End of The World? Time to Level Up!
Chapter 3
The sun rose in the distance, illuminating the dark city that resembled a pool of shadows at night.
A groan was heard as the sleepy teen opened his eyes, slowly blinking in the process of getting his eyes adjusted to the sudden light intensity. With a yawn Sebastian stood up and stretched his body, preparing for another treacherous day of survival in this new era of madness.
It had been a week since the outbreak of zombies; so every day Sebastian went down the roof top and killed zombies while looking for supplies, such as food and water bottles.
Feeling his body being nice and loose he opened his inventory and took out one can of beans and a bottle of water. Not even a second later it appeared in his hands. That's when he realized something; he doesn't have a can opener... He's been eating fresh fruits that he has collected on his supply runs but finished the last fresh apple the day before.
Sebastian: Ah dammit.
He grumbled and tried to open it with his strength but realized that he didn't want to completely destroy it. That's when an idea popped up; he quickly took out the last kitchen knife and pressed it in the lid. Amazingly it worked and the teen had a healthy portion of beans for breakfast and some fresh water. He released a content sigh and opened his stat page.
Sebastian: I need to improve these stats... I can't keep getting damaged and dish out weak attacks.

Sebastian feeling satisfied with his stats, noticed there was a red exclamation mark next to the inventory option, so he opened it.
System: User has achieved level 5! Meaning that the player now has the option to go to the Shop.
Next to the inventory option there appeared a new link, called "Shop".
Sebastian: Wow, time to do some shopping.
He opened up the shop and saw that it had 5 departments.

Sebastian immediately went to the weapons list and there were thousands of weapons available, but they were quite expensive. He quickly scrolled down and his eyes were caught on something.
Throwing Knives X3:$100[ATK : 15 each]
Thinking that he needed a range weapon he bought 9 throwing knives and it appeared into his inventory. Not stopping there he wanted to buy another thing but was suddenly interrupted by a red clock in front of him.
System: User can only buy 1 weapon per day !!!
The clock countdown was at that moment 23hr and 40min.
Sebastian sighed and departed the weapons department and entered the armor one. Seeing as it was the same here everything was way too expensive. He scrolled down to where the cheap items were. The teen stopped at an item that consisted of a steel chest plate.
Steel Chest Plate X1:$300[DEF : 30]
He purchased it and equipped it immediately. It fitted snugly on his chest.
Seeing as he was loosing money quickly he wanted to buy one more thing and that was a skill.
Entering the skill section he saw some broken skills, summon flame giant, elemental mastery and those were the first two on the list, but Sebastian eyes widened immediately when he saw the price... $100000 each?!?!?!?
The teen immediately moved down the list to look for a skill that won't make him poorer than dirt. The items at the bottom of the list were much cheaper so he was planning on buying 2 skills now.
After buying the 2 he had $400 less. The two skills which he bought was [Hawk sight] which Greatly improves his eye sight and [Mana Control] as in all fantasy games mana was used for casting spells and skills ! He left the skill section and just out of curiosity he saw what was in the potion section and to his surprise he saw that there were health potions available! Not wanting to die anytime soon he purchased 2 potions as the system said only 2 available at his current level, but ultimately draining $2000 out of him.
Feeling satisfied with his items he left the shop and went to his inventory, equipped the throwing knives and saw that the knives appeared in 3 straps around his upper right thigh.
Sebastian took one out and threw it at the empty can of beans from earlier. He missed miserably and almost hit himself in the process, but then saw a pop up appear in front of him.
System: Due to doing a certain action user has been awarded with a skill.
Sebastian smiled as this was his plan from the beginning, knowing that the system would give him the skill if he threw the knife, so without a thought he opened up the stat page.

Sebastian grinned with glee and added 4 skill points in knife throwing and 2 in hawk vision, but with knife throwing it was at its maximum level. There wasn't a pop up though like sneak when he maxed it out.
Sebastian: I guess only certain skills can give a perk if raised to the maximum.
Wanting to test out his knife throwing skills, he took out 6 and they were placed in between his fingers, his muscles reacted immediately and he threw all six of them; no trace of them visible to the naked eye during their flight until a loud clang was heard.
It showed the entire can was obliterated and the 6 knives were behind it sticking out of the wall and cracks appeared around them.
Sebastian: Uhh maybe I added a bit too much in my strength, he chuckled to himself.
He stopped chuckling when he heard a commotion close by and turned around only to see a giant shadow fly over him. The shadow was a giant Crow, black as the moonless sky. It was as big as a bus and its wing span almost blew apart the buildings it flew in between.
It had menacing reds eyes but that wasn't the only difference, it had a third eye and all three were looking in different directions like a chameleon. In its talons were some poor soul that was trying to escape but that didn't bother the giant crow at all.
Suddenly a giant fire ball appeared and hit the crow in the stomach resulting in it going against a building and falling to the ground.
Main guy: All right everyone that fireball knocked it on its ass, lets all charge now!!!
The rest of the crowd roared with agreement and charged the beast but when they arrived at the beast it quickly stood back up and pressed its foot down squashing the man that was in its talons; spraying blood everywhere. This stopped everyone in there tracks. Sebastian guessed that they knew the guy who just met a gruesome death.
The main leader screamed in fury and charged forward only to get bit in half by the crow, the bottom part of his body dropped off from the beak .Everyone was purely terrified and started to scream and run away. The crow lifted its wings and with a quick movement brought it down and launched its vicious feathers that impaled people left right and center.
The group that consisted of 5 people were all killed and only 1 person stood standing. It was a young girl, who appeared to be 14 years old and had a bow in her hands. She was petrified and fell on her behind shaking with fear, the crow looked as if it was enjoying it self, you could tell by the glint in its eyes and it opening its beak, revealing the remaining body parts of her leader, blood dripping from it.
???:SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME I DON'T WANT TO DIE! She broke down sobbing.
Just as the crow was going to bite down on her it received 2 throwing knives, right in its one wing making it screech in pain and thrash around.
The girl looked through her tears and witnessed a man standing in front of her.
Sebastian: Sheesh this is a drag, guess chivalry isn't dead
He took out his sword with one hand and put 2 throwing knifes in his other.
Sebastian: System max out swordsman.
Sebastian suddenly felt a rush of knowledge inside his mind as it was filled with techniques on how to use a sword.
The crow looked at Sebastian with rage and it roared causing a Red name to appear above its head.
[Ghurab The Flying Night, level 20, HP:300]
Sebastian: Shit he said then quickly grabbed the girl and jumped to the left, narrowly dodging a barrage of sharp feathers.
He put the girl on the side walk and quickly threw the 2 knives at Ghurab and it hit it for 30 damage. Ghurab flapped its wings and the gust knocked Sebastian in a nearby building for 15 damage. He gasped in pain as it felt like the wind was knocked out of him. The pain had to wait as he quickly had to role out the way as a giant beak tried to stab him to death.
Sebastian looked around for an exit but then his eyes fell on something and they glinted with glee.
Ghurab suddenly felt pain in one of its feet as it showed Sebastian in a slicing position, blood covered his blade. Sebastian quickly put the sword back in its sheath and dodged a chomp from the big bird, then quickly took out another 4 throwing knives and put all his strength in them and blasted them towards the bird resulting in 60 damage. The attack made it stagger backwards as the knives hit separate areas of the beast, one in the chest, one in its middle eye,and 2 in its thighs.
The beast quickly sent 3 feathers out and Sebastian dodged 2 of them but one managed to cut into his arm deeply for 25 damage, immobilizing it for the moment.
Sebastian cussed and quickly hid behind a wall as another barrage of feathers came right for him. Ghurab was pissed off at Sebastian and walked forward. The teen quickly jumped out of his hiding place and threw something at the bird.
Ghurab stopped and looked at what it was. It was a small red container; Ghurab looked up at Sebastian and saw he had one throwing knife in his hand, except it had a maroon hue to it and it shook.
Sebastian: Boom.
He threw the knife which he had infused with his mana towards the container. When the two connected, a giant explosion was made as a sea of fire consumed Ghurab.

Sebastian was just about to celebrate but saw out of the fire an almost charred Ghurab had its beak open and a small purple ball was in the beak. It suddenly moved its head forward and a massive beam of energy appeared and hit Sebastian taking out 4 buildings behind the teen in the process.
When the dust settled it showed a giant crevasse leading to outside the city.
Ghurab was about to leave when it saw a pile of rumble moving. A battered and bruised Sebastian stood up, his arm guards and hoodie were completely burnt, accompanied by some burn marks on his body.
Sebastian: Where do you think your'e going you big chicken shit he said in a horse and gravely voice.

The crow screeched and was running towards the beaten teen when suddenly a glowing arrow hit its chest causing it to stagger to the right. When Sebastian looked at where the arrow came from it was the girl he saved earlier and she was still shaking.
???:HEY ARE YOU ALRIGHT MISTER!? she shouted from afar.
Sebastian: Peachy, he shouted back.
The only way Sebastian survived that attack was by equipping two thick tower shields he got from zombie drops earlier, but the shields were consumed in the flames of the attack and completely melted away in the process
Sebastian: System take remaining points and put them into power shot and mana control. I'll take you out in one hit you bastard.
His sword glowed with a bright maroon hue and suddenly an orange spiral pattern appeared around the left side of his face, the pattern looked like flames.
System: USER HAS 5% HP REMAINING DUE TO STRENGTH BEING HIGH. RECEIVED THE PERK BURNING WILL.
System: DUE TO USER MAXING OUT TWO SKILLS AT SAME TIME A NEW SKILL HAS BEEN CREATED.
Sebastian felt power coarse through him and that's when Ghurab recovered from the arrow and charged towards the teen. Sebastian clenched the sword hard in his right hand and just as Ghurab lunged at him he swung downwards and felt mana flowing out to his sword and a phrase came out of his mouth.
Sebastian: MONDSCHNITT STREIK!!![moon cutting strike]
A sudden flash of light blinded the girl and then suddenly a massive explosion followed suit and the girl was blown back from the shock wave.
When she recovered she saw that there was a giant slash mark going for miles and cut buildings layed broken in its way. She quickly looked down at the man when she saw that Ghurab had been cleaved into 2 and was starting to dissolve, Sebastian stood there; his right arm charred black and the sword he was holding was nothing but ash in his hands.
Sebastian: Hehe got you, you bird bastard.
He saw multiple pop ups in front of him but passed out due to the pain and fatigue but right before he passed out he saw a silhouette running towards him...
