Generally speaking, self-cultivation and mind cultivation are two aspects of practice. In the Tao Te Ching, they are compared to the two wheels of a car. Only when the two wheels are the same size can the car move forward smoothly.

In the process of practical practice, the two wheels of body and mind are always in a state of change. As long as they can be adjusted, the car can always move forward, but the track will bump and swing back and forth to the left or right.

Therefore, in order to reach the destination quickly, we can only minimize the frequency and amplitude of this swing.

Self cultivation and mind cultivation can be regarded as one. Self cultivation is just a specific method of mind cultivation. However, only after the cultivation of the original mind appears and the transition to the cultivation state of the integration of body and mind, the two are completely the same thing. At this time, there is no difference between self-cultivation and mind cultivation, but before that, it is still necessary to practice separately.

Based on the Taoist concept and years of experience, Zixiang gate has divided into major cultivation stages:

First of all, it is to achieve the basic stage of dispelling diseases and strengthening the body and restoring health.

After that, it is the stage of Jing man Qi Tong, also known as refining essence and transforming Qi, so as to transform muscle and blood circulation, exercise internal organs and turn essence into Qi.

Then there is the stage of Qi fullness transforming God, that is, the stage of refining Qi into God. At this time, it is gasified into God, and the brain gradually becomes active from outside to inside, from turbidity to clarity, and the mind is strengthened.

Then there is the stage of God's foot entering emptiness, that is, refining God and returning emptiness. At this time, it can be said that the flesh body is connected with the universe and heaven and earth.

As for the last two steps, which are the natural stage of practicing virtual harmony Tao and Tao Dharma, it is not something that a single self-cultivation skill can achieve. The strong person with a single self-cultivation can only stop here at most. These two steps are closely related to the cultivation of mind. Only the skill of both physical and mental cultivation can be realized.

These two stages are similar to the stage of the first bloom of the heart and the stage of the full bloom of the heart as Buddhism said. The things blocked by the heart are slowly stripped off layer by layer, pieces and pieces are broken, and the original intention is gradually revealed, pointing to flying into immortality and Buddha.

In order to express and reflect the gradual step-by-step progress, the above stages are subdivided into the revival of one yuan, the emergence of two dragons, three mountains with the moon, the Yin and Yang of four elephants, the five Qi and the Yuan Dynasty according to the characteristics of the limitless skill Six Ding and six Jia, Seven Star Big Dipper, eight door golden lock, nine song chain and ten square limitless.

For example, hualanting's current four elephant yin-yang environment still belongs to the stage of Refining Essence and transforming Qi. The five Qi Dynasty yuan environment has initially entered the stage of refining Qi and transforming God. After the Seven Star Beidou environment, it has reached the stage of refining spirit and returning to emptiness.

The ten directions limitless realm can be said to be the peak of the stage of refining emptiness and combining Taoism. Only after breaking through and entering the natural stage of Taoism, can it have the qualification to soar and the possibility to impact the immortal Taoism. This is also what a few top talents who are old but not dead in the Vientiane gate and even in Xianzhou try to strive for.

Its function is equivalent to building a dam to store water. Once the water level reaches, the potential of water can break the dam and drain, and the turbid gas can be brought into the river together with the dirty mud and turbid water deposited on the channel, so as to make the route unobstructed.

The Qi in the body will sink somewhere, and people's thoughts will naturally follow in the past. You can choose to move your mind away from there, you can also set your mind there to strengthen the Qi sense there, or you can use your mind to loosen the Qi sense place and help the Qi machine get through there.
