Chaos Divinity Tome

Chapter 34 - Chaos Soul Tome

The ceremony proceeded incredibly smoothly. All rituals were observed with pomp, followed by a grand festival for three days straight. Envoys were also deployed to the nearby clans to notify them that the young master was no longer on the market, having taken a wife. It was nothing surprising for a clan to organize a succession plan early with political marriages, but what surprised the other clan was two peculiar things, the envoys were very strong, almost comparable to these clans' strongest warriors, and the marriage itself was internal, not an alliance. These two things suggested the Nyasanga clan was not on decline as previously scouted out. Such strong warriors, would they be humbly running errands like meek mice? It only meant the ones behind them were tigers whose roar could send them out. And which idiot said the Nyasanga clan was ripe for the picking, he was clearly deluded and should be hanged! The best scouts? They've clearly gotten complacent give them a round of canings for now! Disaster thus befell a multitude of scouts in a short span. Furthermore, when they headed out to the mountains to clear their reputations, they encountered a strange fog and could only get lost in it. It was fine if it was just them but they even bumped into other scout from other clans inside the fog. They really cut sorry figures as they gathered on the edge of the fog again after numerous failed attempts. They had never seen such powerful witchcraft and were at a loss how to proceed. This fog was too sinister. They clearly knew the location of the Han clan, after all they had scouted it numerous times. But every time they would somehow stray into the den of a ferocious wild beast. Once or twice would still be called a coincidence but every single time? Once they gathered together and compared notes it turned out to be no fluke. This fog was really trying to kill them! Furthermore, they had caught glimpses of returning envoys walking into the fog like it was nonexistent. They tried to follow them but still mysteriously lost sight and track of them deeper in the fog only to end up nearly becoming lunch yet again to some beast. They couldn't return with nothing, they would surely be hanged if they went back and said they couldn't even find a whiff of such a large clan, the only one living on the mountain. They brainstormed the matter for several days before agreeing to report the same thing to all their clans. The Nyasanga clan not only has strong envoys but a legend shaman as well. The clan has a witchcraft boundary, any unwelcome guests will find themselves dinner for a mountain beast. Don't believe it, think am slacking, fine go and sneak in yourself! I can outrun them; you will just not return like me! This report sent shock waves through the neighboring clans. The surety and sorry figures the returning scouts cut could only indicate they really weren't lying. A boundary that can befuddle the best scouts and completely defeat them. And not just their scouts, even the other clans' scouts? Indeed, a legend shaman was the only conclusion! Had that old coot elder of theirs had a breakthrough? What was going on?

As the Nyasanga clan unknowingly had intimidated their neighbors, Meredith moved into her husband's cave and assumed the role of Young Lady. She had been strictly coached by the old women of the clan on how to behave to please her man, and was still beet red from some of the details. When she saw Philip take off his fur coat and walk into the spirit waters pool she almost exploded into a nosebleed. Philip however closed his eyes in meditation and went into a cultivation state, leaving Meredith to stand there awkwardly at the edge of the pool. It was only hours later when he opened his eyes, did she dare to speak. "How may I serve you, young master?" Philip could not help but chuckle at the shy little lady. He then took out a bone slip, touched it to his forehead and then tossed it to her casually. "no need to worry about heirs just yet, cultivate faithfully, my queen cannot be too weak after all." He then pondered a bit and added "Get the complete version of the [Mountain Body Incantation] from the elders, I would like you to dual cultivate both." He then closed his eyes and returned to cultivation, orbs of Qi gathering around him like fireflies. Meredith stood there for a long while before processing the hidden meanings. the young master didn't immediately want an heir but he hadn't written it off either. Also, dual cultivation had already been taught to them by the elders, and it was more of cons that pros. To make her do it anyways, what sort of intentions did he have? However, she did not dare question him about it, and could only sullenly walk out and head to Chief Saito's cave. When she arrived, she found him in meditation as well, but as if sensing her, he opened his eyes and stood up. "Paying respects to Chief, husband has asked me to see you about the complete [Mountain Body Incantation] in order to dual cultivate it with this personal technique he gave me." she went straight to the point with a bow. A sharp glint passed across Chief Saito's eyes at the sight of the bone slip in Meredith's hand. Another God Tier technique, and a personally prepared one as well! He immediately rushed up at a great speed, almost teleporting in front of Meredith, picked the bone slip from her hands and placed it on his forehead. Unexpectedly, instead of experiencing the technique within, a sharp pain shot through his head instead. He cried out in pain and immediately dropped it down. He stared at the slip on the floor for a while and then asked, "Girl, can you view the contents in this slip?". "Reporting to Chief, I can, it was clear in its instructions that it is a personal technique and cannot be shared." Meredith replied. Hearing this, Chief Saito could only sigh that it is a pity, if the clan could gain more God techniques the better. "What is the name of the technique?" he asked. "Reporting to Chief, the introduction called it [Chaos Soul Tome]!" came the reply.
