Manaless Mage

Chapter 128 Duel Between Elites

\'Duel among the elite students?\' Harry thought with his brows knitted slightly in confusion. He hadn\'t heard about any duel, probably because he was busy training with Sarah.

He focused his attention on the five students in front of him and focused his concentration on them, using his high perception to pick up more from their conversation.

--"Yeah. Seems like Dan challenged Han for his position, and he accepted." One of the boys said.

--"isn\'t that weird though, I mean... A duel when the competition is this close."

--"Who cares? They both agreed to the duel you know? All I know is am pumped up to watch their fight."

--"Who do you think will win, Han or Dan."

--"Han, definitely Han. He will wipe the floor with Dan. Just wait."

Most of the students in the academy didn\'t know about Han\'s mana core regressing to the first stage.

The only ones who knew were the instructors and some of the elite students.

This was because the academy didn\'t announce it or anything and simply kept quiet about it.

Han had also been keeping a very low profile, not stepping out of his dorm room and also keeping himself away from other students.

So in their eyes, Han was still a stage two elementalist, and Dan, who was only peak stage one elementalist, had no chance against him.

--"Yeah. That\'s true."

--"Did you also know of the duel between Nathan and Farhen?" One of the girls suddenly said, changing the topic.

--"Seriously?!"

--"I can\'t wait."

--"Yeah, me too."

They kept talking about Nathan and his upcoming fight as they took a turn different from where Harry was headed\' however, he didn\'t bother following them.

His steps slowed and his brows knitted slightly.

\'Nathan...\' The name sounded familiar to him, but he couldn\'t really remember where he heard the name.

After thinking on it for a few seconds, Harry gasped slightly, finally remembering where he first heard the name.

That was the name of the odd combat mage he met a few weeks ago by the stairs. He actually met him twice, first at the stairs and second at the training hall.

Back then, Harry was a lot weaker than his current self, but he could still tell through his instincts that Nathan was strong.

He couldn\'t help but wonder if the how the current him would compare to the combat mage.

It seemed like the combat mage was not just anyone. After all, for the news of his duel to make students this excited it meant he was rather famous.

But still, Harry didn\'t know him. Heck, Harry didn\'t even know the names of all the elite students(top twenty-five academy students).

He had never bothered himself with things like the ranking competition or more popular Elementalists. He only knew about Han and Trent, who held rather \'special places\' in his heart and a few of the more popular ones.

Thinking about it now, the blue-haired student\'s actions had always been weird. He didn\'t discriminate against him or treat him badly like most students would.

Back then, Harry hadn\'t began any elemental classes so in the eyes of the academy elementalists, he was still a manaless trash.

However, Nathan spoke to him normally and even introduced himself without using any condescending tone.

He always had this weird cheerful aura around him which made Harry feel awkward.

"I wonder how strong he is..." Harry muttered. He had never witnessed a combat mage fight and was quite curious.

He turned around and started making his way towards the academy\'s announcement board.

The "Announcement board" wasn\'t a literal board where announcements were written, as the name might imply.

It was a holographic board where new and upcoming events and announcements were posted.

They were always situated in places like halls were lots of students usually pass through.

If there was truly a duel between elite Elementalists as those students said, then it was only natural that it would be posted on the "board".

After walking for a few minutes, Harry finally arrived in front of a transparent blue holographic board, with odd white characters written on it.

He noticed that there were more students in the area than usual, but he wasn\'t so surprised about it.

He stared at the board and almost immediately, his gaze landed on the two potrait images that were placed side by side.

Below it were another two images arranged in a similar manner.

Harry recognized two of them; one containing a familiar blue haired boy who was responsible for most of the injuries he sustained in the past.

And the other, a handsome black haired boy who had a rather weird smile on his face.

Harry\'s eyes shone with a weird glint as he stared at Han\'s name written on the board.

What those students said was true, there was really going to be a duel among the elite ranks.

It was written clearly on the board.

--Han Jones Vs Dan Hills

--Nathan Lane Vs Farhen Tumbler

And it was going to take place, two days from now...

It would unsurprisingly take place on the event arena--the training hall fifth floor, since a duel between elite students was sure to attract a lot of attention in the academy.

Unlike the duel Harry had with Justin that was done in a simple training room, duels that involved \'academy rank\' were conducted on the fifth floor of the training center.

"I will definitely watch this duel." Harry muttered with a slight smile on is face.

****

Hey everyone. I\'m sorry for not updating during the past week. I wasn\'t feeling too well, and my phone suddenly developed some problems--it wouldn\'t turn on.

I wanted to fix it, but due to bad weather, I wasn\'t able to. Even now, my phone isnt fixed, so I used my mom\'s other phone to write this chapter. It is only a small Android, and the screen has faults, so writing this took a lot of time, than it usually would.

My phone should be fixed two to three days from now. When it is, I\'ll try to make a small mass release. (This author\'s note won\'t increase the chapter coin price or anything.)
