Chapter 33 - :-33 Massacre (Part-3)
Whistle....
[Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing.]
The leafs swayed in the air, wind was the factor of the cause. In the coldness of night, the hope to see the sun keeps one going.
A huge tree, standing tall and undeterred was towering the old castle. On one of its branch sat a white armored knight. His helmet hid his face underneath itself.
He was looking towards the huge army of demons, rushing towards their death. The dark night was lit up by the fire that burned the dead demons. His calm gaze shifted towards the wall that surrounded the town.
Faint emotions appeared in his gaze. Cold...would be the word a person who saw his eyes hidden under the helmet would say.
"Fools..." he uttered before disappearing with the wind that brushed against the leaf, sound of whistle echoed.
[Meanwhile]
Both of them wore dark-clothes, a black clock covered their bodies, wearing leather boots they pulled 3-huge cages.
Neither of them spoke anything, a purple mist could be seen surrounding them. They continued to pull the cage towards the old castle.
They stopped after reaching a certain distance ,the huge ,old castle could be seen in front.
They moved towards the cages and pulled away the cover that covered it. The brown cloth easily came off, revealing three huge demons trapped inside the three cages.
Chains holding their bodies in place while the metal mouth holder, clamped their jaws. The monsters were identical to each other, snake like mouth, lion like body ,eagle like claws and green eyes.
Both of the figures looked at each other and immediately turned around. A white armored man stood in front of them. His [Holy-Sword] stabbed in the ground while both of his hands rested on its handle. A white cap attached to his shoulders with the symbol of Graycastle on it.
One of the figures quickly turned around ,intending to release the monsters inside the cages.
Kacha.....
Blood....stained the bars of the cage as an intimidating spear pierced his stomach. Red liquid flowed out of his mouth and the large hole which had appeared in his stomach.
There would be a 80% chance of him dying even after all the treasures that he had. In the [Spiritual world] many strange and dangerous creatures are found, even after becoming a level-1 beyonder, their are still some hidden dangers which may kill you.
But in this new world, other than beyonders ,no one else could enter the Spiritual world much less travel in it, this also meant that their was no danger in entering the spiritual world, something which the beyonders of [Death-pathway] were experts of.
There was no emotion on his cold face, calm hands held the spear which ended the figure's life in a second. The other one also turned back after sensing something was wrong.
Sling.....
A head rolled down, staining not only the bars but also the snow beneath their feet with blood. Kite had decisively struck with his sword and beheaded the other figure, since Azik and Klein, both were experts at using [Soul-medium].
"They weren't under their control..." said Azik as he wiped off the blood on his left cheek. He knew something was wrong immediately after seeing the strange mist surrounding the figures.
"Looks like either the nobles of the [Longsong stronghold] have an Awakened or witch within their ranks..." said Kite while frowning.
This world was much more complicated when compared to the original novel, in this world other than witches ,[Awakened] were another group of people who could use magic. When one of their kind discovered their power, an ensigma of a dragon would appear on their neck.
Witches were considered evil by the [Cross-church] but the [Awakened] were regarded to be God's kind by the Axion church, one of the other religions in the kingdom.
These [Awakened] were given special status and the backing of [Axion Church] which only had one condition, don't do wrong and the god will always have your back.
The number of Awakened was not even half of the witches in this world, they were were rare and thus protected by their religion.
Kite had met the leader of the Axion church in the Kingdom, Saint Martha
,Protector of the Helpless. A beautiful and powerful [Awakened] who wants to help the common people and remove the oppression of nobles.
Unlike the Cross-church, their ideals were strong and unmovable. They too dėsɨrėd to put a leash on the Cross-church, but there dislike for nobles didn't let them work with Kite against them.
Suddenly Kite and Azik, noticed moment as the monsters inside the the cages suddenly opened their eyes. Both of them immediately jumped backwards which the cages creaked.
Thud.....
The chains bounding them broke apart by the sheer force they produced. The bars bend outwards which cracks appeared of the floor surface.
"I smell of blood has stimulated them....!!!" said Kite as he tries to control them as a [Beast tamer] only to fail.
"They don't have a conscious, only an instinct ,to kill....." he summoned his shield and went into battle position while Azik also took his battle stance.
