I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 265: Ethan vs Janine vs Rocky (3)

His spear crashed into a rock, breaking the tip off and letting him slip. Ethan had to thrust the remainder of his spear into the side to stop himself from falling. He squatted on the shaft of his spear and held it with his right hand.

Ethan's left hand touched the bort behind him, shaping another spear. "I don't usually use this technique since it's a do or die move, but this is do or die."

"That was a good move," Janine complimented, looking over at Ethan. "It was fast and powerful, but you lack control over it."

"I know," Ethan whispered. He leaped from his spear, pulling it out from the rock and stood on top of it. "I know my weaknesses, and I know you barely have any. But I'm not going to let this weaknesses bring me down."

"That's good!" Rocky cheered. His horse leaped on the rocks one by one, getting himself closer to Ethan. "Earth user. I'm intrigued. They said earth users have the strongest will to fight on, so I could see where your burst of strength came from after your helpless situation."

"But can you keep up?" Janine smirked and vanished. Her aura was completely hidden from all the senses. In his position now, Ethan could be at a disadvantage since she could easily prey on him.

He slid down the rock and traveled below. Rocky was looking for Janine while pouncing on top of the rocks one by one. When Ethan thought it was safe from him, he saw the clown twist his head to his direction, "Earth user!"

Rocky spun and threw his lance like a javelin. The speed of the projectile was so fast, it was hard for Ethan to even keep up with it. The boy rotated his wrists to spin his spears, slashing both of them forward to stop the incoming projectile.

"I thought you couldn't block that," Rocky chuckled. "Now try to recover from the impact. I'll look for Ms. Invisible first."

"Recover?" Ethan asked himself. It was then that he felt his arms throb. He could only scream as he fall to his knees, feeling the pain of broken bones in his arms. "The impact was that much?"

Ethan stared at the rock beside him. He was thinking of something that's probably going to help him protect his body. But it would have to take him a miracle to pull it off.

Placing his palm on the shiny black rock, Ethan took a deep breath and let the rock bort flow out like water. The bort drove around his skin, wrapping his arms, down to his chest, and finally to his legs.

"Is he doing what I think he's doing?!" Irv gasped.

"I believe so, Irv. This is a bit unprecedented," Zia said. "Everyone knows only a handful of people can do this and we are witnessing someone do it for the first time, incredible."

The black diamond-like rock hardened. It took the shape of a shoulder pad, a chest plate, a knee pad, a pair of boots, and a helm. Ethan used bort as a suspender in his forearm to prevent the broken bones from further being damaged.

He curled his body and opened it, a cape made of bort formed behind him. It was black and only covered half his back as it flowed like a trail.

The crowd went wild after seeing this. It was common for earth users to form weapons or armor through earth, they call this moulding. But then for most of them, they could only mould one weapon or piece of armor.

Moulding more than one weapon or armor like this was incredibly rare, and someone having this ability is rarer.

An Adventurer with an earth affinity, or its correspondence like sand, glass, lava, or even crystal has their body imbedded with a certain weapon or armor. They are able to weild this item through practice and training.

It was why most earth users do not carry around weapons with them. If they can get ahold of a ground, they would have their weapons.

"Do we have a rising Adventurer here, Irv?" Zia smirked. "Because I think the Azure Scorch Guild's members have only been showing miracles so far. They're showing sides that we have never seen before, ever."

"Maybe this is the rise of the Azure Scorch Guild?" Irv asked. "They are like reverse meteors. Reverse meteors are like meteors, but they rise up in the sky, instead of falling down."

"That's a weird way to put it, but they are rising like reverse meteors, indeed!" Zia cheered.

Ethan felt a presence coming towards him. He turned to the side and saw Janine revealing herself, raising her krises and slashing them against his armor.

If he was bare right now, he would have his guts gush out like a river. The chest plate blocked the krises, making it only make as small as a scratch.

Yet, Ethan felt like his stomach was punched by a bear. Janine flipped her body backwards, and vanished again, running through the rocks just in time for Rocky to arrive.

"Oh, so you have an armor too!" Rocky cheered. "That's amazing!"

He placed his hand on the neck of his horse and pulled out a lance from it. The horse seeped the bort from the rock beneath it while forming a weapon for Rocky. Anyone could tell that he was used to this technique, showing mastery and superiority over Ethan.

"Try forming a familiar with it too," Rocky said. "Familiars are animals of your soul and they will become a make or break in a situation in the future."

"I barely could maintain this armor," Ethan chuckled. "Yet you want me to do another thing? I can't."

Ethan didn't know what had gotten into his mind. He blasted himself from the ground and into where Rocky was. Their weapons clashed and created sparks. They both grinding them together, trying to test who the stronger person was in between them.

Ethan's arm felt like they were going to break. Rocky was too powerful for him even when he was using the armor. His movements were starting to become sloppy as he tried to balance himself on the rock while fighting.

"You're getting pretty good, but more tired," Rocky complimented. "As a knight, I commend your strength, young child. But I don't think you're going to make it. If you were able to defeat me, you'll have to deal with Janine in that state."

"Okay," Ethan whispered, slashing his spears without showing any signs of slowing down.

Rocky was silent for a bit, he didn't expect such an answer from the boy, "What?"

"Then I'll just have to defeat her after I deal with you!" Ethan yelled. He used the horse as a stepping stone to jump, suddenly spinning while he was in mid-air. His first spear was blocked by Rocky, both the rocks clashing with sparks lighting them up.

The other spear hit Rocky on his arm. The spear swerved him away and made him fall off his horse, blowing away a couple of meters back.

In the place where he was about to crash, Janine appeared. She crossed her krises and slashed Rocky, finally eliminating him.

"And our eight Champion is eliminated!" Irv yelled. "Now the close fight between Ethan and Janine, who shall win this time?"

When she stopped to look for Ethan, he was gone from the rock. "Wait, where did he–"

"I win," Ethan whispered and slashed his the blunt end of his spears right across Janine's chest. Ethan's eyes widened when his spear went pass through her chest.

"Nice try," Janine chuckled. "But it ain't enough."
