Descent of the Demon God

Chapter 18

He was dumbfounded. Chun Yeowun wasn’t acting like a criminal trapped inside the interrogation room. Hou Ilgyung shook while pressing his fist against the window. He then thought of something strange.

‘Huh? Did I press the microphone button just now?’

He didn’t realize because he was so angry back then. He didn’t think he pressed the button when he spat out just moments ago. He then asked Chief Song Wigang, “…Did I just press the microphone button?”

“Huh??”

It was easy to know that he didn’t just by looking at how Song Wigang reacted. When Jo Sejong screamed in pain of his broken arm, Hou Ilgyung had taken his hand off the button.

‘H… he can hear!’

The interrogation room was supposedly soundproof so that no sound could be heard from the other room. But Chun Yeowun seemed to be able to listen through the sound. Hou Ilgyung then glared through the window with his shaking eyes.

“Y…you… what are you?”

Chun Yeowun then answered the question grumpily.

-I have no need to tell you that. Don’t annoy me any further while I’m here. This is my final warning.

“HAH!”

Hou Ilgyung became dumbfounded. Chun Yeowun was talking as if he was going to walk out of that room on his own soon enough, even if Hou Ilgyung had no intention of letting Chun Yeowun walk out of there in the first place. Hou Ilgyung’s body shook with rage, and asked Chief Song Wigang, “The 4th and 5th are interrogation rooms for superhumans, right?”

“Y-yes, sir. He’s a Yulinian so we put him here…”

“Good.”

He asked to confirm everything. The room Chun Yeowun was in was specially made for those with special powers. There were a lot of Yulinians or people with special powers that did not cooperate because of their personal powers. That’s why the rooms were created with special metals and special windows. The window itself was made so it could resist 15 minutes of constant rifle shooting.

Hou Ilgyung popped open a safety glass next to the microphone. There were two buttons. The green one on the left was a sedative gas, and the red one on the right was for unleashing powerful tear gas. It was a suppressor for criminals with heavy resistance.

“Hmm…”

Hou Ilgyung took a deep breath and looked over to the window and spoke. If Chun Yeowun could hear, then there was no need to press the microphone button.

“I don’t care what background you might have.”

“…”

“I’ve been working as a PSB agent for 24 years. I have seen hundreds of one like you, not caring about anything because of your own arrogance.”

He was talking calmly, but his voice was shaking from rage. His finger went over to the red button. Song Wigang became shocked and hastily spoke to Hou Ilgyung.

“V-Vice Director! Doctor Jo is still in that room!”

“Stay still!”

Hou Ilgyung made Song Wigang stand back by flashing his palm to him and glared at Chun Yeowun to continue.

“Did you say not to annoy you until you get out of here?! You crazy bastard. I promise you as the Vice Director of PSB, you will not walk out of that room. If you do, I will arrest you as a special criminal, and you will not even hear a trial and be sentenced to tens of…”

-BAMMMM-

It was then that Chun Yeowun slammed his palm on the special glass. It was just his palm, but the glass shook as if it had been slammed with a large fist. But there was no damage. Vice Director flinched, but he quickly noticed that the window was not damaged and gave a smirk.

“Hah! You think this is just some regular window? It will not break to a mere…”

-CRACK-

‘?!’

Before he could finish, the window began to crack from where Chun Yeowun’s palm was placed. It wasn’t like he slammed the window again either.

The window began to shake itself with Chun Yeowun’s palm at the center. The shaking began to grow more violent.

‘D-dammit!!’

Hou Ilgyung became frantic and tried to press the red button. It was then—

-CRASH!!!-

“Aaargh!”

“Kyaaaah!”

The window shattered and turned into powder, and the observation room was now open. Hou Ilgyung, Song Wigang, and the two detectives were thrown to the wall from the force.

“Ugh…!”

“Unnngh…”

It was fortunate that the window particles turned into powder, or else it would have penetrated into their bodies. They became shocked and they were in pain from being slammed into the wall.

That’s when Hou Ilgyung heard a footstep. He was not in the right mind, but he felt something was dangerous and tried to take out a handgun from his pocket when he was pulled up into the air.

“UGH!”

-BAM!

“NNGH!”

He was then thrown onto the wall and pinned against the wall with his arms and legs stretched out. Unknown power was pushing him up against the wall and he couldn’t move.

“Vice Director!”

One of the detectives took out a gun, and the female detective also got up quickly and took out a gun.

-Ssshhh

“Huh?!”

“M-my gun!”

But two of their guns were immediately pulled out of their hand and tossed away. It flew over to Chun Yeowun who was now standing inside the observation room. He grabbed both guns in his hand and clenched.

-Crrrack!

Two guns immediately shattered as if they were made out of frail plastic pieces. All that dropped were pieces of metal.

‘H..how can that be…’

Song Wigang couldn’t even get up and just saw what was happening. The male detective then charged toward Chun Yeowun, but Yeowun waved his hand and threw the man against the wall. He slammed so hard that he fainted.

‘W…what the hell is happening?’

Hou Ilgyung became afraid. He had seen many Yulinians in the past, but this man was not like any of them Chun Yeowun walked up to him and spoke in a low voice.

“I warned you.”

It was Hou Ilgyung who did not listen to the warning. Chun Yeowun then grabbed his own chin and spoke with a grin.

“Hostage… yeah. You should make a fine hostage.”
