Chapter 25 - The True Leader

Ordinarily the kinds of renovation the Nyasanga clan had undertaken would take years to complete, but they were no ordinary clan. With the guidance of the actual God of crafting himself, everything was done quickly and efficiently, taking only a few months to get everything up and running. They had tamed all the useful mountain beasts around the mountain and used them to facilitate setting up the mines and herb gardens. Not just the Golden Bears they had also tamed the Three Horned Mountain Goats for milk and meat, as well as Mountain Fire Stallions for their steeds. Three horned Mountain Goats were incredibly difficult to tame ordinarily, and unlike ordinary goats they were extremely wild. They lived in the mountain cliffs and were expert climbers, jumping right up a steep mountain cliff in a few hops. This made them very difficult to catch let alone tame. However, the bone slip provided by Philip explained that although the Mountain Goats had no interest in grass, they loved spirit herbs. In fact, they lived on the mountain cliffs to eat these very herbs. After capturing them, one simply have to give a steady supply of spirit grass and they'd never run off. After all, they cliffs were much riskier than food falling on their l.a.p three times a day. With spirit grass in the collection of herbs being grown by the clan gathered from the mountain forest, a big pen of mountain goats was easily established. Fire Stallions were wild mountainside horses. They were a fiery red colour with rippling muscles and flames burning on their tail hairs. They ran in a herd and were amazingly fast steeds. Luckily with the [Mountain Body Incantation] even the weakest clan member was in the third stage of Qi condensation after a few months. This allowed them to ride such a high ranking steed that ordinary people would normally avoid without debate. With quality mounts, taking care of missions for the clan was super fast. Trips that usually took days now took hours. Like that even more time was shaved in transforming their new clan headquarters. This lead to the situation where a few months later the Leiss Continent caravan could not even recognise the place.

"Nyasanga Chief, this lowly one is Captain Jack Leiss, we are just passing through towards the ocean with Her Majesty Queen Leiss." Jack bowed back to Chief Saito and responded politely. "There is no rush, you are welcome to rest and resupply with us." he replied. "We don't dare..." Jack wanted to say but before he could, "I'll take you up on that offer Chief." Queen Leiss replied first. Jack was surprised but did not dare refute his Queen. "The stables are to the left, gather in the square afterwards so that we arrange some accommodation for you." Saito said with a swish of his tiger robe as he walked away like it was decided and not up for debate. Some other villagers immediately stepped forward to direct the Caravan. Queen Leiss could only stare at Chief Saito's back with a strange expression on her face. Royalty like here was usually addressed reverently yet this village chief was so casual to her. "Sigh. What an interesting little village. Do as they say." she could only shake her head in the end. Yet another shock was waiting for her at the stables when she saw the horses inside. Even her white stallion was intimidated and unsettled in the presence of the fire stallions. The stables were wide and well built using stone and wood. Plenty of hay was gathered and a few villagers tended to the horses there. These mere stable workers were strong enough to handle these tier two spirit beasts easily! Wasn't this clan a little too overpowered? Once they finished with the stables they gathered back at the square and this time Chief Saito was not waiting alone. All the Nyasanga Clan elders had gathered to welcome the guests and an intimidating aura radiated from each and every one of them. They were reigning in their aura and appeared to be gentle elderly men, but Jack had far too many years of battle experience and enough strength to not be fooled. One Chief Saito was already scary but twelve monsters of similar strength? He almost fainted from shock. Queen Leiss was also trembling in fear. She was considering whether she could defeat this chief by ganging up on him with Jack, gaining the strength of this little clan for herself, but now she saw she was ridiculously foolish to consider such a thing. With such a line-up of elders they would only need these twelve to completely conquer the whole of Leiss let alone defeat here little caravan. One had to know that a peak expert was not just grown on trees. They were frightening existences akin to an unstoppable trump card in any war. Numbers were completely useless against them and only a similar grade of expert could hold them down in a war. If she was held up, and her uncle Jack as well, the other ten would be free to annihilate her entire armada. This clan was a bigger threat than the Ironhands! Alarm bells were chiming in her mind once she thought up to here. Thankfully Jack was sensible and had not already offended this hidden behemoth. If they had arrived here heavy handed treating them like they did the Han clan previously they would really not have known how they had died. After introductions and small talk Queen Leiss and the soldiers were shown to a hall for a meal. It was a large hall that they walked into through one of the cave entrances. A few meters into the cave it suddenly expanded into an wide and spacious high domed hall. Lit torches were set into the walls and at the top was a large crystal that glowed to illuminate the whole room. Tables were set with a wide variety of dishes in front of them and at the back were a few more cave paths that led elsewhere. All the soldiers were in awe of the finishing and weren't even looking at the food. "Clink. Clink." the sound of a cutlery hitting a glass echoed through the hall and caught everyone's attention. A young eight year old boy gestured to everyone to have a seat. What surprised Queen Leiss was that these twelve old monsters immediately complied, and what's more, left the high table to this little youngster. That could only indicate one thing, this was the true leader of this clan!
