The Heirs Daughter

38 Chapter 37

I woke up the next morning with the intention of sneaking back into the balcony to watch the trials, but Kelvin and Zaline had other plans.

"It's not that bad, come on Acadia" Zaline grumbled pulling on my arm.

"I do not want to go" I told her while I kept struggling to sit on the couch.

"You have to" Kelvin smiled at me, trying a different approach than my best friend.

"Fine but you two will have to endure it with me" I huffed out and got up off the couch.

"Uh, I am not sure that is the best..." Kelvin started to speak and I glared at him.

"Its an order" I said which made Zaline laugh at him until I looked at her, "You too" and her face scrunched up stopping the laughter.

A half-hour later we were at the mansion, I was sitting on my thrown, making them sit beside me on each side.

"Your majesty, this present is from my wife and I" a wizard said as he presented me with a chicken, a real-life chicken.

"Thank you, how can I help you?" I asked while gesturing to Kelvin to hold the chicken, he groaned and grabbed it, sitting back next to me.

"My wife is pregnant, and was just wondering if the new queen would bless us with well wishes" the man said. This was the easiest request today and smiled at the man before wishing his unborn child luck.

"Ok that was the last of the morning, you need to eat on the way, we are going to meet your two new prospects" Zaline got up, and handed the stuff she had in her arms to one of the staff.

I laughed at her face, and the laughter caught on with her as we looked at poor Kelvin trying to chase the chicken that escaped his arms when he got up.

"Just leave it, Kelvin, maybe next time you will both send someone else to make me do these things" I laughed again, and he stood up pulling a feather out of his shirt from the struggle earlier.

We stopped and grabbed a burger out of the kitchen before making our way to the ballroom, I had to force myself to eat because my stomach was filled with nerves already.

"Your majesty" Claudette greeted me first and led me to the head of the table they were at yesterday, and I sat down.

"Where are they?" I asked, not seeing anyone but the judges in here with us.

"They will come in one by one, and we will leave you now to meet them. Only Kelvin will stay for protection, and you will have ten minutes with them before they are taken to their rooms. I think you will be pleased with our choices" she nodded and they left the room.

"Are you ready?" Kelvin asked me, and I shakily nodded my head at him.

I sat there waiting as they called the first one in, and I don't think my face was surprised enough for him when he walked in, because he frowned as I just stared at him walking toward me.

"I told you I missed you" Remey sat in a chair across from me with that sexy smirk of his.

"So you decided to try for my hand in marriage, even after everything" I told him not letting any ounce of emotion in my voice.

"Yes, I had to show you I meant it, I really do care for you and I passed the test, so you know I don't have any ill intentions Acadia" he told me as he leaned closer to me over the table.

"Just because you passed a test does not mean you can get past me, what are your intentions?" I asked him.

"I started getting close to you because of your father, I never thought that you would turn out to be this amazing person. I never thought that you would be so beautiful that you take my breath away when I look at you, I thought you would be like your father. I care about you as I said, I want to try and make this work" He reached over the table to grab my hand.

I flashed some magic at him and pulled my hand away "Ill think about it, our time is up" I told him, as he got up and smiled at me one last time before slipping out the door.

My mind was reeling with the information, and I didn't have much time to think before the second guy came walking in, I looked up hoping it was Buford but it wasn't.
