Oh! My Empress

Chapter 4 - Twelve Years Old?

"Anna, what is my age?" Kim Su Won asked gently. She was astonished at the fact that her skin seemed much smoother and her limbs much shorter for a sixteen year old. Plus, looking at her… ahem… chest, it did not seem as if it had matured enough? She touched her skin again and again to confirm but the conclusion was that she was definitely not sixteen. From the description of Emmeline, she was a beauty at sixteen years of age with a full chest and face sculpted into thin V shape. While right now, this body still had some baby fat on her face.

As she was too used to emulate the characters, it was no problem for her to become the character in the story. However, since Emmeline Whittemore was going to change anyway, according to the novel, why not start it now?

But, it was a bit hard to get used to the archaic way of speaking her language. It was awkward in speaking, so she decided to let go, at least with the maid.

If she told her she was from modern world, the maid would probably go crazy right? Also, since they were still young, there was no telling how the maid would develop in this world. After all, from all the transmigration stories she had read, several characters changed their sides multiple times. She could not entrust her secret to this little maid, not just yet.

The maid was startled at the gentle voice coming from her miss. On the top of that, she was asking her age? Was this amnesia? And what was this weird way of her speaking. Although she could understand everything, it was still not the usual way. Was it some kind of accent that young miss had acquired from somewhere without her knowledge?

"Replying to young miss, you are twelve years old now. But miss, are you feeling alright? Should I call the physician?" Anna replied and looked at the young kid before her suspiciously. The young miss was sitting in the bed and curiously looking around, as if she had never been before in this room. Was it really possible that she had lost her memory?

But she did remember her name! Anna could not really decide what the next course of action should be. The bright eyes of the maid darted here and there, her mind going blank.

Kim Su Won was surprised. She transmigrated to this Emmeline Whittemore\'s body four years before the start of the novel? But there was no mention of Emmeline Whittemore\'s life before the time when that businesswoman transmigrated in Emmeline Whittemore\'s body at sixteen years old.

Apart from the fact that her family was quite lukewarm to her, not really caring about what happened to her and what not and that she was obsessed with the Crown Prince.

That meant there was no advantage of having read the novel, right? From her experience, she would end up changing the course of the story anyway. What was she going to do now?

Kim Su Won massaged her temples. She asked Anna, her maid to get some water for her. And some hangover soup.

"H-Hangover soup? Miss, you could not have secretly drunk alcohol once again last week, right? Was that the reason why you fell into the lake? But your hangover must have gotten over by now!" the maid replied to her miss, Emmeline Whittemore. Her miss\'s demeanor seemed to have changed. Her intimidating aura was completely gone. Was it the result of her being confused on waking up after a week? Could she be a little brave now and ask these questions to her?

"Again? You mean I have been drinking alcohol at this young age?" Kim Su Won opened her eyes wide in shock. She had no idea Emmeline Whittemore had such a habit. Wait a minute. The maid said a week ago. Was there ever an incident like this in the original novel?

If she was unconscious for a week, then it was a major event and must have been mentioned somewhere in the novel, right? Was it something related to the unreleased chapters? She had binge read two years\' worth of chapters in a week sure, but she did not remember much about Emmeline Whittemore\'s childhood. Was it possible that she had lost fragments of memory, there used to be such tropes in the web novels?

But now that she had changed the timeline, and she did not have the business acumen the original protagonist had, what was she to do?

Kim Su Won closed her eyes. She had read this trope far too many times to know what all could be there. She looked for the past memories of original owner in her brain. Check. Those existed. A bundle of memories flowed into her mind except the night she had gotten drunk.

Was she with someone at that time? Was it someone who pushed her in the lake? She had to recover that memory. After all, she was the seventh miss in this household and had enough enemies. It was a pity that before the transmigration of that businesswoman, Emmeline Whittemore had always liked to indulge in luxuries and not worry about learning anything.

Now that she was inside this novel and had to live as Emmeline Whittemore, would she have the business knowledge already in the mind of this body? She tried hard to look for such a miracle, but there was nothing. Okay, not lucky in this case. Anyway, it was a farfetched possibility. She was not disheartened.

Oh yeah, if she did not have anything, she must have inherited some magic item, right? Like a bracelet, a stone, or something like that?

She checked her body for any additional items. No weird ornament, no marks on her body, nothing wrong with her eyes or nose. There was just nothing. Well, the novel was not magical anyway, so she did not mind it as well.

She pouted and rustled the sheets on her bed. Was there some pen that would make her a big writer? Or a stone with power to alter the spiritual properties of everything around? Or a needle pack that would make her the best acupuncture doctor? Nothing!

Oh well, this was not a cultivation novel either, so that was entirely normal too. But now that all the doors were slowly closing, Kim Su Won, now Emmeline Whittemore, had started panicking a bit.

Oh yeah, she might have inherited some spiritual space then. She closed her eyes again and tried visualizing a space with a cute pet or vast riches, but nothing came up here either. Since the plot had already changed with her arrival, she should have some magical item at least! God! Why so unfair?!

She tried one last time. Another trope for all transmigration novels, a system! Of course! Why did she not think of that earlier? She should have gotten something like that right? Something that would make her ultra powerful by making her complete tasks and allotting her points?

She touched her ears, her hands, even tried focusing her mind once again but no weird animal popped up and no robotic voice echoed anywhere. No ranking system, nothing.

Reality dawned on the girl. \'I am doomed!\'
