Mr. President, Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You?

Chapter 67 - Darling, There’s Nothing to Explain

"I did marry you for money, but that was so I can save my brother not to leech on you," Luna corrected him. She didn\'t think she had choices back then, but she would rather be trapped on Hero\'s deal than to accept Sienna Jiang\'s help.

"That inheritance… it is yours. Are you really that soft-hearted, Luna? Didn\'t you realize that all of these happened because you were too kind and easy to be fooled? Say, have the thought crossed on your mind that even if you give up your rights and inheritance from the Jiang family, how sure are you that they wouldn\'t come back for more?" Her husband bombarded her with questions.

Luna fell back on her seat, feeling her strength leaving her body. However, Hero rose to his feet, hooked his arm under her knees, and lifted her up. She was startled by his sudden action but nevertheless wrapped her arms around his neck.

Burying her face on his shoulder, she smelled his clean scent that somehow calmed her.

Indeed. Hero\'s questions never crossed to her. What\'s the ȧssurance that her half-siblings would leave her and Julian alone? If she wasn\'t such a weakling back then, she would\'ve revealed Sienna\'s lies when the latter stole her work.

Luna hated that she was easily fooled by Aiko and Sienna. Aiko had managed to fool her and seduced her own boyfriend right under her nose while Sienna not only stole her work and the glory that was supposed to be hers but also harmed Julian because of her weakness.

At that moment, she hated herself more than anyone else, and yet her heart was telling her to forgive them and move on with her life. She didn\'t want a complicated life filled with revenge and schemes. She only wanted to live her life in peace with her baby and new family.

"To be honest, I don\'t care anymore if I lose my inheritance just as long as I\'ll be ȧssured that I wouldn\'t lose any of my loved ones because of it. I rather lose it than my brother," Luna admitted to her husband.

Lowering her head, she was ashamed of how weak she was in front of him. Her eyes welled up, hands curled on her ŀȧp.

"Am I not allowed to be happy? I only wished to lead a happy life with no remorse or so whatever. What kind of crime did I commit for my life to end this way?" she cried out, but Hero didn\'t say anything, letting her cry her heart out. She must have been holding this from everyone for a long time.

With her sickly mother, a useless father, and a brother who\'s been in an accident; Luna\'s troubled heart must be enduring all these pain alone.

Whatever she had right now, it was all because of this man. When Jasper left with Aiko, she was kicked out of her own apartment due to unsettled bills. Now, she and Fluffy didn\'t need to worry about where they\'d stay.

This private villa owned by her husband was more than enough for her. This small villa couldn\'t be considered small at all as it was complete with two floors with several rooms, a front and a back garden she truly enjoyed with Little Amber and Fluffy, a swimming pool, and—surprisingly—a greenhouse where Hero spent most of his free time.

However, if it was compared to the Jiang Mansion where Sienna and her other half-siblings live, Hero\'s villa was indeed small.

Because Hero Li disliked having too many people crowding around him, their home was being maintained by Madam Lin and her grandson. Two maids were responsible for the indoor cleaning while leaving the outdoor to a gardener.

Hero combed his wife\'s hair with his hand, hoping that it would soothe her somehow. Right now, he only wanted her to learn to rely on him and ask for his ȧssistance. Luna only needed to say a word, and he would comply with her wishes.

"Stop your tears. No more crying, Luna," Hero wiped her tears from her face, and she stared back at him bewildered from his actions once again.

"Why are you so good to me?" she asked without thinking.

Hero froze midway and stared at her tear-stained face.

"I\'m afraid I also don\'t know the answer to that question," he admitted.

Luna halted her tears before slowly lifting her head to look at Hero. She could see a small smile plastered on his face. It was faint but still noticeable. She even caught a complex emotion glint on his eyes. Even she wasn\'t able to comprehend what it was. The only thing she was sure of was it was all directed to her.

Could it be that this man was in love with her?

She gently shook her head. No, it couldn\'t be. Luna Jiang wasn\'t someone who believed in \'Love at First Sight\'; she must be overthinking again.

Luna sniffed and wiped her tears dry. She couldn\'t believe she had a breakdown in front of her husband. She turned her face away, hiding her embarrassment.

Seeing her like this, Hero let out a low chuckle.

Luna snapped at him and glared ferociously.

"What are you laughing at?" she pouted and smacked his ċhėst.

"Nothing, I just think my wife is really cute so maybe that\'s the reason she easily gets bullied." He grinned. "Don\'t worry, wife. Now that you have me, only I can bully you like this." Then, he pinched both of her cheeks.

"Hero Li!" Luna slapped his hand away and tackled him.

She was really tempted to strangle him to death. Couldn\'t he tell that he also troubled her heart? Luna wasn\'t sure what she was feeling about her husband right now.

Luna had always ȧssumed she knew what love was when she was still in a relationship with Jasper and had never thought she was oblivious to what it truly was.

On a normal day, she wouldn\'t pay much attention to her husband\'s appearance. However, seeing him as close as this and lying on her bed beneath her, Luna couldn\'t help to admit that the man she was married to was very handsome. He had a pair of attractive brows, a straight nose, and a face that could put male models and actors to shame if they stood next to him.

Once again, the atmosphere between them was really awkward. How was she supposed to answer his question? However, in the end, Luna could only conceal the confusion in her heart.

"You wish!"

"Eh? If not, hurry up and get up. I know you\'re already pregnant, but don\'t tease me like this again, wife. My patience is running thin with all this teasing from you."

At that moment, her door slightly opened. Little Amber stood at the doorway, finding them both in an awkward position with Luna hovering over Hero who was on his back.

"Baby, let me explain!" Luna exclaimed, her face turning beet red. She couldn\'t believe how unlucky she was for her stepdaughter seeing her like this with Hero.

Oh, my gosh! What should she do now? Little Amber must be thinking she was shameless to seduce Hero on her bed.

"Darling, there\'s nothing to explain, although I must admit I\'m surprised to know your eagerness to share your bed with me." Hero chuckled evilly beneath her.

Ah, this husband of hers? Could she turn back time and not marry this man?

"Hero! Little Amber is watching us!" She hissed back.

"As much as I would like to see you on top, I want to be in control, wife." Hero continued to tease her, his hand moved to her lips and ran his thumb over it.

Luna shrieked and sat back, freeing her husband.

"Ah, why did you move? Amber should get used to seeing us like this. After all, we\'re husband and wife."

"She\'s too young to understand any of these!" Luna retorted before stepping down from her bed and walked towards Little Amber clutching her whiteboard against her ċhėst.

"Baby, what\'s wrong? I thought you said you want a nap?" Luna picked up her stepdaughter and sat at the free side which Hero didn\'t occupy. It seemed that this father and child took a liking of invading her bed.

"You want to sleep here?" she asked Little Amber.

"Amber, you sleep here. Mommy wouldn\'t go anywhere."

Sure enough, Little Amber moved between them and curled next to her Mommy, ignoring her father who reached out to touch her head.
