Chapter 76 - DAILY LIFE OF A LEFTOVER SECRETARY (1)

I woke up groggily after I slept a bit late last night. Meng Bao really had messed my head up, as I keep thinking about him for the whole night, and he still dared coming to my dream after I chanted to myself that I shouldn\'t be dreaming about him.

Yet, Meng Bao came to my dream as we stood in an altar, western style wedding, with him as my groom.

--

Meng Bao was dashing as always, and he became even more dashing when he combed his hair back and wore a black suit. His blue eyes stared at me full of love, and he just put a ring on my finger.

\'Thank you for being my wife, Shi Ying. You will accept me, right?\'

Click.

He suddenly took out a gun behind his back and pointed it at my forehead. I froze on the spot.. I was too shocked to see this. Then I saw Mr. Yang Zhuhuo and Madam Evelynn Yang also pointed their shotguns at me. I looked at the guest, and everyone was pointing a gun at me. In fact, even my own parents were pointing a gun at me for some reason.

Meng Bao, still with a handsome and charming face, suddenly kissed my cheek and said, \'I will not take no for an answer. Look at your feet.\'

I saw my feet cemented in concrete, and the scene changed from a wedding altar to an edge of a cliff in an instant. I looked down to the ridge and noticed how steep it was and how deep the water down below.

\'Ying Jie, you said that you don\'t want to marry me, right?\' Meng Bao said. He kissed my lips for the first time and then whispered, \'Then you can marry the shark down there.\'

Then he pushed me to the cliff, and before my body hit the water, I woke up immediately.

--

It was such a nightmare, especially a scene in my nightmare after that. I tried to sleep again, and the scene changed with me marrying Meng Bao again, but in that daddy shark costume. It was so bizarre.

"Seriously, why are you in my dream too? Aren\'t you satisfied enough hogging all my time yesterday? You\'re in my head for the whole night. At least let me sleep in peace for a moment!" I complained while drawing my eyebrows.

I was ready after a while.

The moment I opened the door, I peeked left and right in the corridor, worried that Meng Bao was still doing his abandoned puppy drama for some reason. After I made sure that Meng Bao wasn\'t there, I went out immediately and rushed to the bus station.

Reason for my hurry? Because my landlady, Aunty Hao, usually came in the morning or late evening. I didn\'t want to be her target practice in the early morning.

I went to the office and greeted the receptionist, then went straight to the executive lift. I entered the lift and pressed the highest floor, but before the lift could be closed, a hand suddenly parted the door lift, and a handsome man with platinum blonde hair stood in front of me.

"Good morning, Miss Paper Bag."

He smirked as he walked in, and then the lift closed. He stared at me for a good while and then chuckled, "I thought you\'re going to use that paper bag again today. But this is better. I like to see your beauty like this. It\'s a good morning booster."

I was trying to ignore this guy for today, especially after he kissed me yesterday in the lift. I became even more guarded than usual.

It seemed that Alexander Priest understood my gesture. He chuckled and flicked my forehead, "It\'s too bad. I was going to give you a morning kiss."

"Ish, never! Don\'t you dare to trick me with your stupid \'greeting\' kisses! You scoundrel!" I finally burst out and pushed him to the side. Right at that moment, the lift stopped at the highest floor, and I stomped my wedges, leaving him cackling on the lift.

"Secretary Shi, it\'s just a greeting kiss. Who knows, it might become a good morning kiss, breakfast kiss, night kiss."

"Never!" I glared at Alexander Priest.

He laughed harder, but before he could step out of the lift, I pressed the close button, and I saw his stunned face of his as the door closed and he went down.

"That\'d shut him for a moment," I scoffed as I went to the secretary desk. I set up everything, set up some document for Mr. Yang Zhuhuo, and started sorting the emails coming for him.

Alexander Priest exited the lift with an annoyed face. He stood in front of my desk with his sour face.

I ignored him and said, "The manager room is at the left, Mr. Priest."

"Secretary Shi is so petty, eh?" he said so suddenly. "Well, since I\'m the new manager here, I want you to make me a coffee. Bring it to my office."

Alexander Priest walked to his new office room, and I rolled my eyes as I got up and prepared for a coffee in the pantry. I made him the exact same thing as yesterday and delivered it to his office. He read some document and glanced at me for a second before pointing at his desk with his chin.

"Put it there."

I put the coffee and excused myself, but before I touched the door handle, Alexander Priest suddenly complained at me, "Ah, Secretary Shi. This is not what I want. I want the exact same coffee like yesterday. Would you mind making a new one for me?"

I turned my head and frowned, "Sir, that is the exact same thing as yesterday—"

"Really? Maybe make me a new one. This taste a bit different for me," Alexander Priest said while he kept his eyes on the document.

I stared at him for a moment before finally taking the cup of coffee out and made a new one.

"Is it really not the same?" I wondered as I made a new one. I remembered the exact measurement for the coffee. It even used the same Luwak coffee that Mr. Yang bought in bulk.

I returned to his room again, and now, he was sitting on the sofa instead of the desk, still reading the document.

"Here\'s the coffee, Mr. Priest," I put down the coffee and stood silently, watching him with an intense gaze.

Alex became uncomfortable and asked, "Why are you still here?"

"I just want to make sure that you won\'t ask me to make a new one again."

Alex gulped as I kept staring at him. He sipped the coffee and said nothing. So I assumed that I was making the right coffee.

I sighed and left his office. I returned to my secretary desk, but the moment I sat again, I heard him yelling from his office, "Secretary Shi! This is not the right coffee for me! Make me a new one!"

I hit the desk with my fist, "That man is playing with me, just because he\'s my boss!"

**

"Okay, this one is perfect~," Alexander Priest said as he put down the coffee. I glared at him but said nothing, knowing that he is my boss and his evaluation might lead to my salary cut.

"You should make something like this earlier, Secretary Shi. So it won\'t tire you out," Alex said.

"What earlier? It\'s literally the same measurement after twenty cups! Mr. Priest, I also have a job desk to do. Please don\'t make it hard for me!" I yelled out of frustration.

Alexander Priest chuckled and shook his head, "All I do is requesting a good coffee. It\'s okay, you can leave now. Don\'t you see that I\'m swamped here? We need to keep it professional."

\'What busy? All you do is reading last year report whilst browsing social media! You\'re not even sitting at your desk. Why are you reading that document while lying on the long sofa? What\'s the professionalism you\'re talking about here? Arrghhh!\'

I was frustrated but got nowhere to vent it. So I stomped my wedges and stormed out. I could hear Alexander Priest laughing inside his office as I closed the door.

I clenched my fist as I walked to my desk again. "You scoundrel! What a petty man! I will make sure to punish you after I married the future owner of this office!"

"You want to marry my son?" I suddenly heard someone not far from me. I darted my eyes and saw Mr. Yang Zhuhuo just exited the lift. He stared at me dumbfounded, and I also stared at him jaw-dropped.

"G—Good Morning, Mr. Yang! N—No, I was just having a bit of an argument with Mr. Priest. H—How could I marry your son? He doesn\'t even know me!" I rambled, trying to wiggle my way out.

Mr. Yang Zhuhuo stared at me for a moment and then nodded, "Okay, I don\'t think he will like you anyway. He is either gay or having a serious commitment issue."

\'Definitely serious commitment issue,\' I said in my heart.

Mr. Yang Zhuhuo entered his office, and I took a deep, relieved breath. It was just the start of the morning. My peaceful morning as a working lady had been disrupted by Meng Bao in my dream, this jerk Alexander Priest, and Mr. Yang Zhuhuo.

"Sometimes, I feel like I\'m a main female lead in a novel. But then again, who would hire a leftover woman as a female lead?" I thought.
