The Heirs Daughter

12 Chapter 11

For the next week, it's the same routine, for the most part, we wake up, go to work, come back to the house. We eat dinner together, talking and laughing every night, he sure knows how to make me forget all my troubles.

I learned that he was also a single child, raised knowing about magic and hearing the history of the group, he was part of the main group once but doesn't remember the leader as he was a little.

His parents were part of the council as he is now, and they remain good friends with Zaline's parents. Growing up they always hung out together, and Zaline was right, anytime they got into trouble it was all under Remey's influence.

He became a lawyer in the human world to help both communities and make a living protecting the innocent, it's natural to him to be protective as he was raised to be.

Zaline pops by a couple of times, eating dinner with us, and staying with me when Buford had to leave, we would watch movies and gossip about some of the people in the group that I haven't met yet, or about how her boyfriend is being distant lately due to her busy schedule, her assistant has been calling out a lot lately, causing her to work more.

Me and Remey have been texting back and forth every day as well, he has been busy setting up his office as well, and still being very flirty, making me smile and blush even through text.

We have also been working on my visions, I touch Zaline and never see anything from her, Buford doesn't want to know anything involving him, so he doesn't volunteer.

All it leaves us is to focus on my dreams, which have been about the death of people I never met and ends with a vision of my mother's face every time. Relaying this information to them, they set out to stop or help these people as best as they can, as my visions are stronger the more I focus.

Its Saturday night and were off work tomorrow, Remey and I had set a date to go out tonight and try not to run into trouble this time as he says. I walk downstairs that night dressed in a thigh-length black dress, that bunches off the shoulders, my hair swept up into a low bun dangling bits of hair from it and on the side of my face, and slim heels to match.

He said we were going to a jazz club, and then dinner. Buford is on the couch in the living room, watching tv when I walk in. He looks over at me, and with an expression I've never seen, time stands still for a second as we look at each other, then a knock at the door makes me lose eye contact.

Answering the door and seeing Remey dressed in a black tux with that sly smirk on his face, and low whistle as he looks me up and down with appreciation, I invite him inside for a moment. Seeing Remey himself, Buford seems to get out of his trance and they shake hands "Are you all heading out?"

Remey smiles "Yes I'm going to bring her to a jazz club and get some dinner" Looking at us, then at me again with a look that I think is jealousy and tells us to be careful.

We stay at the jazz club enjoying the music, we danced quite a bit, he surprisingly is great at it. He then takes me to a nice Italian restaurant, we laugh and enjoy ourselves. This is a lot easier to talk to him than with my ex, Remey listens intently and answers, our conversation flows easily.

His charm and wit making me smile, seeing him as a very attractive prospect for a boyfriend. My smile falters a bit, as I think of Buford, we have gotten a lot closer since all of this started and I feel the same about him as much as Remey.

They both make me smile, happy, and a little hot just looking at them. Again, noting the difference in them, and the fact that Buford never said anything to me or asked me out himself, but the looks he gives me sometimes makes me think it's mutual.

Figuring if he did, it's his loss if he doesn't say anything until then I'll enjoy my time with Remey.
