The Spinster

Chapter 11 - The 'Ideal' Couple

Ria Zhang curled her lips. She doesn't really want to waste time with insignificant beings.

"It doesn't matter. But I guess, you need more training so as not to offend high-valued clients the next time," she said lightly. She then turned her head towards the sales lady named Misa.

The people who were expecting chaos just now were left with their shoulders slumped. It was just different. Sierra Co always make a fuss over small things. It seemed as if she suddenly became a different person.

"Come, I want to see your latest collection," she said, waving her hand.

Misa bowed her head. "Right away, Young Miss."

Ria Zhang's slender legs swayed as she made her way towards the couch. Her lips was set in a straight line. As she sat on the couch, the boutique went lively again, each patron was caught in her own fantasy of owning a dress from Costa Dresses.

Ria Zhang extended her arm and reached for a magazine. It was an issue from the summer collection of Costa Dresses. Flipping the pages, she soon forgot her surroundings, burrowing her head on its glossy pages.

Lulu went to the side of her Young Miss. She personally witnessed how Sierra Co became irrational in the past. Well, that was mostly because of Marvin Kang and Kara Lu.

Out of the blue, the crowd became rowdy again. Some women shrieked while others giggled. Lulu craned her neck towards the entrance of the boutique. It must be a celebrity for the people to go gaga.

"Kara Lu! You're so beautiful!"

"Marvin Kang, you are so lucky to have her!"

These sentences put a frown on Lulu's forehead. Her eyes went wide when she realized what was happening.

Lulu glanced towards her Young Miss, l.i.c.k.i.n.g her lips while wringing her hands in front of her. In the past, Sierra Co has always made a fool of herself whenever Kara Lu and Marvin Kang appeared before her.

Still, it was Sierra Co. Not Ria Zhang. And as a spinster, Ria Zhang hated the noise. Although she was in a body of 28-year old woman, her soul was that of 60-year old.

Ria Zhang closed the magazine quietly and put it on the coffee table. She leaned back on the couch, counting from one to ten. She still preferred her own time, where people were still respectful of one's privacy.

Lulu didn't know what to do. From the corner of her eyes, she can see Kara Lu making her way to their direction. Her Young Miss had her eyes closed. Should she lightly tug her arm then?

But Lulu was a second late. The moment she tried to tug her Young Miss' arm, Kara Lu was already standing in front of them.

"I didn't expect to see Sierra Co here at Costa Dresses, eh?"

The boutique went silent. Everyone was waiting how Sierra Co would handle the situation.

However, Ria Zhang was not in the least affected. As she still consider herself the Ria Zhang from the past, she really did not get that the honey-laced voice was talking to her.

"What's taking Misa so long?" she glanced towards her watch. "I've been waiting for 20 minutes now. Go follow her up," Ria Zhang ordered Lulu.

"A-Ah but Young Miss-" Lulu glanced towards Kara Lu. Her face was dark due to the obvious disregard of her greetings.

"How rude! Just because she have an Old Rich card, she dare not greet Kara Lu?!"

"Who does she think she is?"

Kara Lu widened her eyes. This loser has an Old Rich card? She pressed her lips together and put a smile after a while.

"Miss Sierra Co, I know you're not ignoring me intentionally," Kara Lu said. Her voice was soft, portraying a delicate lady.

That was the time Ria Zhang noticed the woman in front of her. She knitted her eyebrows. Her eyes scanned the woman's frame from head to toe. This woman looked familiar. Is she a celebrity? Ria Zhang asked inwardly.

Kara Lu clenched her fists. She hated the way this Sierra Co looked at her. It was as if she was nothing. Just wait and see, Sierra Co. I'll show the world how you are just a speck of dust in my existence. Kara Lu screamed at the back of her head.

"Do I know you?" Ria Zhang asked curiously. Why was this woman staring at her as if she's nothing but a dust? She's the Young Miss of the Co Family.

The man was Marvin Kang. Of course, since Ria Zhang had not met him personally, she really do not him.

Ria Zhang raised an eyebrow. Now, who was this man? She didn't remember meeting him. "Who are you?"

"Stop acting stupid. Why? Did you knock your head that much?" Marvin Kang sneered. "Do you think you will catch my attention just because you pretend you don't know us?"

The people around also snickered. Some were shaking their heads.

"Well, at least, that's original."

"Who cares? She's still nothing compared to Kara Lu."

A smile broke on Ria Zhang's face when she realized who the man and woman in front of her were. "You know what? You're correct, I have this intermittent blackout." She waved her hand. "Not that it's serious. I just tend to forget insignificant things. I apologize for that."

Ria Zhang's smile reached her eyes. And since it was a genuine smile, her face looked so fresh and vibrant.

"You-!" Marvin Kang narrowed his eyes. How come this woman in front of him was not making a scene? And why does she sit like she was a queen?

Kara Lu smiled. "It was nice to see you again, Misa. Is there a new arrival?"

Misa bowed towards Kara Lu. "Yes, Young Miss Lu. It is waiting at the VIP Room 2."

"VIP Room 2? VIP Room 1 is already occupied?" Kara Lu's voice became frosty. Who dare snatch the room from her? For the last three years, she has always booked VIP Room 1.

Misa nodded. "Yes, Young Miss Lu."

Marvin Kang stared at Kara Lu. His eyes that were hard earlier softened as he patted Kara Lu's hair. He then turned around the sales lady. "I will double the price. Just give Kara the room."

Kara Lu raised her head and stared back to Marvin Kang's eyes. "Marvin," she called his name softly. "Thank you. You spoiled me so much," she said before lowering her gaze.

This earned gushing remarks from the onlookers.

"Kara Lu and Marvin Kang are so adorable."

"They're indeed the ideal couple of Costa City."

Whoever needed that? She shook her head.

"You sure have guts to say that inside my boutique, Marvin Kang," a woman's voice cut the flow of thoughts inside Ria Zhang's mind.

Ria Zhang looked at the approaching woman. She wore a black dress, the hem was accentuated with glittering beads, making an illusion of the universe.

"Mira Cheng!" It was Kara Lu who exclaimed. Mira Cheng was the owner of Costa Dresses as well as its resident Chief designer. As someone who was influential in her own right, Mira Cheng has always been out of the radar.

Mira Cheng turned to Kara Lu. "Who are you?"

That did it. Ria Zhang burst out laughing. It was the kind of carefree laugh that urged people to laugh. Soon, Mira Cheng found herself laughing side by side with Ria Zhang.
