"

The people inside the salon were all looking at them. Some were even preparing their phones. This would be an instant hit in the social media.

Ria Zhang didn't know that the previous Sierra Co had became public enemy number one because of trying to steal Marvin Kang from Kara Lu.

When it comes to the elite society, Sierra Co has not attended even one party so she was unknown.

Ria Zhang stole a look from the upper corner of the salon. Tiny red dots can be seen on the far corners. She stared at the woman in front of her.

She raised an eyebrow. "Well, I don't want to acknowledge a fault that isn't mine in the first place. Shall we check the CCTV then?"

"Okay, check it. Arie, tell your people to connect the main monitor of the CCTV control room to the flat screen TV here," Stan Co ordered his cousin.

"Got it," Arie Co dialed on her phone.

The attendant raised her chin. "There's no need to check the CCTV. The people here will attest that she bumped into me."

The woman was confident that the people inside will side with her. Also, they were just waiting for Sierra Co to get physical. It has always been like that.

When someone will offend Sierra Co, she will slap or throw something towards the other party, whatever she can hold to.

The worst thing that happened was when Sierra Co threw her stilettos towards a man who tried to harass her after Marvin Kang told the press about the one-night stand.

Ria Zhang laughed before crossing her arms. "Well, they are your witnesses. Have you been inside the court? As the prosecution, you have the right to present your witnesses and evidence," she paused. "Me as the defense will also present my own witnesses and evidence."

The woman looked at the people around, silently asking for back-up. But the other attendants just lowered their head while the clients glanced at their phone, filming the drama.

While the people do not know that Sierra Co was the only granddaughter of the Co's current family head, they knew that Stan Co was the grandson and they don't want to offend someone under the direct line of the Co Family.

Ria Zhang sneered inwardly. This lowly woman even dreamt of provoking her? This was not the old Sierra Co.

Meet Sierra Co version 2.0. Duh.
