“Then, Aupin, can you use battle aura?” Palebeard asked.

Aupin shook his head.

He had discussed with Violette about hiding the fact that he couldn’t use battle aura… But now there was no point in hiding the secret.

But Aupin still concealed his memory loss.

Palebeard sighed and said, “If someone can activate their Gold or below battle aura, they can my subvert hypothesis. I actually hope that I am wrong!”

Aupin asked, “Then Mr. Palebeard, have you thought of any good ways to allow us to overcome the weird monsters and environment here, so that we can reach our destination smoothly?”

Palebeard smiled bitterly and said, “Sir, you overestimate me. I am just an old man. I have served the Sand Castle Clan for most of my life. The reason for leaving was to personally meet the orcs, to explore the unique ecology of the Orc Continent, and complete one of my academic works.

“I named this work ‘Theory of Evolution’. I think that although nature has always maintained a good cycle and balance, the forms of life living in it are not static. Whether it is us humans, dragons, or beasts, we are all slowly evolving.

“This evolution is closely related to changes in the natural environment and changes in the way of survival.”

Aupin nodded and said, “This will be a classical piece of work.”

Palebeard bowed and said sincerely, “It is my misfortune to suffer a shipwreck, but encountering so many weird beasts here makes me ecstatic. This island strongly proves my “Theory of Evolution” from another angle. For this reason, I took the initiative to apply and join the exploration team: the purpose being to get in touch with these beasts for the first time.

“It is an honor meeting you sir. During this period, I will serve you, give my all, and do my best!

“Sir I apologize for failing your expectations, but please forgive my incompetence. After all… I’m just a scholar.”

“I understand.” Aupin nodded.

Yellowteres and Blueteres were sold as slaves, but Palebeard did not really take refuge in him.

Palebeard was saying that during the period of escaping from the island, he would assist Aupin with all his strength. And when he arrived on the Orc Continent, he would leave Aupin, move freely, and complete his “Theory of Evolution”.

“If I become the White Sand City Lord, I will definitely help you gather information about the orcs,” Aupin continued.

“I will be eternally grateful for this!” Palebeard bowed deeply again.

Violette suddenly said, “If Palebeard’s hypothesis is true, and this island and the monsters are all man-made, then there must be a center hub on this island. What happens if we find this hub?”

This idea was bold!

Blueteres quickly said, “This is too dangerous, isn’t it? They can transform the entire island and create so many beasts… We can’t fight against them at all. This is simply a death wish!”

Violette smiled and shook her head slightly. “Actually, not quite.”

“Think about it carefully. According to our previous analysis, there are two possibilities.

“The first possibility is that the owner of the island has left and is not on the island. This is the best time for us to raid the center hub.

“The second possibility is that the owner of the island has always been here, but hasn’t taken any action. They are spying on us, playing with us, or don’t care about us at all. However, if we successfully escape from the island, they will definitely take action to eliminate us in order to keep this island secret.

“Thus, instead of escaping, it’s better to go to the center hub.

“Once the center is destroyed, we can stop the teleportation and restore the environment on the island. We can use magic and battle aura, but the beasts will collapse. This is extremely beneficial for our escape.”

Blueteres thought about it and agreed with Violette!

Violette looked at Aupin again, her eyes shone brightly. “Sir Aupin, we are going to the Orc Continent to fight for the control of White Sand City. If we can obtain such magic techniques, we can produce Silver and Gold-rank beasts. Even though the fierce beasts can only last for a short time before exploding, won’t this be beneficial for us?”

Instantly, Aupin was shocked.

How extravagant was it to have Gold-rank subordinates!

Being able to produce them sounded wonderful.

What was even more wonderful was that the created beasts were not afraid of death, and would fight with their lives. This would trouble and even frighten the enemy.

Aupin looked at Violette’s eyes. Her pair of purple crystal eyes shined like gold coins.

Aupin’s understanding of Violette suddenly deepened.

The young knight couldn’t help but think, This young girl is indeed the president of a chamber of commerce. She will risk her life to pursue possible huge benefits!

But Aupin did not express his opinion, he looked at Palebeard instead.

“Palebeard, what do you think?” Aupin questioned.

The previous conversation greatly improved Aupin’s opinion of Palebeard. Aupin really felt the great power of knowledge.

It was like Palebeard’s rich knowledge, experience, and wisdom had unveiled a layer of mist on this mysterious island for Violette and Aupin.

“Sir,” Palebeard said slowly, “I don’t agree with Violette’s suggestion.”

“Firstly, we don’t know the specific location of the center hub. To find the center, we must traverse all over the dangerous island. We have to face all kinds of weird beasts and harsh natural environments.

“Secondly, even if we find the center, according to common sense, the owner of the island must have deployed a strong defense there. Can we fight the defense? Once we attack the center, will the owner be alarmed?

“Thirdly, the existence of the island owner, the changes in environment, and these ferocious beasts are all a hypothesis, there is no direct evidence. Maybe my guesses are all wrong. This could be a strange island, a natural creation, and we will never be able to figure out the power and will of nature.

“Fourthly, despite the teleportation, there is a time interval between the teleportations. In theory, as long as we stay in the correct direction and travel fast enough, we can traverse the mountains and forests, and return to the beach. Even if we were teleported again in the middle of our journey, it is likely a random teleportation. Therefore, as long as we repeat our actions, we are likely to reach the destination.”

Aupin thought about it for a while, then nodded. “Good analysis. The goal of the center hub is vague, the risk is too great, and our strength is insufficient. The first goal is to meet with the large forces and build the seaship, then escape the island as soon as possible.”

“I will follow your orders, Master,” Blueteres said quickly.

Palebeard seemed to be relieved.

Violette opened her mouth. She hesitated to speak, and finally she remained silent.

“Send out the orders. Rest for another quarter of an hour, then we will set off,” Aupin said.

“Sir…” Palebeard spoke again, “I have a small suggestion.”

“Mr. Palebeard, please speak.”

“Sir, please allow me to report a delightful discovery to you.” Palebeard pointed at the small map of the jungle area. “Right here is the forefront of our current exploration. There is a large flock of goats living here: at least thousands of goats.

“I strongly recommend hunting down this flock of goats. We would have quite an abundant food supply.”

Aupin’s eyebrows frowned slightly. “A flock with thousands of goats?”

The young man looked at Palebeard, then at Blueteres.

Blueteres immediately said, “Sir, it was indeed a large flock of goats. We have tried and successfully hunted two. They are cowardly and gentle. They only want to escape and are not dangerous. Many members of the expedition team believe that this is a gift from God!”

“However, we currently have sufficient food reserves,” Violette said.

“Currently this is the case.” Palebeard nodded. “But we have to prepare for many scenarios. For example, when the teleportation mechanism is activated, and we are thrown into the desert again.”

Palebeard looked at Aupin again, he knew that Aupin was the one that could make a decision. He said, “From our investigation, the leader of this flock only exudes a Bronze-rank aura.

“Aupin, don’t worry, this goat flock is at the lower end of the hierarchy. There must be many beasts, even Gold-rank beasts that feed on the goats. The White Feather Elk may be one of them. Therefore, if we hunt the flock on a large scale, the biggest risk is not the flock itself, but other predators.

“This danger is easy to avoid, after all, we are not directly confronting these predators.”

Aupin was silent.

Palebeard continued, “Sir Aupin, the reason why our exploration team set off was mainly to gather enough food for the entire shipbuilding team. Although we were lost on the island for many days, if we bring enough food back, it will definitely uplift the people and be of huge help. At the same time, it will help you.”

Aupin nodded. “This is a good suggestion, so we will change the plan a bit. Hunt the flock first, then set off.”

From his previous experience, Aupin knew that there were not many opportunities for easy hunting on this kind of crisis-ridden island.

If they gave up now, there might not be such a good opportunity in the future.

And according to the plan, they would not travel deep into the island again.

Thus, he agreed to Palebeard’s suggestion.
