Chapter 34: We Meet Again

With a suave drift, Ye Daying stopped at the bottom of the hill and panted as he jumped to their side.

“Well done. You’ll be rewarded later!!” Huang Quan smiled and patted his shoulder.

“I didn’t do that!” Ye Daying turned around and looked at the unending wave of red-eyed steel beasts, whose roars resounded throughout the sky. He was dumbfounded.

“Heaven took pity on me. I only sprinkled a few crystals, but suddenly, the entire city erupted, and all the steel beasts chased after me.”

A steady stream of steel beasts rushed toward Yang City. Meanwhile, many Motorbots who were alone outside the city all rushed into the city.

Lin Qing was stunned as he watched this scene. “It can’t be. There must be hundreds of thousands of steel beasts. I’m afraid all the steel beasts in the nearby cities are here. What exactly did you do?”

After turning into his heavy truck form, Lin Qing sneaked into Yang City from the border and went straight to warehouse No. 82 on Shangyuan Road.

Clang! Jiang Yanjun kicked open the door of the warehouse as his arm turned into a gun barrel. Then he shot down the people inside who were holding Gatling guns.

The eight ordinary soldiers didn’t have time to react and were shot into a pulp in the blink of an eye. Jiang Yanjun then turned around and said calmly, “The corpses are here. Were you asking me where the thieves are?”

“S-S-S-S Jiang, they w-were our own people. How could you…” one of the Motorbots stammered as he watched this scene in horror.

But before he could finish his sentence, another Motorbot brandished a large mace and smashed his head.

“Captain, with so much destruction on the scene, it’s possible that more than five thousand crystals were lost. We’ve lost at least eight thousand crystals.”

Jiang Yanjun looked at the Motorbot, who was a head taller than the rest, with appreciation. “What’s your name?”

“My name is Xiong Ba!”

“Alright, you’ll be the platoon leader in the future.”

“I’ll go in and take a look. Stay on guard outside, and don’t let anyone in!”

“How about we make a deal?” Jiang Yanjun raised his hands. “Your target should be the crystals, right? You won’t be able to leave if I attract a large group of people here.”

“And then?”

“Take away two boxes of crystals, and I’ll pretend I didn’t see you. Everyone will mind their own business.”

He turned out to be a coward… Lin Qing smiled. “But you even brought people to kill me the day before yesterday, right?”

“Those were all orders from the higher-ups. I’m just an employee. How would I dare disobey them? If you want to look for Jiang Tianyun, go look for him. I won’t stop you.”

After thinking for a few seconds, Lin Qing looked at Huang Quan and said, “I’m giving you two minutes. Take as much as you can.”

Just as Jiang Yanjun had said, there were 50 people here, and they couldn’t kill all of them. As long as one of them ran away to report the matter, the entire army would arrive in no time.

After the Cataclysm, crystals were an important resource. So Jiang Tianyun would never allow anything to happen to the warehouse.

But since they were already here, it would be a waste for them to risk their lives and just take away two boxes of crystals. This was their only chance, so the more crystals, the better.

The warehouse was the size of a football field, with hundreds of boxes neatly stacked on top of each other. These boxes were labeled ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘3’, and ‘4’. These were the number of times the crystals in each box had evolved.

Huang Quan took out a large sack that he had prepared beforehand. He opened a box and poured the contents inside the sack.

Jiang Yanjun’s heart bled as he watched him take fourth-evolution crystals. “Goddammit. I’m not done with you… Leave some for me!”
