I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 305: The Fastest Adventurer

Aquarius glared at the smirking king. He clenched his fists and sighed, watching the field for the first match to begin.

"I really don't get this," Midnight crossed his arms and pouted. "Why would they allow Connor to fight when we need him tomorrow?"

"It's their way of saying that they have their own plans," Aquarius replied. "They're hiding something that they should've told us before. It must be something to do with the crowd. They are pleasing them as much as they can."

"This is weird," Ed narrowed his eyes. "Why do they need to hide something from us? What side are they on?"

"I don't know, Ed," Aquarius sighed. "I don't know."

Inside the field of the coliseum was the ring that the participants were asigned to stand on. The stone platform looked and felt tough with Connor thinking it could withstand up to half his power.

"And the seventh round, Battle of Threes, will begin in…" Zia trailed off, smirking as she watched the Champions prepare themselves. "Three, two, one, start!"

"They really want us to go all out," Connor chuckled while forming circles with his arm. "This is good. I want to go all out."

"Okay, here's the plan–"

One of Connor's teammates wasn't able to finish when he blasted himself to the middle of the ring. He had an intense expression on his face, an expression filled with flaming rage. "Infernal Altar."

Dragging his other foot on the ground, Connor slammed his palm to the stone platform. He raised his head that showed his glowing red eyes. "Feel the flames of the Inferno."

"What is he doing?!" Elliot yelled. "Connor–"

He was cut off when Aquarius raised his hand in front of his head. "Let him."

"But he'll annihilate them," Elliot argued. "Aquarius, they'll perish."

"You really think he'll activate such a dangerous magic with only showing that much mana?" Aquarius quirked his brow. "This is why Lance thinks you're still not ready yet. You're strong, but you're also young. You need just a tad bit more experience."

"Even you think that I'm incapable," Elliot lowered his head. "Then, I will train hard, and study even harder. By the time all this ends, I promise you will acknowledge my skills and abilities to establish a new guild."

"Don't say to me," Aquarius looked back to Connor, leaving Elliot from his gaze. "Say that to Lance."

Elliot looked at the opposite balcony. There, his eyes locked with the black-haired prince. With a smile, awkward shrugged and mouthed, "I'm sorry."

Lance just nodded and lingered his eyes down to Connor who was now laughing hysterically. Elliot pouted with a chuckling Ed by his side.

"He's really dense sometimes," Ed rolled his eyes. "Talk to him later. He'll come around."

With that, they continued watching Connor's match. On the stone platform was a flaming circle that surrounded him, the circle trailed down to flaming lines that placed the other champions on a circle.

"What is this?"

"I can't get out!"

"I can't even move."

Connor heard the ones in his bracket yell, "We're your teammates. What are you doing?"

With a grin on Connor's lips, the flames all over the ring vanished. The screaming crowd was silenced, not knowing what just happened. The flames were all over the stone platform at one moment, and it looked like it was about to swallow all the other Champions.

"They're stunned!" Connor yelled. "What are you waiting for?!"

Connor leaped and placed his knees to his chest forming a fetal position, his arms extended to his side as a surge of raging red flames came out of his back. "Phantom Phoenix!"

"What kind of Adventurer is he?" Connor's teammates chorused.

With the light show Connor put up, they decided to take down their enemies. Madison had the power of metal. She could conjure daggers with her hand and could throw four at a time. She could also control their direction as long as they are inside her range.

On the other hand, Mimi could conjure a whip with her palm. Raising both her hands, she created two whips that she used as her weapons.

"I'll battle you tomorrow after this," Madison said to Mimi.

Mimi chuckled and nodded, "I will."

The flames on Connor's back transformed into a shape of two pairs of wings, one kept him afloat while the other fired flaming feathers at the enemies. His wings were so bright that if you look at it from the outside, there would seem like a gigantic bonfire inside the stadium.

"This won't do," a man from bracket A said. "He will get us at this– argh!"

One of Connor's feathers hit him. He immediately touched his arm and looked at the damage, a grin etching on his face after he saw that it wasn't as dangerous at it seemed to look.

"He's bluffing again!" the man yelled. "The feather only took 10HP!"

"You fooled us once, but never again!" a woman from Bracket C yelled with pure rage. She had a spear on her hand that she used to throw like it was a javelin.

The wings Connor used to fly shifted in front of him, blocking the spear and melting it into nothingness.

"W-What?" the woman stuttered. "This can't be…"

Connor chuckled and whispered to himself, "Behold, the power of an Eternal."

Connor's role was to distract their opponents. While they were focused on his fire display, his two teammates were eliminating the opposing Champions one by one.

"Connor made a really great move here," Aquarius analyzed. "He examined his teammates and found out that both of them have the Stealth Knight class, an Assassin and a Rogue."

"What is the difference between the two?" Elliot couldn't help but ask. "In the classes, only the Knight and the Stealth Knight would follow different paths. The others would go to a straight line."

"Some Knights would become tanks, and others would become damage dealers," Aquarius started. "Just like that, Rogues would rely on speed while Assassins would rely on damage. That Madison is an Assassin while the other one is a Rogue. Her choice of weapon is questionable though."

"Won't that hinder her speed?" Minos thought. "If she uses a long ranged attack while she–"

He was cut off when Mimi had pulled a man's leg down from the other side of the room. The man's eyes widen, only able to watch himself slowly fall and feeling the ground on his back with a thud not another moment later.

"W-What was that?" he asked himself.

Mimi smirked and retracted her whip back. This etched a smirk on Minos's lips. "So, she does that. Very good choice then."

"She has a Faint," Aquarius said. "Her Faint allows her to see half a second into the future."

"That's not a Faint, that's a whole ability right there," Elliot gasped. "A split second is a game changer."

"But then, the consequences is severe," Aquarius said. "One use of this faint is a day less in her lifetime. Now I know why her name is familiar."

"It's the Youngest Sister, Mimi," Minos said. "They're a group of four female siblings with codenames in the order of their birth. Eldest Sister, Second Sister, Third Sister, and Mimi is the Youngest Sister."

"What's up with them?" Elliot asked. "Are they dangerous?"

"Let's just say that they're one of the best groups when it comes to assassination quests," Aquarius said. "They're also one of the few that has their files locked for some reason, this meant that they're sort of a big deal. But that's not the one you should be worried about right now."

Elliot gulped as he watched Mimi move in the ring. She's an assassin, meaning she has a big advantage over her opponents, especially when they are distracted like the way they are now.

While Mimi and Madison took out one Champion at a time, Connor stepped out of his fetal position. She smirked and landed slolwy to the ground, making his wings vanish into thin air.

"How many have you taken out?" Connor asked.

"Five, before you interrupted," Mimi grunted.

"So, only one then," Connor turned around and faced a man with long blonde hair. He had a thin armor with him, with a rapier still inside its scabbard.

"I really don't like introductions," the man said. "Can we just fight?"

"Sure," Connor grinned and extended both his hands to his side. He lit them up with flames that went out in a split second. His eyes widened after feeling a flash of aura get closer and closer.

Not a split second later, the man was in front of him. His rapier was on his right hand, holding it to the side while he stared at Connor in the eyes, "I also don't like talking."

"What do you think you're–"

Mimi and Madison were taken out before Madison could even finish her sentence. They were slammed to the ground with their enemy seemingly not moving from his position.

"This is what I was wary of," Aquarius placed his head to the back of his palm while his elbow was on the armrest. "The fastest Adventurer, the Knight of a Thousand Flowers is their enemy."
