You Didn't Tell Me the Start of My Transmigration Was a Gate

CH 7.1

Chapter 7 Part 1: Let’s Fight!

A small halo of light illuminated my eyes after I opened it. I reached my hand out to the cluster of light, it started forming into the shape of a weapon. As the light slowly faded what was only left was,

[Verifying Item…]

«Ring Karambit»

Grade: E

Attack Damage: 35-30

Description: A karambit with a ring at the end of its handle. Specializes on cutting rather stabbing.

Finally got it!

Karambit. This soft-curved dagger was modeled after an animal’s claw. Unlike its graceful appearance, it was a pretty lethal weapon.

I wasn’t as familiar with this weapon, but I think I know the basic way to use it. However, I know that if you use the hook-like blade to slice at an enemy and they were injured by it, whether human or monster, they won’t be able to avoid suffering from an excruciating pain.

It is the most effective weapon, that can be obtained without taking too much risks.

I encountered a few turtle bugs on my way back. This is their Territory so I wasn’t surprised. I just hid and avoided them. There were people patrolling the area so while I was waiting for them to leave, I activated my unique skills.

When I opened my eyes, I was already in my tent. I felt so light and refreshed. As I looked back I saw two pair of eyes staring at me curiously…

It’s the twins.

“You’re finally back?”

“What took you so long?”

I immediately grabbed the karambit in my hand and retreated. Trespassers who visit during the night are quite dangerous. Especially since their intentions are usually unclear. Also, since I was just caught snooping around on my own, I have to be weary of them.

“Whoah, don’t be too hasty!”

“We just came to talk.”

“Yea!”

The two of them, then raised their empty hands, showing that they weren’t carrying any weapons. A ranger without their bow… I can easily deal with them even with my arms tied. No matter how genius these two are, they aren’t my match. Even tho my stats decreased by a tenth of my original one, it would still be three times or four times higher than that of most people.

“It’s the first time I’ve ever seen someone catch our arrows before.”

“Even with Mr. Su-il’s strength he couldn’t do it.”

“That’s right.”

Their conversation revealed their arrogance as young geniuses. I guess it’s probably the first time they’ve found an opponent who was comparable to themselves.

“I’m An Yoo-Soo.”

“An Yoo-Ra.”

They introduced themselves in a voice full of grounded confidence. I guess they know how important it was to let the people know who they are.

“……Han Seo-Ha.”

“We’re 17, What about you Noona1?”

“I’m 19. I’ll be 20 in a few days.”

The gate opened around Christmas time. It’s been a few days since it happened so it’s probably New Year soon. After that, it’ll be my birthday.

“Was that Noona’s unique skill just now? Was it something that can make you appear in an instant?”

“It’s similar.”

“Can you teleport? But that’s not a combat skill.”

Spacial Interference was commonly used as an industrial skill. It’s a skill that was most often used to travelling long distances. That was why, They don’t think it’s good for combat. However, I mainly focused my skills on moving through short distances, to elevate my combat effectiveness. This is something that they’re familiar with.

Long distance travel takes a lot of energy, and it requires a cool down everytime I used it. Which was not very efficient. So I developed Blink. I can move between short distances without a cool down. This is very important during battles. Especially, in cases where I need to hit and evade at the same time.

I used to be able to use Blink without any delay, but with my current state I don’t think my body can withstand it at the moment.

“Don’t worry Noona, We won’t tell anyone that you sneaked out.”

“But you must do something for us instead.”

“……What?”

The two laughed mischievously.

“Fight with us!”

I didn’t expect them to say that. Fight? With them?

“We wanted to get stronger as soon as possible, but Teacher Woo-Do is too cautious!”

“If we keep doing things like this, how long will it take us to become stronger?”

“The people here are all weaker than us, yet they still try to protect us.”

“It’s stupid.”

Both of their eyes twinkled. Are they mixed? The pigment on their eyes and hair were both light. If I pay attention closely, their features are also quite different from normal Koreans. Maybe, that’s why the image of the two with their backs on the bonfire inside this shabby tent looks ethereal.

“Noona you’re strong right? I can tell.”

“So fight us!”

I nodded after awhile. It’s not a bad option for me. I can hide my excursions. Although, it’s not really a big deal if I get caught sneaking out, but I don’t really want to create a disturbance. I also, hoped these two to get stronger.

These twins were pretty weak in interpersonal battles in the past. They were used to doing monster battles and wasn’t used to fighting other people.

There were no humans that were a match for these two in this area, so their combat effectiveness against people were quite low. This is probably one of the factors why, Choi Woo-Do died back then. During the internal division, these two weren’t able to cope with the mess, and can’t shoot the people they were supposed to be guarding. All they focused on was killing monsters at a distance, so when they encountered that situation they weren’t able to fight properly.

“Alright, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my work, I’ll help you.”

I’ll try to teach them some combat skills. Maybe, this could help them make a difference, or change the future.

Time passed by, and I turned 20 while the twins are now 18.

15 more survivors came to the Gym. However, 8 of them suffered serious injuries and died. Food and drinking water could be easily provided inside the gym, but professional medical treatment was quite difficult.

All we can do is help wash the wounded with clean water, apply some healing ointment, then wrap their injuries with a bandage.

Even that was almost impossible now, that the ointment had run out.

I often went outside to hunt monsters as part of a scouting team. I also attended meetings to gather and organize information from the other scouting teams.

The survivors, who came with me also joined other scouting teams and were doing their best to contribute. However, Kwon Seong-Min remained in the base, and had almost acted like Choi Woo-Do’s right hand man.
