Mr. Lu, the World's Sweetest Man

Chapter 43

“Okay, then. In the future, you can pick at the bones after I’ve eaten the meat off them.” That said, Jian Zhifei arrogantly walked away from her.

Judging by what she’d said, Jian Zhifei thought of Hua Shasha as a dog.

Jian Zhifei was a strong-willed and expressive person who saw no need to hide her feelings. To her, Hua Shasha was a nobody, someone that didn’t matter to her, so she was going to have her revenge on the spot.

Yun Wei secretly gave Jian Zhifei a thumbs-up.

She, however, wasn’t able to just cut ties with Hua Shasha and Bai Wenping in such a direct, one-off fashion. Those two owed her too much, and she wanted to make them pay for what they’d done to her, bit by bit.

Also, Hua Shasha and Bai Wenping’s families had always tried their best to stay close to the Yun family, so all three families were, for better or for worse, quite closely knit.

If she did go ahead and do her own thing and cut ties with those two, in the future, negative things might be said about the incident—underhanded stuff that might target her.

So Yun Wei resolved to let Hua Shasha and Bai Wenping gradually destroy their own reputations by their own doing.

Despite being slapped by Jian Zhifei in public, Hua Shasha swallowed her pride and forced herself to stay calm, as though nothing had happened.

In fact, her heart was filled with so much hate. She utterly detested all these rich, spoilt girls who could do whatever they wanted without fear of repercussions. She swore that one day she would climb to a higher social status than theirs and trample all over each and every one of them.

Yun Wei stood up and pretended to care. “Shasha, are you okay?”

“I’m okay. Jian Zhifei and I were just fooling around. We’re friends, so why would anything be the matter?” Hua Shasha said loudly, trying to restore some semblance of dignity for herself.

Seeing that the excitement was now over, the other classmates moved away.

Hua Shasha sat close to Yun Wei, enviously admiring her clothes.

Yun Wei’s clothes were all from high-end brands. As far as she was concerned, buying high-end clothes was no big deal. It was the same as other people buying regularly priced clothing.

Since Yun Wei was young and full of youthful exuberance, the high-quality, exquisitely cut clothes made her seem even more elegant and charming.

If not for the fact that she and Yun Wei were different dress sizes, Hua Shasha would’ve stolen all of Yun Wei’s clothes a long time ago.

Green with envy and feeling increasingly frustrated, Hua Shasha, thinking about her background, wondered when she’d ever be able to afford to live like Yun Wei, buying and doing anything and everything she wanted?

Yun Wei didn’t want to talk to Hua Shasha either, so she simply wore a sweet smile on her face.

Just at that moment, some of the female students ran in from outside and started talking animatedly.

Moving closer to the group, she could hear a curly-haired girl saying, “Hey, did you guys know that the Honorary Directors of the School will be visiting during our lesson later?”

“So? They’re just Honorary Directors of the School. What’s the big deal? They’ll all be elderly men of seventy or eighty years old. What are you so excited about?” a girl with long hair scoffed.

“And that’s where you’re wrong. One of the Honorary Directors of our school is a young and good-looking guy,” a curly-haired girl said with a knowing smile.

Unable to restrain herself any longer, Hua Shasha pushed forward and asked, “Don’t tell me Lu Zhanting is coming?”

“Oh, Hua Shasha is so smart, guessing it right on the first try,” the curly-haired girl smiled.

“Wow! Lu Zhanting!”

“Is he really coming here?”

“Surely not?”

The next instant, a resounding gasp of surprise could be heard.

In fact, Lu Zhanting had already made an appearance at Jian Zhifei’s birthday party.

However, a party thrown by Jian Zhifei wasn’t an event that most of these ordinary girls would be invited to. So, out of the entire class, not many of them had attended Jian Zhifei’s birthday party.

Moreover, there had been so many people at that party. And, since Lu Zhanting had always maintained a low profile, he hadn’t responded to anyone who’d taken the initiative to engage him in conversation. So, everyone at the party just left him alone, pretending that he wasn’t there.
