When talking to Hua Shasha, Yun Wei put on a look of childlike ignorance, as if she hadn’t recovered from her head injury.

One of the boys spoke up for Yun Wei. “If that’s the case, Hua Shasha, you shouldn’t make things difficult for Yun Wei.”

After all, men always want to be the hero and help a pretty woman in distress.

However, Jian Zhifei looked incredibly displeased as she stood to the side, sullenly watching Hua Shasha and Yun Wei and trying to work out what exactly they were playing at.

Considering the fact that Hua Shasha had always been on good terms with Yun Wei, Jian Zhifei suspected that these two had conspired to embarrass her.

Noticing that Jian Zhifei looked unhappy, Hua Shasha became even more determined to convince Jian Zhifei of her loyalty by stomping harder on Yun Wei.

Arrogantly, Hua Shasha declared, “The diamond necklace that Zhifei’s wearing is the only one in the world. It was designed and made by world-class craftsmen using the rarest diamonds. Isn’t the fact that Yun Wei wore this fake thing to attend Zhifei’s party proof that she came here to cause trouble for Zhifei? Shouldn’t she apologize for what she’s done?”

“Is this necklace really one of a kind?” a classmate asked.

Hua Shasha crossed her arms and replied, “Of course it is. The real necklace is around Zhifei’s neck. Yun Wei, what are you trying to prove by wearing that fake necklace here?”

Hua Shasha looked intently at Yun Wei, trying to discover her real intentions by looking into those expressive eyes of hers.

But Yun Wei continued to look innocent, smiling as though the entire world were her friend. It seemed as though she had no ill intentions whatsoever toward anyone, let alone a devious agenda.

Convinced that Yun Wei was still the same intellectually-challenged girl she knew her to be, Hua Shasha persisted with her reprimanding. “Yun Wei, it’s human nature to want to look nice. You wanted a necklace that looked like the one Zhifei’s currently wearing and got a replica for yourself. We get that. However, it was wrong of you to wear it to Zhifei’s party and cause a commotion. Apologize to Zhifei now!”

“My necklace is real,” Yun Wei responded. She looked frail but sounded resolute.

“Stop arguing!” Hua Shasha demanded, really angry at how Yun Wei was doggedly sticking to her guns.

“My necklace is genuine!” Yun Wei continued insisting.

As Hua Shasha continued houding Yun Wei, who kept insisting that she’d done nothing wrong, the crowd of onlookers became utterly confused.

“Isn’t the renowned jewelry appraiser Shen Weixia a guest at Zhifei’s party today?” one of the boys said. “Why don’t we let Shen Weixia assess the necklaces to determine which one’s real and which one’s fake? Won’t that resolve this once and for all?”

The suggestion was audibly welcomed by many in the crowd.

Yun Wei’s lips curled upward into a faint smile.

She had planned this little genuine versus fake necklace scene because she’d seen Shen Weixia here at the party earlier.

And had been waiting for someone in the crowd to suggest that he assess them.

With Shen Weixia doing the appraisal, no one would any more questions about the authenticity of the necklaces.

Sizing up the situation, Jian Zhifei realized that if she didn’t have her necklace appraised, she would definitely lose face.

In response, she said, “Fine. Let’s ask Shen Weixia for an appraisal.”

Seeing that everyone’s attention was focused on how this situation would pan out, Hua Shasha declared loudly, “I was the one who found this necklace for Zhifei. With her prestigious status, I wouldn’t dare to try to deceive Zhifei with a fake necklace. Just let the appraiser have a look at it so that I can be exonerated.”

Hearing that Hua Shasha was the one who had found the necklace for Jian Zhifei, the people in the crowd became even more curious to see what the outcome of the appraisal would be.

During the entire incident, Lu Zhanting hadn’t said a single word.
