Descent of the Demon God

Chapter 11

Just until five minutes ago…

[You should surrender yourself to the PSB for now.]

‘??’

It almost made Chun Yeowun rage violently. Ever since the day of the Demonic Academy, becoming the Lord, and until he earned the title of the Demon God, the most legendary title of all time, he had never even considered the word ‘surrender’ in his life, even if it was just for a show.

‘You want me to surrender?’

If he wanted, Chun Yeowun could have killed all the Tactical Force units, including the snipers in a matter of seconds. He just hadn’t grasped the current era and its world yet, so he was just being careful as to not draw the attention of that ‘media’ thing that Jo Yusung warned him about.

[…And you call that help?]

[Please don’t misunderstand. I may have chosen an inappropriate word. I am not asking you to surrender for good.]

[What is your point?]

[The PSB represents the Chinese Government. The government cannot let an unregistered Yulinian walking down the streets and will try to keep an eye on you.]

Yeowun then remembered the man that he was grabbing by the neck said something about ‘unregistered Yulinian.’ This meant that Yulin was now being controlled by the government in this era.

‘Ah…’

Chun Yeowun then remembered what his descendant – Chun Musung had said to him in the past. Chun Musung also said that the nonaggression pact between the government and Yulin disappeared in his future. He never imagined he’d be trapped in such a future so he didn’t think much about it until now.

‘Being controlled by the government… can only mean that Yulin degraded over time.’

That was the only reasonable explanation he could think of. Until now, he had only found two traces of Yulin in this era. But of course, that wasn’t enough to make an assumption yet.

[As I looked up from above, I was able to tell that you are not registered with your identity. Is that true?]

Of course, Chun Yeowun was not from this time, so there was no way he was registered with the government. Chun Yeowun nodded to show that it was true.

‘I knew it!’

Jo Yusung had binoculars in his hand. With this, he was able to peek into the tablet that Sopyung, the lieutenant of Tactical Forces, was searching through database to determine Yeowun’s identity.

‘He’s the best one we could ever think of!’

If the man could not be found, then he was definitely an unregistered Yulinian. With such power, his face or name should have been known, but Jo Yusung had never heard of or recognized his face.

‘Maybe he’s a hidden master.’

They were in modern times, but the land was vast and there were still many Yulinians who shied away from civilizations and their identities. Jo Yusung thought Chun Yeowun to be such an individual.

[Shall we just say, cooperation with the PSB while you wait?]

[…You want me to avoid fighting them further?]

[Yes, that is correct. If you keep on going hostile against them under this situation, the problem will only grow worse. That is why I am asking you to pretend you are cooperating with the PSB. I will need time for us to make preparations for you.]

[Hmph.]

Jo Yusung was talking about preparing something for the identity. Its usefulness was uncertain, but the only choice Yeowun could make on his own was to either use violence or hide.

[How long you want me to wait?]

Yeowun looked suspicious as he asked, and Jo Yusung responded.

[I will take care of it within 24 hours.]

‘Hmm…’

Chun Yeowun gave some thought to it. It seemed like that was too long. Unsatisfied, he said,

[That’s too long.]

[Pardon?]

Jo Yusung became frustrated that he couldn’t hide it. It was already late afternoon, so it was going to take quite some time in order to start taking care of the identity issue and solve other problems. He also had to get approval from his superior regarding the issue.

‘There’s not much time.’

He needed some slack in the time frame if he were to take care of everything. But the way Chun Yeowun reacting showed that he wasn’t impressed, nor did he like the idea of waiting for 24 hours.

‘He’s hard to deal with since he is powerful.’

But even then, he had to show this man how powerful his organization was. Jo Yusung quickly sent another telepathic message.

[Understood, sir. I will take care of it within 12 hours. I will promise you it will be done on my honor.]

The time required was cut in half from the original 24 hours. This was the best he could do, considering all factors. Even then, he wasn’t sure if he really could really be able to keep the time he promised.

[Good.]

Chun Yeowun approved of the decreased time. Jo Yusung sighed in relief as he was worried that maybe Chun Yeowun was trying to change his mind. That’s when he heard a cold voice from Yeowun again.

[But. You should promise your arm, instead of your honor.]

[Pardon, sir?]

[If you take even a second longer, I will have your arm in return.]

It was terrifying warning. He was surprised by the warning, but he just considered it a reminder so he decided to try his best to hurry up. Jo Yusung answered casually.

[Understood. I promise.]

After barely finishing the negotiation with Chun Yeowun, Jo Yusung suggested a few more things for Yeowun to be careful about and quickly escaped the building. He had to get out of the radio disruption range that the PSB had activated so he can get in contact with his organization. Time was running out as soon as the discussion started for Jo Yusung.
