I woke up because of the hard bangs on the door, Somebody was knocking on my door but after knocking for a while they tried to barge into my room. It was Skyler​​

"Hey! Bitch you should open the door when I knock!" Skyler yelled in anger.

I was panting heavily "wh- who is there??! Who\'s there!" I was still half asleep when I stuttered in fright.

"Skyl-Skyler! Skyler!" I cried out with tears in my eyes I grabbed her by her waist and began to cry in her lap.

"It\'s me, Skyler ! Kai ! Kai ! Are you okay I\'m here it\'s me Skyler what happened? Did you had a nightmare? " Skyler who being rowdy a second ago after watching Kai scared got worried and soft instantly.

"Skyl-Skyler! Skyler!!!" I cried out with tears in my eyes. I grabbed her by the waist and began to cry in her lap.

"Runaway with everyone , go away with Sabir, Lee, Rose everyone or they\'ll kill you and everyone!"

After Watching Kai in so much pain, tears broke out of Skyler\'s eyes. She brushed his hair and hugged him gently.

"Kai ! Who are you? Are you a coward ?"

"No, you\'re not, you\'re the Kai who stood against Werewolves just to protect me, and I know something, a person who doesn\'t think twice before sacrificing his own life for someone else is the bravest person in the world."

"You\'re Kai, and that makes you special do you know how much we all believe in you, we don\'t believe in you because you\'re a leviathan or something but we believe in you because you\'re Kai, just standing beside you gives us a feeling of safety, so we know you\'ll win."

She consulted me in her soft and soothing voice, she wiped her tears and embraced me, she hugged me and wiped my tears and patted on my back.

"Kai, tell me whenever you\'re suffering or in pain, I\'ll always come for you, don\'t worry you\'ll not die and neither will any of us."

"Skyler, I\'m so scared! I don\'t want to lose you " I stuttered and hugged her more tightly.

"It\'s going to be okay, it\'ll be okay Kai rest for now, I\'m with you" she rested my head on my pillow and wiped her tears before going.

"Ah, Kai I came over to give you this "Wessel Attar" apply this before entering the maze! I\'ll leave it on the side table" Skyler left the room after putting me to sleep.

It was evening and only a few hours were left, everyone was tensed and so was I, I was constantly walking in my bedroom, Rose was sitting there on a chair and was watching me under immense pressure.

"My lord sit down, walking consistently will just only deplete your Stamina !" Rose spoke in a worried tone.

"Rose, I know this but I ca—"

"Kai, let\'s go for a bath I need to tell you something!!"

Someone Interrupted as I spoke, it was Lee who looked more stressed out than anyone !!!

Without asking any question I followed Lee into the royal baths, I saw his naked body for the first time and it was worth the watch even though I was a straight man but his body was so fine that even I fell for it, I understood why women were mad after him as I was gazing at his abs he spoke in a serious tone.

"Kai, listen this ceremony is for your verification to see if you\'re a real leviathan or not! Cause if a leviathan can\'t even defeat a legendary serpent how anyone can believe if he can defeat other enemies! " he narrowed his eyebrows and looked straight into my eyes.

"And I know you\'re also wondering what kind of thing you\'ll have to do in the verification ceremony! Well to be honest it\'s a battle between the host and the serpent, you\'ll not be able to use your serpent powers, you\'ll be entirely dependent on your devil powers"

"In the battle, you have to make the serpent submit to you! By talking, or sparring or any way you can do it, you can take three items with you too!!!"

"Everyone in the country will be watching you live, so do your best".

Lee explained every single thing in detail with precision.

"Kai I guess it\'s time to go to the ceremony, everyone might be waiting ".

I took a deep breath to calm myself, tried my best not to panic, I saw Lee\'s face who was trying his best to aid me, I remembered Sabir\'s and Skyler\'s faces who stood for me every time. I waved my hair in confidence and looked at Lee and told him

"Let\'s do this ! Let\'s fuck that legendary serpent up" I yelled while leaving the baths

After dressing up we arrived at the maze where all the lord and ladies were waiting, the archpriest was also there who was in charge of the whole thing.

A guard opened the door of the maze and bowed to me as I got in front of the door to the maze the archpriest approached me

"My majesty, have you chosen the three items you\'ll be taking with you!"

I moved my head in response to her question, after getting my answer she announced

"Today our new king leviathan will show how worthy he is to the kingdom by performing the verification ritual!!!! All hail to the king before he goes in".

After her grand announcement I walked into the maze, it looked like a regular maze before I stepped in deeper.

As I stepped deeper into the maze everything started to turn dark and after sometimes it became all black and zooooommmm...

I got teleported somewhere....

The place I got teleported was a dark dungeon with low light, I heard some hissing and rambling sound behind me and turned to look but nothing was there, I tried to look for the serpent for few minutes and then I felt someone glaring at me and as I turned I saw 2 big yellow coloured eyes....

" Hiss I\'ve been waiting for you since months and now I\'ve finally met you Kai Reid " The serpent was speaking In Nāgabānī but I somehow understood it.

[ Nāgabānī is the language of snakes]

"Ohh so, you\'re the one who resides In me? What\'s your name?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Haha! I knew you\'d ask something like this!!! "

"I\'M BASILISK!!!!! THE KING OF SERPENTS"

"FUCK!!!!"
