Chapter 125

The sunlight that pierced through the glasses window which curtain has been opened made me awake as I slowly opened my eyes. An unfamiliar ceiling is what I saw right after my eyes opened. Besides that, light yet delicious smell of cooking assaulted my nose as soon as in addition.

From the aroma, I assume the one who was cooking right now is making a grilled fish, a menu that a Japanese must have whenever they eat Japanese-style breakfast. Needless to say, it seems we will have light, healthy proteins and umami flavors, a typical Japanese style breakfast this morning.

I slowly raised my body to sit on the sofa which I had slept last night. After doing the habitual thing after waking up which is stretching my body, I looked at the direction of the cooking smells. There, I saw a beautiful black haired girl who went on a date with me yesterday. Obviously, she is Yukinoshita Yukino.

As to why I was sleeping in her apartment right now, it was because she offered me to stay overnight at her apartment because it was already late night when we finished our date yesterday.

Actually, I planned to head back home using teleportation just like that. For that reason, I was about to say that I already obtained a night shinkansen's ticket to Izu, but I stopped. Because I can't say no when she looks like she wanted to spend more time with me.

In the end, I accepted her offer to stay overnight in her apartment which actually wasn't far from the station. Naturally, there is no indecent thing that happened last night as I also slept on the sofa after all.

We, mainly Yukino only having fun talking about various things that happened at her school and the request for her club. All I did was commenting, laugh, and even flirt with her while we're talking. After that, we watched a family rated movie about a cat before we said our good night and sleep.

I smiled as I was thinking about such things while looking at Yukino who wears a dark purple with a cat picture on it. She hummed a popular song as she gently stirs the soup using a ladle on her hand. Then, our eyes meet when she turned to face my direction as she took seaweed from the table behind her.

"Good morning, Izumi-san. Please wait for a while, breakfast will be ready soon." Yukino smiled and said before she turned back to stir the miso soup.

"Good morning, Yukino. And thanks for making breakfast for me too." I replied with a smile.

"I don't think you need to thank me for this as I'm doing this because I want you to try my cooking. Besides, is a thank needed to someone you had a d-date before..." Yukino answered with her back facing against me. Although I can't see her face, I can see her ears are red as she blushed.

"Hehe, alright. Oh, and I will use the bathroom, okay?" I chuckled and casually asked because as she said before, she implied that she doesn't want me to be too polite with her.

"Nn! Oh, wait a minute!" Yukino nodded and said before she went to her bedroom. Not long after that, Yukino was back with a small towel and a toothbrush in her hand.

"Please use this one. And you can just put the toothbrush at the cup which has my toothbrush inside while you can hang the towel right beside the washing stand." Yukino said as she gave me the towel and toothbrush.

"Oho... Alright." I smirked and said. Looking at my smirk, Yukino's face reddened because she knew that I understood what she meant by that. Then, I leisurely walk to the bathroom.

Placing the new toothbrush that I just used in the same cup which has her toothbrush inside it is actually her way to say 'You can just put it there as you might stay overnight here again or even often.' Yes, just like a couple.

When I washed my face and brushing my tooth, the intercom on Yukino's apartment rang. Then not long after that, I could hear the surprised voice of Yukino who said 'Eh?!' in a loud voice. After talking for a bit, I sensed two presences from below slowly coming to this place.

I went back to the living room as I have finished washing my face and brushing my teeth and found two sets of breakfast prepared on the table. Besides that, I could see Yukino calmly yet face a bit reddened waiting in front of the door.

"So, who's coming?" I casually asked.

"It's Yui and Hikigaya..." Yukino answered.

"Hee...By any chance, you don't know how to explain to them why I was here?" I smirked and asked.

"N-no...I'm just a bit embarrassed...Besides, we didn't do anything weird anyway." Yukino answered bashfully.

"Hehe, that's true. At any rate, it means you're going to make another food for them, right?" I chuckled and asked.

"Most likely yes...I can't let them just look at us eating after all..." Yukino said. As we're talking like that, the two presences, Yui and Hikigaya have arrived in front of the room and knocked on the door.

"Yahallo Yukinon! How was your da-..." Yui energetically greeted and about to say but stopped when she saw me in Yukino's apartment with the bang of my hair a bit wet. Behind her, Hikigaya widened his eyes as he looked at me amazedly.

"Yo! It's been a while." I casually greeted them.

"....Y-Yukinon is an a.d.u.l.t..." Yui embarrassedly looked away and said after a moment of silence.

"For your information, we didn't do anything weird..." Yukino said with a reddened cheek.

"Yep, we didn't do anything weird...yet," I said while looking at Yukino with a teasing smile.

"...A-at any rate, please come in both of you. We were about to have breakfast, so I will make another for you two." Yukino shyly looked away before took a deep breath and said.

"D-don't worry about it, Yukino... we don't want to trouble you, right Hikki?" Yui said and asked Hikigaya who has been looking at us silently.

"R-right. It's our fault to visit without saying anything first anyway." Hikigaya, who was still amazed suddenly noticed Yui was talking to him coughed and said.

"It's fine. I can't let you just look at us having breakfast anyway." Yukino answered.

"That's right. It would be awkward if you two just looking after all." I nodded and said.

"Then, let me help you!" Yui energetically said.

"..." Yukino just looks at Yui with a doubtful face without answering.

"What's with that face, Yukinon!" Yui retorted after she saw the expression of Yukino.

"Please just calmly sit on the sofa. I don't want to trouble my guest after all." Yukino said with a pleasant smile. But my intuition said she just didn't want Yui to get into the kitchen maybe because Yui can't cook.

"What's with that pleasant smile?! Even I can do it if it's just helping you cook...probably." Yui retorted.

"Pfff" Hikigaya, who heard it was holding back his laugh but of course Yui heard it too.

"Hikki..." Yui looks at Hikigaya with a pout and said.

"Ahaha..." Hikigaya could only laugh dryly with a nervous expression.

"*Sigh* Alright, Yui...But please do what I said, okay?" Yukino rubbed her temple and said after sighing.

"Roger!" Yui saluted and said.

"Then, I will turn on the TV, okay?" I asked.

"Yes, of course, Izumi-san," Yukino answered with a smile before she went back to the kitchen with Yui following her.

"Well, shall we sit on the sofa while waiting for the girls to finish?" I said to Hikigaya.

"Alright." Hikigaya nodded and said. Then, both of us sit on the sofa where I slept last night.

I turned on the TV and switched the channel and randomly stopped at a channel that broadcasted a television program where a reporter interviewing people who were walking on the street in the Christmas mood.

"So, who confessed first? You or Yuigahama-san?" I suddenly asked. Of course, I would have no idea if Yuigahama really dated this guy. But, my intuition told me so, and it never wrong.

Hearing the sudden question, Hikigaya looks surprised before he glanced in the direction of the kitchen and nodded probably thinking I knew about it from Yukino.

"Just so you know, Yukino didn't tell me about it. It's just the work of my intuition." I smiled and said before he was able to answer. Then, he just looks at me without answering which my intuition told me that he thought I was lying.

"I didn't lie of course. You could ask Yukino later." I added once again before he was able to give a response. Then, he looked at me weirdly which my intuition told me he was thinking about something like this 'Eh is that true? What a godly intuition. But why does he ask asks about something like that?'

"I know, right. My intuition is the best after all. And I just asked because I was curious." I smirked and said.

"Please stop doing that..." Hikigaya said with a terrified expression.

"Haha, It's because it took you too long to answer. And no, I didn't read your mind. Your expression was just very easy to guess with my godly intuition." I laughingly said.

"Really, what a godly intuition. It made me envious..." Hikigaya sighed and said.

"Hehe... So, who is it? Although I can guess, I want to hear it from you." I chuckled and said.

"It's her..." Hikigaya shyly said while caressing the back of his head and looking at Yui who was helping Yukino.

"Hee...Well, since it seems they will take a while in the kitchen because of your girlfriend, how about sharing your story with me?" I smirked and said. Hikigaya looks at me for a while before resignedly sighed. He probably thought I could ask Yukino or even guess it myself.

Then, he narrated the story from when he met Yui. It seems, at the start of the second-year term, he saved a dog from getting hit by a car which caused him to be hospitalized for months. After he went back to school, of course, he was being loner like he did in middle school.

But then, a girl named Yuigahama Yui approached him. At first, he thought Yui was approaching him with an ulterior motive which he claimed to be true as Yui wanted to thank Hikigaya for saving her dog.

However, that wasn't all. Because even after Hikigaya told her that he was fine, Yui still aggressively approaching him. And he ended up accepting her presence in his daily life even though it took months to realize.

It seems due to past experience, Hikigaya actually didn't trust girls at all before Yui came. Well, it could have been saying she was the one who made the Hikigaya Hachiman that I see right now.

After that, Hikigaya was forced to enter the same club as Yui, the Service Club, and finally found a friend. Then last summer Yui finally confessed to him which he albeit trying to reason by saying he wasn't a good person, accepted after some talks.

"I see...that's quite a story. At any rate, although I already know your answer let me ask. Did you regret saving that dog?" I asked with a smile.

"Even if she didn't confess to me, I will still answer I don't regret it at all. But now, I can only see it as a godsend." Hikigaya said with a smile while looking at Yui.

"Good for you, dude..." I nodded and said with a smile.

"Thanks," Hikigaya answered with a happy expression.

"Izumi-san, it's finished. Let's eat." Suddenly Yukino called me with a tired smile. Looks like Yui's cooking skill was very horrendous to make her showing that kind of tired smile.

"You too, Hikki!" Yui energetically said. Hikigaya and I looked at each other and chuckled before we went to the table.

"Don't make that face. You could call me anytime, and I will stay overnight at your apartment." I smilingly said to Yukino who looked at me with a sad face.

Right now, I was about to enter the shinkansen to Izu. Of course, I could just teleport right away but my intuition told me I will meet someone here. Thus, I decided to ride the shinkansen.

"...Alright. Please don't forget the promise to have a date with me sometime." Yukino nodded and said.

"Of course. As I said before, who don't want 'Might be forever ticket to dates with Yukinoshita Yukino' right?" I smirked and said.

"Then, I will look forward to that time." Yukino giggled and said.

"Ou, look forward to it. Now, it's about time the door will be closed. That's why, see you soon, Yukino." I waved my hand and said with a smile. Then, before the door about to close, Yukino kissed my cheek with her face reddened and said.

"Nn...See you soon, Izumi." She nodded and said with a smile after kissing my cheek. And yes, she didn't use the usual honorific this time. I could only smile as I waved my hand behind the glasses of the shinkansen door while looking at her.

After the silhouette of Yukino can't be seen anymore, I immediately went to sit on my seat. Then, after sitting, I widened my eyes as I saw someone who sits at the seat across from mine.

She was a woman probably in her late 30s. Although her face has aged quite a bit, it was a face that I have seen before. With long white hair and purple eyes just like her son. She was undoubtedly, Shirogane Mama.
