Descent of the Demon God

Chapter 48

40th floor of the Six Road Toy Company building.

This floor was the top floor of the building, and the president’s office and private area. Just like the 36th floor of the Director’s office, it was decorated with lavish interior designs. On the president’s desk, someone was answering the internal phone call. The man was bald and dark-skinned, looking to be in his 50s. He was Yum Gisub, the president of Six Road Toy. Just like Yun Munpyung, he was sent from the Blade Six Headquarters, and a Superior master stage martial artist. His enlarged upper torso and thick arms showed that he was trained in a special type of martial art that comprised was comprised of special muscular training.

“What? There’s an emergency order coming directly from headquarters?”

-…You should come down to see it, sir.

“I am on my way.”

-I’ll see you in my office.

Yun Munpyung hung up the phone on the other side and Yum Gisub’s face grimaced in anger.

“Ugh… this bastard. He acts like he’s got everything after he was told he will be brought back to headquarters in two months.”

Yum Gisub disliked Yun Munpyung because of the distinct arrogant nature of the man already. Yum Gisub became even more furious as Yun Munpyung hung up on him, even when Yum Gisub was still his direct supervisor. Yum Gisub slammed the desk and mumbled, “DAMMIT! Am I a president? And why does HE have the safe, not me? What the hell is HQ thinking?”

The safe that contains the printer for receiving orders was usually stored with the leader of the remote offices. But in a few cases, it was rather installed on its officer’s office than the actual leader. This kind of action made Yum Gisub feel like if he was just a dummy then the actual president of the company.

“…I guess they don’t trust anyone from their main company.”

Yum Gisub shook his head. He was actually from the smaller company, Esix Toy before he moved over to the Six Road Toy. His old clan name within the Yulin was called the Sun King Fist Clan. The reason why he was now at Blade Six was because his company was bought out by Blade Six.

“…I am just a dummy for the press.”

On the surface, Blade Six was a friendly company that was very popular. To maintain this position, the company had done multiple tasks to look hospitable on the outside. Hiring the president of the company they bought out as their new company’s president also consisted of such an action.

“Ugh.”

But there was nothing he could do. He had to follow the order of the main company. The only hope he now had was to have the safe move over to his own office when Yun Munpyung was called back to headquarters.

Yum Gisub walked out of the president’s room and all secretaries outside his office rose up immediately.

“It’s alright. Stay in your seat.”

“If you are moving, we will go with you, sir.”

If the president were to move, a team of secretaries had to follow. Yum Gisub shook his hands annoyingly and spoke.

“Director Yun has some important matters to discuss. I’ll be back soon, so don’t worry.”

“Oh…”

The secretaries all nodded. They very well knew how the company was being run. The rumor of the company said that it was actually Yun Munpyung who was running the whole company.

‘Damn!’

Yum Gisub became more annoyed when even his secretaries were acting as if Yun Munpyung was ranked higher. Yum Gisub was now officially a dummy in his own company.

He moved out of the secretary room and pressed on the elevator button. The president’s private elevator stationed on the 36th floor immediately moved over to the 40th floor. This too was also shared with Director Yun Munpyung.

‘Bastard. If I catch you with any mistakes at all…’

He hoped Yun Munpyung would make a mistake so that Yum Gisub could pick on it to bring him down. He was stronger in martial art stage also, so he was certain that he can outpower Yun Munpyung if given the chance.

As he mumbled, the elevator arrived on the 36th floor. As he walked past the corridor and arrived at the front of the secretary office, there were two familiar men waiting there.

“Sir.”

The man with a coat immediately took off his sunglasses and bowed. The man with a spot on his eye also bowed.

‘Why are they here?’

Yum Gisub didn’t feel good seeing them here. He knew these men very well. He wasn’t sure of the younger man’s name, but the large man with the grey coat was the team leader, Hojung. It was the covert ops team that took missions sent directly from headquarters.

‘I told him to have them stay away from the company building because there are eyes here… he just doesn’t listen.’

These people weren’t the company’s employees. It was very dangerous to call these men into the building as such with the nature of their job requiring them to stay in the shadows.

“Hojung. It’s been a long time.”
