Ch 15

POV Shizuo Hiwari

This is the largest roller-coaster I have ever seen. I thought, as I stood in front of the massive steel structure.

"Hiwari san are you sure about this?"

"Yes"

I can feel the tension in the air while standing in the queue. Could it be Nishikawa kun is reluctant to ride this.

"Nishikawa kun, if you don\'t want to ride it\'s fine."

"Eh. There\'s no way I\'ll let you go alone."

My face blushed and I turned away so that he didn\'t notice. What? Does he realize what he just said.

"Nishikawa kun d-do you not feel embarrassed saying lines like that in public?"

"Hmm, what did I say?" he looked at me as if he had no clue.

Could it be that he is a natural airhead?

Soon the line moved forward as the next batch of people went in. Sadly, they stopped right before our entry.

"aah, if we were one spot higher in the queue we could be in right now." I said sighing.

"Look at the bright side Hiwari san. We will now get the front-most seats. That is better than being at the back right"

Soon our turn finally came. As expected, we got the front seats.

As the car climbed the first slope, I was already starting to get scared. I didn\'t realize from below but this drop is way too much.

\'This is way too high." I mumbled.

Just as we reached the top, the last thought I had was about how beautiful the view from up here was.

"Aaaaaa..." I screamed, as I felt my heart coming to my mouth from the sudden drop.

When I got out of the ride my legs were a bit wobbly.

"That was awesome." Nishikawa kun\'s voice came from beside me.

"Ah", I realized I was holding his hands and quickly moved my hand away.

"Ah"

He also blushed as he moved away his hand. I must have held hands unconsciously as we fell.

"Um-"

"Shall we rest for a bit over there?" I asked him pointing to a bench.

"Yeah, I\'ll get some drinks" he walked off.

That was embarrassing. Actually, from the time we separated from Akari and Makoto kun a thought has been bugging my mind. If a boy and girl is having fun in an amusement park together, isn\'t that called date? But Nishikawa kun doesn\'t seem to be bothered by it. That makes me feel even worse because I feel as if I am overreacting.

Soon he returned with two bottles of green tea.

"Sorry, I didn\'t know what you liked, so I just bought green tea."

"It\'s fine don\'t worry about it."

"Should we meet up with Makoto san and Nakano san now?" he asked while drinking the bottled tea.

"Yeah, I will try to contact Akari" I said as I called Akari on my phone. "Hmm. Weird. She is not picking up." In the end I left a message telling her to contact me when she was free.

"I can\'t seem to contact Makoto san either"

"I wonder what those two are doing"

POV Makoto Shinji

"Aaaaaaa…" A scream blasted out from Nakano as she hugged my arm tightly.

.

* A few minutes ago *

"Say Nakano, why don\'t we go there.", I said pointing to a haunted house.

"A-Ah, the haunted house? How about we go there afterwards, together with Shizuo and Nishikawa kun?"

"Could it be that you are scared? Don\'t worry I am bad with scary stuff as well. It will be fun. The queue is short as well. We won\'t have a better time." I pulled her towards the entrance.

After a few minutes of waiting, it was our turn to enter. As I was entering, the person managing the haunted house gave a thumbs-up to me,

"This is the perfect attraction to get couples to get closer." He said with a cheeky smile.

"But we are not a-" I couldn\'t finish my sentence as the doors closed behind me.

The inside was completely dark except for some ominous red lights. Thankfully there was just one path and it was not a maze.

"Hey can you hear that.", Nakano asked nervously.

On paying close attention I realized that there were faint sounds of babies laughing and doors creaking.

"Y-yeah. It\'s well made right" I was also getting scared by the creepy atmosphere.

As we walked past a painting, a hand came out of it and tried to grab Nakano\'s neck.

*Back to the present*

"Aaaaaaa…" A scream blasted out from Nakano as she suddenly hugged my arm tightly.

As I turned and saw what happened I also screamed. "Aaaaaaa…"

"That almost gave me a heart attack." I said, after calming down for some time.

Nakano looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"I was so scared"

After a few more similar jumpscares I was finally getting used to it. At this point rather than the spooky things I was more scared of Nakano\'s sudden screams.

"Don\'t worry it will be over soon. We are probably at the end now." I consoled her.

The baby crying was getting louder. As we turned around a corner, we saw a baby crying in the corner with his back turned towards us.

"That was not fake? How could the parents leave their child alone here?" Nakano was filled with righteous indignation and approached the baby.

"Wait Nakano don\'t-" I could not stop her though.

When she crouched down to console the kid, its head spun around 180 degrees and what came into view was a grotesque creature\'s face with blood was coming out from its hollow eyes. It felt like something out of the resident evil.

Nakano couldn\'t even scream and fainted on the spot.

It was obvious it was a trap. Who in their right minds would even bring a kid to such a place? But they really are cruel, to make a trap like this.

I lifted the knocked-out Nakano on by back and walked the rest of the way out. Maybe because the \'ghosts\' saw the fainted person on my back they left me alone. After leaving the haunted house I quickly found a bench to lay her down and sprinkled a few drops of water on her face.

"Hey wake up." I lightly slapped her face.

"hmm… What happened to me?"

"Don\'t you remember how you fainted in the haunted house?"

"Oh yeah"

Hmm? Why is her response so subdued? And why is her face red?
