Chapter 148: Why Should I Care?

Without any notice, Lucy’s room once again turned quiet.

Lucy and Vivian had no more to say. They just stared at Shien without giving away what they were thinking.

Shien had a ton of complicated feelings right now.

Although there were still a lot of things he didn’t understand, there was one thing that he can be sure of.

And that is, Nien isn’t actually the Highest God Omnis.

If he went by Lucy and Vivian’s explanations, then as the omnipotent god of the world, Omnis only cared about the Demon King Claudis. “A thousand years ago, the Demon King was indeed defeated by the ancestor using his Holy Sword. Plus, the Highest God Omnis didn’t want to see the Demon King Claudis revived either, so she used her own powers to completely erase any possibility for the Demon King’s resurrection. It’s because of that the demons abandoned resisting and turned instead to the path of coexistence with the other two races. This too is something that pretty much everyone knows.”

To this world, the history of a thousand years ago is very important. Even if some details can’t be recovered, most of the major events were still well recorded.

Stuff like the Highest God Omnis’s aloofness and the matter of the Demon King’s death were known widely by all.

Lucy had also obviously noticed how problematic the matter was, so after a period of silence, spoke the following.

“No matter what, the fact that a Hero was summoned again is the reality. If something terrifying that we did not know of really did happen, then we have no choice but to figure out a way to deal with it.”

How should they deal with it then?

“I’ll go take a trip to the divine realm soon and see if I can learn some things from the gods I know.” Lucy so decided, “Of course, I’ll also go see the goddess of fate and discuss things with her. See if I can get some kind of help there.”

The goddess of fate was the one among the three great goddesses who gave Lucy her blessing. If Lucy went to the divine realm to ask for her, there’s no way that they wouldn’t be able to meet.

Even if the world itself was destroyed, she could easily just make a new one with the wave of her hand. “It’s fine to say stuff like that in here, but don’t go saying it outside, alright?” Vivian spoke resignedly, “No matter what, gods are our creators. We also enjoy their blessings, so we mustn’t be disrespectful.”

However, Shien wasn’t convinced.

“That’s you guys. This doesn’t have anything to do with someone from another world like me.”

That’s how it is.

As someone from another world, Shien’s creator was unquestionably his own parents. It had nothing at all to do with gods or whatever.

As for the blessing, it too was something that someone else forcibly pushed onto him. It’s not like he actually asked for it, right?

“Why should I care?”

Lucy stood up and looked toward Shien.

“For the time being, just wait here in the capital for now and wait for my news.”
