After Being Reborn, I Became Explosively Popular Across the Entire Internet

CH 9

The summer days in Nancheng1nánchéng were always hot and sultry.

By eight or nine o’clock in the morning, the bustling metropolis had already awakened from its slumber. Cars travelled back and forth on the roads, while small vendors in the alleys shouted enthusiastically. Brilliant sunlight streamed in through the half-drawn glass windows.

Inside the room, there was no air conditioning, only a rotating electric fan humming and blowing out hot air. The young man lying on the bed was dressed in a tank top and shorts. He lay on his side, slightly curled up, with his slender and delicate legs exposed to the air. His fair and glistening skin, even his long and thick eyelashes, were damp with sweat and trembling slightly.

The sun was too dazzling, and the air was too hot. The young man’s delicate brows and eyes were slightly frowned, and then he opened his eyelids. Those dark and clear eyes contained a trace of vicissitudes and pain that did not match his age, and then turned into daze and confusion.

Lin Qingyan sat up on the bed, absentmindedly pushing aside the damp and dishevelled bangs that hung over his forehead. He doubted whether he was dreaming or experiencing hallucinations. According to his understanding, he should be dead, having died in that unfamiliar small county town. How could he still be lingering in the summer of five years ago?

With these thoughts in mind, the young man lifted his hand and pinched his face forcefully, but he felt nothing.

Oh… he was indeed dreaming.

No, wait, he had forgotten one very important thing—he didn’t feel pain.

The sudden vibrating sound of a cell phone rang in the quiet room, pulling Lin Qingyan, who had fallen into deep thought and confusion, back to reality. The cell phone sitting on the bedside table was a bit worn out, which he had once bought in the second-hand market for two hundred dollars.

The caller ID showed Brother Li, formerly known as Li Heng, who was Lin Qingyan’s agent. After connecting the call, the familiar voice came through the phone line: “Xiao Lin, let’s meet at XX Café at 3 o’clock this afternoon to sign the contract. Make sure to come on time.”

Contract?

Lin Qingyan remained silent for two seconds before eventually nodding and saying, “Okay.” He heard his own voice, its early morning hoarseness tinged with a hint of youthfulness, resembling a teenager.

Li Heng didn’t say anything else, and the call ended quickly.

“How could this be…”

The teenager stared at the phone screen, murmuring incomprehensibly. As if he thought of something, his pupils trembled suddenly, and his fingers shook as he clicked on the phone calendar.

A line of eye-catching large characters appeared on the cracked screen: August 27, 2016.

He was only nineteen years old this year, and he was reborn five years ago. Five years ago on this day, he signed with Platinum Entertainment.

The afternoon sun was even brighter and warmer.

The café was air-conditioned and cool.

At this time, there weren’t many customers inside. The waitress sat at the counter, bored, propping her chin up with her hand and playing with her phone. That is, until the door was pushed open from the outside and a customer entered.

The waitress, a young girl, immediately put down her phone and fixed her gaze on the customer, unable to look away. It was a young man, around twenty years old. The afternoon sun streamed in, and the young man stood at the door with a smile on his face.

He wore a simple white crew-neck T-shirt with no patterns on it. Below, he had on loose-fitting faded jeans that exposed a small section of fair ankle, with a slight prominence of the outer ankle bone, giving it a delicate and sexy appearance. On his feet were a clean pair of white canvas shoes.

But what caught the most attention was his clean and beautiful face.

Soft black short hair casually fell over his forehead. His eyebrows and eyes were clean and exquisite, with a subtle gleam in his black irises. His nose was well-defined, and his pale, thin lips were slightly pursed, giving off a gentle look.

Although the young man was only wearing cheap and simple clothes, his whole demeanor was comfortable. He had a somewhat slender and tall figure, yet his posture was straight and upright. Paired with his fair and beautiful face, it was hard for anyone to look away. He exuded a clean and cool aura.

The waiter couldn’t help but think to herself, This is simply the boy of her dreams.
