Promise You a Life Full of Love

Chapter 32 - She’s Just A Substitute for Xu Zijin

Mu Anan understood what Fu Sinian meant. She had known him for so many years that she had a clear understanding of his strong hatred for the Xu family. Although she was Xu Yuanshan’s illegitimate daughter, Fu Sinian had never regarded her as a member of the Xu family.

In the eyes of outsiders, Mu Anan was an orphan whose mother gave her life to save Fu Sinian’s mother, so Mu Anan had formed a deep friendship with Fu Sinian in childhood and was now his beloved.

They had gone through the most difficult time together in the orphanage. Over the years, Fu Sinian had never given her up no matter in any dangerous situations.

In the past, every time Xu Zijin deliberately made things difficult for her, Fu Sinian was on her side and defended her.

So Mu Anan had always believed that as long as she was by his side, Xu Zijin could never be anything but a loser.

However, everything had changed before Mu Anan knew it.

Since when had he been attracted by Xu Zijin?

She once had played tricks to get her way. At that time, even though he had been well aware of her evil acts, he hadn’t blamed her. However, this time his attitude towards her completely changed.

He even classed her as a member of the Xu family and looked at her with loathing.

“Don’t say that, Sinian. I’ll be scared.” Mu Anan looked at him with imploring eyes, her heart overwhelmed with a strong sense of panic. All of a sudden, she had a hunch that she was going to lose Fu Sinian. “Sinian, I know I was wrong. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have left you that year. I shouldn’t have sat by and watched you marry her.

I know you are very soft-hearted. Xu Zijin is young and beautiful, and you two have lived together for so many years. So, it’s reasonable for you to be softhearted towards her. But the reason why I left you at that time was that I hoped you could put your whole heart into your revenge. I thought that we could have a bright future after everything was settled.

But I didn’t expect that Xu Zijin was such a calculating woman. She made every attempt to take you from me. Anyway, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have left you when you needed me most. I shouldn’t have let you wreak revenge by yourself.

But, Sinian, I love you. I have always loved you. In this world, I only have you, and I only want you. Don’t leave me, please. I know you still love me. Let’s leave Yan City and go to a new place. We can start our lives all over again.”

Mu Anan rushed over and held him tightly as if in this way she could keep this man by her side. However, in fact, he was like a gust of wind blowing past her and all she got was a sense of emptiness.

Fu Sinian kept a poker face and remained speechless. In dead silence, Mu Anan’s heart sank. But she was still unwilling to give up. She looked up and wanted to say something more, but his indifferent gaze grasped her by the throat like an invisible big hand.

“You are wrong. I don’t love you. I’ve never loved you.” He did want to start a new life but not with Mu Anan.

Fu Sinian’s words reverberated in her ears. Every word was like a knife piercing her heart.

“No, I don’t believe it…” Mu Anan took a step backwards, shaking her head in disbelief. The next second, she accidentally tripped and fell on the ground.

Fu Sinian looked down at her and said in a cold tone, “You are the only child of Aunt Mu. For her sake, I will excuse you this time. But don’t do that again. I won’t let you off so easily next time.”

He turned around and left without hesitation.

He had once thought about being with Mu Anan because she was Xu Zijin’s sister and had more or less similarities to Xu Zijin.

But he had never been in love with Mu Anan. At the beginning, he had felt grateful to her. Afterwards, he had regarded her as a substitute for Xu Zijin.

So she didn’t need to apologize for having left him at that time because he had never been sad about it.

In the eyes of outsiders, he loved Mu Anan deeply. But in fact, it was merely hearsay. The reason he took care of Mu Anan was just because he wanted to repay his debt of gratitude to her mother.

Although he was a cold-hearted man, he had a grateful heart.

As for Mu Anan, he never owed her anything.
