Luciel just waited patiently for this person in front of him to answer. But to his dismay, Gideon just kept saying "well... Um... How do I begin". He got a little fed up and responded;

"o-okay" Gideon took a deep breath and lets out his explanation:

"So what happened was that I got attacked by one of those creatures and Kaiden rescued me. He carried me somewhere and we hid there"

"Why did you have to hide?" Luciel leaned closer to Gideon to pry out the answer. The closeness made Gideon gulp in fear.

"Kaiden was... cursed"

"If Kaiden got cursed then I would have seen it. Cursed how?"

"He just got cursed... and the reason why he\'s okay is because I"

"You?"

"Absorbed his essence" He tried to make up a bullshit explanation as to why the two of them had to hide in the first place.

"So let me get this straight, Kaiden got cursed and the reason why he\'s alright now is that you "Absorbed his essence"? Is that why your powers are now more powerful? Which half did you use to "absorb" it"

"N-neither side"

Luciel stared at Gideon while Gideon was averting his gaze. It was awkward and the man opened his mouth.

"Did you-"

"DEON! I heard you were looking for me!" Kaiden barged into the room and walked up behind Gideon\'s chair.

"Kaiden..." Gideon called out to the person that he and Luciel had been talking about. Even though it was this person\'s fault that he got into this situation, he was also thankful that he showed up.

"Father, if you wanted to ask Gideon about the incident you could have just asked me instead" Kaiden smiled at Luciel.

"Heh, then I wouldn\'t have known the exact truth of what happened... and besides that, you were already given a chance to explain but you dodged my question" Luciel smiled back at his son. He knew that his father had already figured out what happened between him and Gideon. A blush appeared on his cheeks and Kaiden grabbed Gideon\'s wrist to pull him away.

"We\'ll talk about this later Kaiden" Luciel says to the two before they left the room.

He lets out a frustrated sigh and instead of pouring the whiskey into his glass, he straight up drank from the bottle.

\'These kids...\'

Kaiden brought Gideon to his room. He immediately grabbed Gideon by the shoulders and inspected him from head to toe, checking if he\'s still in one piece. This action reminded Gideon of Theodora and Stephen checking on his condition whenever they heard he got into a fight. He couldn\'t help but laugh a little because of that little thought of his. Hearing his laughter, Kaiden was confused but he couldn\'t help but sigh.

"I went to check up on you but the nurses told me that you went out looking for me. Why didn\'t you bring a nurse with you to guide you? You\'re lucky I found you in time because I have no idea what father could have done to you" Kaiden still had his hold on Gideon and he squeezed him a little bit.

"And I am thankful that you did find me in time" Gideon smiled as he raised his hand to remove himself from Kaiden\'s hold.

"You worry me a lot" Kaiden said helplessly and Gideon didn\'t know how to respond to that.

"You didn\'t answer my question though. If you wanted to look for me, why didn\'t you ask someone to call for me?"

"I did and they brought me to this building. They also told me that your room was on the left side of the stairs but who knew they were lying to me and sending me to the lion\'s pit" Gideon frowned as he rubbed his arms. He was still cold and Kaiden took notice of this.

To be honest, when Kaiden first heard that Gideon went alone, he got so angry at the nurses. How could they just let a patient out in the night? Seeing Gideon in his thin pajamas without a coat to warm him and hearing the explanation on how he ended up in King Luciel\'s Study only made him even more frustrated.

\'They think they can just disobey my orders because I\'m only the prince\' Kaiden was filled with murderous intent. Perhaps the nurses thought he was only joking when he said he\'d feed their heads to the dogs.

Gideon sensed the murderous intent and grabbed Kaiden\'s hand. He squeezed it the same way Kaiden did earlier. Kaiden feeling the hand squeeze was surprised. Gideon didn\'t care if he was surprised, just as long as he wasn\'t going to kill anyone because of him then it\'s good.

"Calm down Kaiden"

"I am calm, but um... does this mean you\'re not upset with me?" Kaiden looked down at his hand that was still being held by Gideon. Gideon lets go of Kaiden\'s hand and turned away.

"Who said that I was upset?"

"No One"

"Then why did you assume that I was?"

Kaiden then realized that he just assumed things again. He felt so stupid right bot but he\'s also relieved to know that Gideon wasn\'t angry at him. He couldn\'t help but laugh at himself.

"Kaiden?" Gideon was confused why this guy startled chuckling.

"I\'m sorry I\'m sorry... I just thought you\'d be upset because of what you had to do when I was "poisoned" as you said" Kaiden smiled at Gideon and Gideon felt his face get warm.

\'of all the parts he could overhear, why that part\' He was red as a tomato especially when he got reminded of the incident.

"I-it\'s fine, you were in trouble and you needed help..." Gideon mumbled while still avoiding Kaiden\'s gaze.

"Actually, now that I thought about it, I thought you were the one upset with me"

"Why?" Kaiden moved to peek at Gideon\'s expression right now but the other person was still avoiding him.

"Well you suddenly kept moving away from me so I assumed that you felt disgusted"

"No no! I just thought you were uncomfortable with me!" Kaiden tried to clarify this misunderstanding.

"Then you\'re not disgusted with me?"

"I would never be disgusted by you! I thought you were disgusted with me"

\'This was a terrible confession\' Kaiden immediately thought and turned his back on Gideon.

Gideon didn\'t want to continue this topic any longer. At least it was clarified that neither of them was disgusted by one another. Now to go back to the main reason why he was looking for Kaiden...

"Do you know where my things are?" Gideon asks Kaiden who was still trying to recover from his embarrassment. He needed to contact Stephen and Theodora. He knew those two would be very worried especially when he was out for 3 almost 4 days.

"I have them, they\'re over here" Kaiden walked to a cabinet and pulled out a drawer. He took out Gideon\'s suit from that day as well as his wallet and cellphone.

"I wasn\'t able to charge your phone since we have different phones..." Kaiden apologizes as he hands Gideon his things.

"Ah... That\'s a pity" he wanted to contact his guardians as soon as possible. Noticing his mood, Kaiden panicked a little.

"But! I can ask a servant to get a charger tomorrow morning"

"That would be nice" Gideon smiled, knowing that Kaiden was trying to comfort him.

"Yes, so don\'t worry about it"

"I won\'t. Thank you, I just needed these" Gideon sounded like he was about to leave. And Kaiden was right, he was walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Kaiden asks.

"I\'ll return to where I was staying. It\'s getting late."

"Right it is getting late. I can\'t let you go out in the cold especially in those clothes. If you\'re tired, you can rest here"

Gideon blinked and Kaiden scratched his head in embarrassment.

"Don\'t worry, I\'ll be staying up to finish some work. If I get sleepy, I can just sleep in another room if that\'s what you\'re worried about"

"No no, I can\'t possibly take your bed. I\'ll just head back-"

"You want to head back to the place where the workers nearly sent you to your death?"

Gideon hesitated. Kaiden wasn\'t wrong there. Although they did feed him dinner, they did lie to him. And as Theodora told him, trust no one here. Right now, Kaiden was the only person he could trust.

"Then, I shall impose on your kind generosity... But I can\'t just hog your bed! And besides that, you have a huge bed" Gideon points to Kaiden\'s king-size bed.

"I\'ll just stick on one side of the bed, if you\'re really worried just put a pillow in between. And besides, we slept together when we were kids"

Kaiden mentally screamed thinking \'BECAUSE WE WERE KIDS BUT IT\'S DIFFERENT NOW\'. He knew if he still refused, Gideon would go back on his word and return to his room.

"Alright if I get tired, I\'ll sleep on the bed"

"No ifs. You\'re not working"

"huh?"

"I can\'t sleep when someone else is awake in the room. It feels weird, You\'re sleeping with me"
