Lord Of The Witches

Chapter 18 - Chapter:- 18 Disguise

"Your..Your Highness...What is going on ???." He was stuttering, his body shivering. Blood travelled down his cheek to his jaw. It dropped into the pool of blood he was standing on.

In front of him, standing near the candle was Kite. He had just stabbed Tyre in the heart, blood stained his, Roland and Executioner's face and clothes.

A body was lying on the floor of the [Study] ,there was not an ounce of heat in it. The body had already went cold due to the large amounts of blood loss.

Roland had an indifferent expression on his face, he raised his hand toward Kite and handed him the piece of paper that he had written.

Nightingale was quite tense at the current situation as she saw the decisiveness of this mysteries hooded figure. He didn't hesitate before killing Tyre, the traitor.

Kite turned towards left, wind lightly blowed inside the room through the only window in the room. His eyes stared at the red diary which Roland had thrown inside the Fire-place.

Thud thus thus ,the sound of his boots echoed inside the room as he walked towards the Fire-place. He extended his gloves inside the fire and pulled out the burnt diary.

The executioner seeing that his presence was ignored ,cheered up a bit. Roland asked without looking towards the executioner. "So aren't you going to ask why I summoned you.....????"

"No...I don't know, Your Highness...please enlighten your faithful servant."

Roland smiled ,the hooded Kite walked towards the candle placed above the fireplace, he kept the burned diary on the table as he held the paper above the candle.

Fire spread over the it, burning through the words. Kite blew a breath ,extinguishing the fire. He flicked the paper with his finger. The ashes fell down ,on ground.

He held it infront of his face and started reading "June 18, 1576

I have successfully convinced the fourth prince to bring me along him, to [Border land]. It was pretty hard to convince him to do so. That place isn't really all that safe and comfortable to live. I told him that I wanted to faithfully serve His Highness."

"He told me that the place he is going to, is a barren land, filled with mines ,diseases ,poverty and crime. The capital was much better compared to that place. He said that if it wasn't due to the decree of his father, His majesty then he wouldn't have ever gone to such a place."

"But what he didn't knew was that my family was also in that barren land. My father Augustus, a miner ,my only family lives in [Border town]. For giving me a better life he asked one of his close friends to take me to the capital."

"His sacrifices are the reason that today I too have a status ,a comfortable life. I want to return to him and take him back with me, to the capital, to the better life."

"After pleading for sometime, the prince agreed to bring me with him. I am so happy today..."

That bastard killed him....My only family, my father was killed by that damned executioner. My father had recently earned some silver coins due to the crystals he found inside the [Southern mine]. One of his friends tried to kill him for the money, but was killed by my father."

"Unfortunately, the one who my father killed in retaliation was the brother of the executioner who released one of the prisoners inside the Jail to murder my father, I didn't have any proof against him and only got to know about it after I heard two soldiers talking about it."

"I couldn't ask the prince to punish the executioner, I wanted to kill him myself, so I poisoned his food but that damned bastard survived. So I have decided to kill him myself. I don't care if I die doing so. I will have my revenge...."

As Kite finished reading the paper he looked towards the executioner and saw him trembling with a pale face.

Roland said in a cold tone "Tyre tried to kill the executioner but failed, instead got killed by him. He knew that she was Prince's maid so to remove all the evidence he burned her dairy. Unfortunately the Prince's guard apprehended him just as he was about to succeed."

"They extinguished the fire that was burning the diary and retrived this ,a little burned paper which told the truth. So to bring the maid and her father to justice. The executioner was ordered to be executed by His Highness, the fourth prince..."

The executioner was shivering as he somehow gathered the courage to open his mouth to speak.

"Your..Your Highness,...." He could see that the fourth prince was blatantly framing him for the killing of the maid.

Kite asked in a low tone "You would have killed many innocent people, haven't you.....????"

Kite snorted as he said in a cold tone "Humph.....You, a spy of church hasn't done anything against Roland.....????".

Silence ,filled the [Study]. Mellena and Nightingale, weren't able to fully grasp the situation, looking at the shivering executioner they thought 'How can he be a spy.....'

The executioner lowered his head while shivering due to fear, suddenly the aura around him changed. He was no longer shivering, no longer nervous, no longer anxious ,no longer acting.

He looked towards Kite and asked as a smile appeared on his face "What gave me away....????"
