Harry Potter's Book of Sin

Chapter 38

Filch snorted when Maka denied the existence of werewolves in the forbidden forest.

"Who said no? For a long time in the past, the cry of werewolves has been lingering, which was the heart disease of all the students in the school at that time." he sneered.

As he spoke, Hagrid strode towards them from the darkness, with teeth following him. Hagrid carried his huge stone bow and a fully dressed quiver on his shoulder.

"It's almost time," he said. "I've been waiting for half an hour. How about Marca, Harry, Hermione?"

"You shouldn't be so polite to them, Hagrid," filch said coldly. "After all, they came here to be punished."

"That's why you're late, isn't it?" Hagrid frowned at filch. "You've been teaching them, huh? This isn't where you teach people. Your task is completed and I'll be in charge from now on."

"I'll be back at dawn," filch said, "to pick up their wreckage."

He spoke fiercely, then turned and walked towards the castle. The lamp swayed and disappeared into the darkness.

Then Malfoy suddenly turned to Hagrid.

"I'm not going into the Forbidden Forest!" there was a trace of panic in his voice, which made Harry feel very happy.

"If you want to stay at Hogwarts, you have to go," Hagrid said mercilessly. "You have done something wrong, and now you must pay the price."

"Working here is an employment job, not a student. I thought we could write about inspection at most. If my father knew I was doing this, he would -"

"He'll tell you that's what Hogwarts is like," Hagrid said rudely. "Writing check? What's good for you? You have to do something useful, or you'll have to go away. If you think your father is willing to let you get fired, just go back to the castle, pack up and go!"

Seeing Malfoy staring at Hagrid for a while, Hagrid finally lowered his eyes, and Hagrid continued to speak.

"Well," said Hagrid, "now listen carefully. What we're going to do tonight is very dangerous. I don't want to put anyone in danger."

"Come here with me first -"

He led them to the edge of the forbidden forest, raised the lamp high, and pointed to a narrow path that gradually disappeared into the depths of the black forest.

"Look over there," said Hagrid. "Do you see that shining thing on the ground? Silver! That's the unicorn's blood. A unicorn in the forbidden forest was badly hurt by something. This is the second time this week. I found one dead last Wednesday - we should try to find the poor Unicorn and get rid of the pain as soon as possible."

"What if the thing that hurt the unicorn... Found us first?" asked Malfoy, with uncontrollable fear in his voice.

"As long as you're with me or fangya, no creature in the forbidden forest will hurt you." Hagrid said, "don't leave the path! Well, now we'll split up and look for the blood. There's blood everywhere. Obviously, it has been falling and wandering since last night at least."

"I want teeth!" Malfoy said hastily, confused by the terrifying appearance of the big hound.

"Well, but let me remind you, he's a coward," said Hagrid. "So, Malfoy, Neville and toothy go the same way, Marca, um... Marca, how about you go with toothy? I think you can help me watch toothy so that he won't run back when he's suddenly afraid."

"No! No, that... Mr. McLean, you go with them, our side... That... No problem." Malfoy's resistance to Maka is obviously no less than that of the forbidden forest.

"Well, all right! Me, Marca, Harry and Hermione, go the same way." Hagrid nodded.

"If anyone finds a unicorn, fire a green spark, okay? Take out your wand and practice. By the way, if anyone is in trouble, fire a red spark, and we'll all come to you - all right, everyone be careful, let's go."

The dense canopy in the Forbidden Forest blocks out most of the moonlight, so the forest looks quite dark. Even Hagrid, with a lantern in his hand, could only illuminate a small area around him.

"Fluorescence flickers." Maka pulls out her wand and improves the visibility around her.

"Thank you," said Hagrid. "That will make us look more carefully."

They walked in for a while and came to a fork in the road. The two groups began to act separately.

They walked silently, their eyes fixed on the ground. From time to time, you can see that there will be a piece of silver blood on the fallen leaves on the ground, with a faint blue in the light.

Maka has stopped thinking about the volume of truth. Next, if there is no accident, there should be some interesting things.

"Could it be the werewolf who killed the unicorn?" asked Harry.

"I haven't seen a werewolf here," Hagrid said. "But even if there are werewolves, it won't be so fast. It's not easy to catch a unicorn. They have strong magic. I've never heard of Unicorns being hurt before."

They passed a thick tree stump covered with moss, where the sound of gurgling water could be vaguely heard. Obviously, there is a stream somewhere nearby.

On the winding path, there are still scattered Unicorn blood.

"Are you all right, Hermione?" Hagrid whispered. "Don't worry. Since it's so badly hurt, it can't go far. We'll soon - no, hide behind that tree!"

Before Hagrid could remind her, Marca had dragged Hermione into the nearby trees. Hagrid glanced at Harry and kept holding him. He grabbed Harry and took him away from the path and hid behind a towering oak tree.

He drew out a feather arrow, put it on a stone bow, raised it and was ready to shoot.

Then Harry heard something rustling and dragging on the nearby leaves. Hagrid squinted at the dark path. After a few seconds, the sound gradually disappeared.

"I see," he murmured. "There's one thing that doesn't belong here."

I'm afraid no one can compare Hagrid's familiarity with the forbidden forest. Maka was not surprised that he judged so accurately.

"Werewolf?" asked Harry.

"Werewolves have average endurance, but they have strong speed and explosive power. They won't walk so slowly." makala walked out of the trees with Hermione and looked at the dark forbidden forest with deep meaning.

"Marca's right," Hagrid said positively. "Well, come with me. You have to be careful now."

Just as they were moving cautiously at a slower speed, they suddenly saw something moving in the open space in front of them.

"Who's there?" cried Hagrid. "Come out - I'm armed!"

"Hagrid, that's a horse man," said Maka.

The thing walked into the open space - people above the waist, red hair and beard; But below the waist was a brownish red shiny horse with a long red tail.

Harry and Hermione opened their mouths in surprise.

"Oh, it's you, Ronan," said Hagrid with a sigh of relief. "How are you?"

He stepped forward and shook hands with the horse man.

"Good evening, Hagrid," said Ronan, his voice deep and sad. "Do you want to shoot me with a bow and arrow?"

"I have to be vigilant, Ronan," said Hagrid, patting his quiver. "There is a bad guy moving around in this forest. Oh, by the way, this is Marca McClane, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, who are students in the school above. Let me introduce you to Ronan, a horse man."

"Hello, Ronan." Maka also came forward and shook hands with him. "Nice to meet you."

He has always been interested in the horse man's prophecy talent, but it doesn't help him much. Because in any case, predictions are always vague and distorted by actual choices. So most predictions can only be used as a reference, at least Maka thinks so.

"Hello," said Ronan. "Are you students? Have you learned much in school?"

"Knowledge is always inexhaustible," Maka said. "Systematic teaching can enlighten students."

"It's very helpful to explore the unknown." Ronan nodded.

At this point, he looked up and stared at the sky above the open space. "Mars is very bright tonight."

"Yes," said Hagrid, looking up at the sky, "listen to me, Ronan, I'm glad we met you, because a unicorn was hurt - did you see anything?"

Ronan stared up without blinking. After a while, he sighed.

"It's always the innocent who suffer first," he said. "It's been like this for hundreds of years, and it's still like this now."

"Yes," said Hagrid, "but did you see anything, Ronan? Anything unusual?"

"Mars is very bright tonight... Very bright."

Horse people's words are always so vague and uncertain. It's easy to worry to chat with them.

"Yes, but I mean, is there anything unusual near our house." Hagrid was obviously a little impatient. "Didn't you notice some strange news?"

"I think Ronan wants to say that Mars is in the opposite position, and the brightness is very high. Something worse should happen," Maka explained. "For example, riots, betrayal, oppression, fraud, or simply war."

Ronan couldn't help looking at Marca, as did Hermione and Harry, but Marca shrugged.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm from the book," he said. "To tell you the truth, I'm not good at astronomy and divination. I just recited them."
