Chapter 33

Chapter 33

(TLN: Alright, here’s the real chapter 33. The author’s anti-chapter random short stories will be posted as extras.)

At noon, a certain hidden area within the Magical Beast Forest.

A giant black wolf around two-meters in height entered the tall bushes. After several sounds of rustling and screams, the black wolf came out with a female human in its mouth. The girl was very pretty in appearance and was about sixteen or seventeen in age. The only problem was that blood was flowing out of her body, and she was obviously dead.

Of course, the black wolf had also received serious injuries as the blood on its hind legs continued to flow unceasingly.

“Howl—” The black wolf dropped the girl and called the rest of the wolves, which were wandering around aimlessly. In less than a few seconds, more and more black wolves emerged from the bushes. They roamed around but did not immediately rush in.

There were more than a dozen people in the bushes, including a lot of men, a few women, and plenty of wounded. They left the bushes to surrounded the wounded while raising their guards. These people held a variety of weapons and had different occupations.

However, their clothes all shared some similarities. The women wore light blue uniforms and had a badge on their chests. The men had similar uniforms, but their uniforms were dark blue. Furthermore, their hairstyles and skin color varied as they were a huge group of diverse people.

On the other hand, there were quite a few beautiful people among them.

A long-haired youngster with a handsome appearance stood in front of everyone. With a calm expression, he commanded the group in a tone that was neither urgent or slow, “Don’t be afraid, we have already called the teachers for help. I believe that it won’t be long before the teachers arrive.”

“Ca—captain.” A short-haired teenager hugged his legs and trembled in fear. “There are hundreds of wind wolves outside, but we are only fifth-level fighters. Even if we all rush in together, we will still die. Unfortunately, we cannot live anymore.” He gulped and didn’t dare to look up because he understood that he would receive the look of disdain. He was not qualified to be a student of the Holy Spirit Magic School.

While the other survivors had also seen people die violent deaths, they still faced forward while his body became soft. In addition, he couldn’t utilize anything that he studied at the school to help.

The handsome captain’s gaze swept across the men and women who were shaking on the ground along with the wounded. Revealing a trace of disgust, he flashed a comforting smile. “Don’t worry, the wind wolves are formidable, but we are not easy to push around. As long as we work hard enough, then we can succeed. Please ease your worries; there should be no issues.”

The students were encouraged by him as they slightly recovered their morale.

The handsome captain continued to glance at the teenagers who were trying to face the terrifying enemies by guarding the group. The captain whispered a few words to several of these individuals, causing them to frown yet remain silent. These individuals each moved to the students nearest to them and passed on the message in whispers.

Among the students, a beautiful girl was silently holding a sleeping girl, letting her lie on her lap without participating in the discussion.

A girl with a ponytail suddenly rushed to a girl’s side with an anxious expression and whispered in her ear. When the beautiful girl heard her message, the beautiful girl could not help but turn pale as she gripped the hand of the injured girl even tighter.

She gently raised her head with eyes filled with tears and glared at the pretty girl in front of her. She asked in a low voice, “Daliana, are…are you going to follow them?”

The girl with a ponytail, Daliana, shook her head and suddenly embraced the other girl. She closed her eyes and replied softly next to her ear, “No matter what, I will not leave you two, even in the face of death.”

The beautiful girl’s eyes were red, her lips tightly pursed, and both of them hugged each other as they came to a tacit agreement. They didn’t touch the sleeping girl with an ash-grey ponytail girl. Even so, the sleeping girl was roused by their voices.

The girl opened her blue eyes and looked at them for a long time. After a while, she opened her mouth and asked, “Daliana, what happened?” The two girls paused and then released each other. One of the girls held her hand and replied, “Katis, how come you woke up so suddenly? Be obedient and rest a little longer.”

The girl named Katis shook her head as her blue eyes surveyed the area. She noticed the heavy atmosphere surrounding her team members and spoke with a hint of frustration, “We have lost so many team members!”

Daliana smiled as she clasped her hands around Katis’s. She consoled, “It’s okay, we have informed the teachers, so they should be back soon!”

“Yeah.” The other girl nodded as she spoke in a soft tone, “Katis, be obedient and go back to sleep. When you wake up again, everyone will be safe.”

Katis looked at them with suspicion. “But, I heard you were talking about leaving. What happened?”

The two girls exchanged looks and lowered their heads. They continued to smile. “After the teachers come to rescue us, we can leave. It’s going to be alright.”

Katis quietly pondered for a while, suddenly she lifted her gaze and inspected the beautiful girl. She puffed her cheeks discontentedly. “So Bonnie had also begun to learn how to lie.”

“It’s because Katis is very good at deceiving others!” The girl gently caressed her face. Daliana watched the duo and then slowly stood up with a calm and collected expression. She quickly moved toward the direction of the handsome and young captain.

…………

Long Shiyan was woken up by Zi Linglong. When she woke up, she felt that her body was lacking strength. Sweeping her gaze at a certain someone who was filled with smiles, she had no choice but to helplessly sigh.

The jungle was quiet in the morning, and the air was cool. Only a couple of insects beneath them were chirping. After Long Shiyan had finished tidying up, she nibbled on a large round pastry as they disappeared into the deep depths of the jungle.

Around noon, the sound of an explosion suddenly echoed in the air as several people in Long Shiyan’s group changed their expressions. They quickly climbed up to the top of the tree and noticed a familiar signal bomb shooting across the sky.

“How could this be possible?!” The red-haired teenager Brands whispered, “Shouldn’t the school’s exams have begun half a month later? Why did a student suddenly fire a signal flare in the Magical Beast Forest?” He turned his attention to the others.

The ox-headed man carried his big sword in one hand and spoke without hesitation, “This God will not answer your immature question.”

The straw hat boy, Edgar, equipped the dagger from his waist and looked forward. He replied, “Maybe there were other students who were practicing in the Magical Beast Forest. They may have come across danger, so they tried to summon for help with a signal bullet. If they were lucky, then the nearby upperclassmen would go help them and they would narrowly escape from death. In any case, we should go and check on them,” Long Shiyan said as she turned toward his direction.

Long Shiyan swept a glance at him and said, “Are you just going to stand there and simply watch? It is time to act like a hero who saves beauties or a hero who saves many others; we have to hurry there without delay.” She closed her eyes and recited a chant under her breath. Suddenly, a cool breeze swept away everyone’s exhaustion, allowing their bodies to feel refreshed and move more easily.

This was the boost of the wind magic “Gale Movement.” After using this magic, one could increase the speed of one’s teammates by several folds as this magic covers their bodies. It could be said that this was the best support magic for teams to flee.

They hastened their steps and flew forward.

After approximately half an hour, Long Shiyan stopped in her tracks. There were several wind wolves flying at a high speed, rushing toward their group.

“So we just had to run across a pack of fifth-level wind wolves! Who would’ve known that we would have such bad luck?!” Zi Linglong observed as a wind wolf rapidly dashed toward her. She withdrew her sword and then sighed softly.

“The subordinates average around the fifth level while the leader is a sixth or seventh level wind wolf. This is indeed an unlucky situation.” Edgar moved to the side, avoiding the incoming attacks of the wind wolves. Using his sword, he landed fatal blows upon the wolves. Long Shiyan’s other team members likewise finished off their opponents.

“Howl—”

“Howl—”

After Long Shiyan and others defeated their opponents, the wind wolves suddenly began to riot. The wolf howled toward each other, one after another, as the terrifying sounds were endless. But after a while, a majority of the wind wolves started to retreat.

“Retreating?” Brands was a little surprised. He wanted to release his powerful magic, but he did not expect that wind wolves would automatically flee from them. This was unbelievable. What was the true reason for this?

“Magical beasts that have high levels will have a high IQ. When they perceive that they have run into an opponent that can’t be easily trifled with, they will automatically avoid the opponent. There is nothing to be surprised about,” Long Shiyan said without hesitation. “Everyone, hurry up.” After she said that, she dashed through the jungle in front of them.

On the other side of the jungle, several seriously injured men and women were on the ground while there were several wind wolves on the opposing side. There was only one person who could still be considered intact. She was the one with a ponytail; she held a large sword as she tried to protect the girl behind her. When she saw Long Shiyan and others arriving, her eyes became red, and so many emotions swept through her that she didn’t know what to do.

“Daliana!” Zi Linglong suddenly cried out as she hurriedly ran over to catch her tottering body. “It’s not important; I’m not that wounded.”

“Edgar!” Long Shiyan looked at the heavily wounded. She couldn’t help but flash a glance at the straw hat teenager before walking to the side of several injured people. She kneeled beside a beautiful girl. Several of the injured beside the girl had noticed Long Shiyan’s presence as their eyes were brimming with tears of relief. They constantly called out to the head of the group. Then, they began to put their hands together in a praying gesture to thank the Radiant God for saving their souls.

“Understood!” The three big men quickly agreed to Long Shiyan’s orders as two stood guard around them. Only Edgar sent out his bright white eagle pet to treat the injured.

“Host, they are fine. The two of them simply suffered too much blood loss. You should simply allow them to rest.” System Qian Qian moved to Long Shiyan’s side as Long Shiyan nodded in response. She stepped aside, allowing Edgar’s pet to treat the wounded.

Zi Linglong led the sole uninjured student to sit on a stone as she also sat down next to her. She whispered in a consoling tone, “It’s okay, we are here. Nothing bad will happen. Katis and Bonnie will be fine.”

The girl bit her lip and nodded. She watched as Long Shiyan walked over to her. She wiped her tears and faced forward toward Long Shiyan. “Head of the Group, thank…thank you! Is there anything wrong with Katis and Bonnie?” ”

“No!” Long Shiyan patted the girl’s shoulders and smiled. “They are all fine; there won’t be any dangers to their lives, so rest assured!”

The girl’s anxious mind finally relaxed. Looking at her teammates being covered in a curtain of light, she couldn’t help but reveal a smile. She said softly, “Katis has always told us that those who are to be saved, will be saved. I didn’t expect for rescue to arrive; I really want to thank you.”

Zi Linglong patted her head and did not say much. Long Shiyan looked around and couldn’t help but frown. She asked in a low voice, “Daliana, are you guys the only members of the Alchemy Research Society left?”

Daliana stared blankly for a second before she subconsciously gazed toward the distant depths of the forest. She lowered her head without replying.
